I’m finding the weather just a bit too hot, so today I have been sat indoors with the air con on full blast with a wet flannel on my head, which I alternate with another that I put in the freezer!! I look a total sight, and the family have been laughing there heads off, but Im one cool lady.

What a weekend, the Lions won the Rugby down under, Andy won Wimbledon and the sun shone all weekend…and its already out here again today!
We got loads of gardening done as I felt fine for the weekend, had a couple of BBQ’s and went for a long walk yesterday afternoon…all in all a lovely homey weekend.
Happy Birthday Pauline. Good luck with your final infusion Lori, I have 2nd to last on Wednesday as for some reason I’m having 8 in total! :frowning: Good luck with your 2nd to last Angie and hope Katiepops(& Freddie’s) journey tonight goes as quickly as it can and you get your McDonalds tomorrow!
I’m getting my list of jobs done today as I have bloods tomorrow ready for Wednesday’s infusion.
Hope all your SE’s are manageable and the joy of Andy winning helps!

Happy birthday Pauline x
Just been down for No 5, all went well, but think vein has now thrombosed! Have been sitting out in the garden try to tan the top of the head so it all matches. Great weekend for sport and weather, let’s hope it continues.
looks like quite a few happt dances coming up, must get practicing. My youngest daughter will hate it, she thinks I got stuck somewhere in the 1970’s ( she’s not wrong), and is at that age where I continually embarrass her, such fun.
Hope you all have good cycles and minimum s/e xxx

hi
glad it went ok philomena , i bet it feels good, 1 more left!
kim - your day sounds lovely.
lori - nice one! i’m doing the same for wednesday just so i can say 1 more to go!
kate - cant wait to pick up my crew tommorow, got to get ready for mayhem and madness - and thats just me! have you had 6 cycles already, seems a lot to get 8, but then i had a chat with my nurse this morning and she was telling me all the different ways they try to get the bad cells, swapping and changing meds and all that kind of stuff, different doses and order of taking them. it was quite interesting really. are you having cabbage for tea?
angie xx

Well all you Scottish Angels have a true hero in Andy Murrey. Not only was he fantastic yesterday but have just heard he has donated his 1.6 million to cancer research at the Marsden, let’s hope it makes all the other highly paid sports stars consider doing the same. Definately deserves a knighthood.

Angie
Yes I’ve had 4 AC and 2 Paclitaxel’s already and 2 Paclitaxel’s to go, as I have been having them every 14 days its only (!!) been 12 weeks so far and 2 weeks on Wednesday will be my last one…yeehaaa 16 days to happy dancing! I can’t understand all the different regimes - but I guess that’s why I’m not an Oncologist! Raw cabbage and spinach in my salad and guiness to drink tonight in preparation for bloods tomorrow.
Mayhem, Madness and McDonalds preparation…sounds interesting! Hope you have a great time once they arrive.

Philomena - I don’t think anyone will want to be near me when I’m doing my happy dance especially my OH just in case he gets roped in to joining in! It won’t be pretty but it will be happy!

Cycle 4 docetaxal 1 day 11
Happy Birthday Pauline, hope the vitiminD helps the side effects. You all seem to be ahead of me, prob because I got delayed a week when in hospital. You will all be doing the happy dance before me :frowning: My last chemo not until 09/08. Oh well at least it is within sight now. Hope you all enjoy the sun . Lynn x

TCH (Docetaxal, Carboplatin, Herceptin) cycle 5, day 7.

Just thought I’d pop in and let you know I’m still doing OK. The fatigue has hit harder this cycle but nothing else major. I had my second ECHO heart scan this morning (for Herceptin) so fingers crossed all is well, and we are off to the Derbyshire Peak District for a week next Saturday. I won’t be climbing any peaks, but will enjoy the scenery!

The end is in sight for us all, so hang on in there Angels. Linda xxx

EC cycle 4 day 19
Afternoon Angels,
Happy Birthday Pauline. May the sun continue to shine on you and the s/es stay away.
Best of luck for all those heading for the penultimate infusion this week and to Lori for the last one. I am so looking forward to saying only one to go! My happy dance day, God willing, will be 1st August.
Philomena, I haven’t got round to the wet flannel yet, but just taking off the hairy hat lets out an awful lot of heat. Shall miss the ability to remove hair on head as and when required when it grows back! One of Andy Murray’s closest friends has recently been going through chemo for lymphoma which is probably why he has donated to the Royal Marsden. Whatever - brilliant win, brilliant donation.
Have a lovely time with your crew, Angie. Try not to overdo it
Enjoy the Peak District, Linda - all those lovely gentle, rolling hills and good pub lunches too!
Kate and Kim, sounds like you’ve both made the most of this lovely weather. Hope it continues though I’d like it to cool off overnight once in a while!
Judy, it’s a few days since you posted. Is everything ok? You’ll be due number 5 next Friday I believe. Have you had good weather in Brid or has the sea fret arrived?
Been a bit annoyed this past few days. This is supposed to be my good week and I’ve had a sore throat and runny nose. Temperature’s been fine though so just waiting for it to go away in time for round 5.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone,
Moira xxx

Cycle 5 Docetaxol/Herceptin Day 7
Afternoon Angels. Well the predicted happened. Went to a local motorbike night around 25miles away on Thursday night and felt really good just leaning back on the topbox and OH doing the driving. On the way back had a few twinges lower back. Next morning I felt like i’d been ran over by a bus. In and out of bed or asleep on the sofa. Not too bad, however, yesterday I had the most horrendus stomach which felt and looked like i’d swollowed a bag of bricks. It felt so bloated and uncomfortable. Mouth is sore and feels numb towards the back and very furry too. Finger nails ache too.
Can anyone tell me how many days this torture lasts for? Did get to see Murray win yesterday though which allowed the tears to flow freely which made me feel better and instead of worrying OH as to how awful I really felt. How can Heaven and hell be so close i thought.
Feel a bit better today but completly wiped out.
Happy birthday Pauline. I did think of you guys in Scotland when Murray won his last point.
Philomena, Lori, and Angie and anyone else having their poison (albeit the last) soon, best wishes.
Linda - Hope your scan results are good and fingers crossed for good weather next Sat in the Peak District.
Lynn - My chemo dosn’t finish till Sept 3rd so lm with you on hold for the happy dance especially how i’m feeling at the moment.
Ok that’s it for the whingeing, off to paint on a everythings just fine face and get on with it.
Hoping the suns shining where ever you are. Lv n hugs. Sandy x

hi sandy
the docetaxol got me this time too, i was ill like you describe for about a week, then it got a bit less for a few days, then back to normalish. Very furry mouth, i ended up with an antifugus pill but i think it was the tax, that was just the pits! hope you pick up soon, i told my unit and the dose is being reduced a little because of the illness i had, its not supposed to be quite that bad.
angie xx

Oh Sandy that’s not good, mine lasted about a week just like Angie. Everyone is different so can only wish that you escape the drugery a bit sooner - fingers crossed, hope you feel better very soon.
Hope you have a great time with your daughter and grandson Angie, take it steady though, I don’t know about you but I am finding Tax more cumulative when it comes to fatigue, after a few half days out with Mum last week and out on bike this weekend has left me shattered, hoping to sleep through the nasties.
Another couple of things this week to add to SE list are dizziness and nose bleeds…where does it end??
Good luck to all having treatment this week and best wishes to everyone feeling a bit low with SE’s, hope your all on the mend soon.
Enjoy your trip away Linda!
Love Lori xx
