Afternoon Angels,
so pleased were all getting or have got to the end of this chemo train.
I have my last one next Monday, but all my veins have thrombosed now so not sure where they will go!
Mel A what part of Manchester do you live? I lived in Didsbury for 10 years before moving down here.
Judy, glad to see you back
I am stil thinking about the song to go with my happy dance, but love the ones chosen so far.
onwards and upwards Angels xx
Fec-T cycle 6 Tax Day 1
So made it off the chemo express!
Just been out for a lovely celebration lunch, so stuffed. All went well, had to get cannula in my wrist again but fine. Found it a bit emotional at first especially after listening to the words of my song - Iam on my way from misery to happiness today, Iam on my way to what I want from this world ā¦and years from now make it to the next world.
Kate, good luck for tomorrow weāll be waiting for you
Angie, have you seen the advert on tv about the Alien family, thatās me
Judy, glad youāre feeling a bit better, tax s/e defenately worse and last longer.
Forgot to say, I had a big plate of liver and onions on Sunday night so reckon thatās why my neuts were so high.
Got another lovely bouquet from oh today, heās a gem sends me flowers every chemo heās not here.
Hope everyone is ok with minimal s/e, thanks for the good wishes, big hugs xxx
Hi Angels,
Just popping in to let you know I had my 6th and final Tax and Carboplatin today. YAY!!! I danced out of that room singing āHappinessā. Last Neulasta jab tomorrow. Just have 3 weeks to get through now, and hoping they will be as side effect free as my previous cycles. I have been very lucky up to now. No nausea or sickness, no nasty veins (portacath inserted), no pains at all. My s/e have been irritations more than problems. I didnāt even lose all my hair (no cold cap) and still have my brows and lashes, although these may go later I believe. Diarrhoea was controlled with Immodium, bone aches and pains nil due to stuffing myself with Paracetamols from day 2 to 4, fatigue cumulative but manageable, and best of all, everything on schedule - no delays! Just one small blip in cycle one when I was neutropenic, so all in all not a bad time on Tax.
Just got Rads starting in September and of course 12 more Herceptins, so still not at the end yetā¦
Just a point on nails that was mentioned earlier. My finger tips have gone numb, right through from first cycle. My oncolgist told me last cycle to keep my nails as they are (Long) in order to protect the finger tips and also praised me on my black nail varnish!
Love and hugs to you all, Linda xxxx
Well done Linda, youāre dancing at the station with us!!! Lets get the party started!
Forgot to mention, I had these cupcakes made as a treat when having my infusion this morning, they have the Breast care cancer ribbon on them and were delicious xxxxx
Amber, congratulations on reaching the party, your cupcakes sound wonderful. Any left? I can send you my address!
Consider it done x

Amber glad your morning and lunch went well and love the cupcakes !!
Hello Angel ladies!
Iām able to function normally for about half a day now. Yesterday I was ok until mid-afternoon then needed a doze. Today I couldnāt wake up! I was a bit disturbed by the storms, but not badly, but I just couldnāt keep my eyes open until around 10 then after a slowish start have had a pretty ānormalā afternoon. Iāll be working from home tomorrow & Friday and going into work on Thursday & Monday & Tuesday next week. Iām lucky in that I sit down to work so I donāt need a lot of energy for it. Also Iām lucky in that I will be able to go back part time at least initially. I think this is a good option if you can arrange it; Iāve heard that the tiredness can linger about for several months after the chemo & rads are finished and if youāre working full time you may not get a lot of sympathy if you start to get fatigued after a few weeks.
My happy dance wonāt be until 22nd August. Itās our 25th wedding anniversary on 3rd September and I should be ok by then provided I keep to my chemo schedule. Plans for a luxury cruise in Egypt were replaced an age ago by a few days in Stratford on Avon, but Iām really looking forward to it!
My happy dance will be to āI can see clearly nowā¦ā¦bright sunshiny dayā by Johnny Nash andr Monty Pythons āAlways look on the bright side of life ā. Iāve made a note of of all yours and think Iāll do myself a playlist for the journey to Stratford!
Angie ā my onc told me you have a scan before radiotherapy so they can work out where to target the rads. You should have an appointment for this a week or so before the radiotherapy starts. They give you some tiny tattoos so they get the right place every time. He also said the scan isnāt detailed enough to be diagnostic. My surgeon told me the radiotherapy was likely to set off lymphedema in my affected arm; I was amused by my oncās reaction ā apparently surgeons & oncs have been arguing about this for a long time! It was still a relief to know Iām not doomed though. My arm does swell a bit sometimes, I think due to the inactivity of the first week after chemo, and so far it has gone back to normal afterwards.
I hope those of you who are suffering get some relief soon and that Melās hospital incarceration is a distant memory!
Night night, sleep tight,
Roz
Just seen Angieās post. How exciting!! I live in hope of grandchildren, but with sons of 18 and 21 I guess it could be a long waitā¦
I hope all goes well, Angie.
Roz
Good evening Angels
Angie - how exciting a new grandchild on the way
I will be doing my happy dance on 6th August to wonderful world by Louis Armstrong and Iāve paid my dues by Anastasia. Roz what an excellent idea to make a playlist of everyoneās happy dance tunesā¦could be a best seller
i have had a great time on the ālook good feel betterā workshopā¦the green primer is my miracle product. I am also sporting pretty reasonably drawn eyebrows, as the lady said āremember eyebrows are sisters NOT twinsā :).
Hope the sleep fairies visit everyone now the weather is fresher

Sleep tight and hope you all have minimal ses love Mel xxx
Hey well done Amber, Linda and Kate in joining Lori on the platform - see you on friday girls!
I canāt choose one song for my happy dance so have listed a few:
What doesnāt kill you ( makes you stronger) - Kelly Clarkson
Beautiful Day - U2
Things can only get better - D:Ream
Last but not least - Sisters are doing it for themselves - Eurythmics
Had a strange experience yesterday - my daughter took me for a spa day, I ws looking forward to a massage only to find out I couldnāt have one due to getting chemo! Apparently you canāt get one for at least 5 years post chemo??? Donāt get it but will ask at hospital today when getting bloods. Anyone else experienced this? Anyway had a facial and toenails done and a lovely lunch so was still a fab day
Judy - hope you feel better, although I have not been too bad this last week, I have still felt achy and bloated for the full 3 weeks of this cycle. I feel as if I need a pin stuck in my to let some air out and hands and feet are very swollen and sore
Angie - hope you feel a bit better too, great baby news!
Hope everyne else is doing well
Take care Angels, Pauline xx
hi all
all this waitingā¦
waters have gone, labour is happeningā¦
should be today yayā¦
Now i dont want to be mrs negative but can i have a quick moan in the middle of all this joy? haha
so is anyone having trouble sleeping? i cant sleep more than a couple of hours. Ive also got the most horrendous cold, snot, headache, all that kind of thing. Problem is knowing if its s/eās or just a cold. my mouth is starting to fur a little, its sore, tastes gone, i know thats s/eās. Cant stop sneezing, feel like crap again. I dont feel poorly poorly, just exhausted and cant be bothered if you know what i mean. Whats going on. one week to last chemo and iām wrecked!! I know itāll make me feel better if someone else is getting the same, then i know its s/eās
anyone else getting this or have i picked something up? Good job iām miles away from the new baby isnt it!
mel - i cant take my hat off either, its like wearing no knickers, my OH says i look like meg on family guy in my pink hat! I do actually.
Moira - we should write a book, have your chart, the songs, the remedies, the funny stories, then when someone gets the cannula in for the first time they could give them a copy!
kim - i like that, my eyebrows are cousins though, one does what it likes haha
judy - hows your s/eās do you feel as bad as i do? you look different, have you had your hair done?
kate - well done you today xx
angie xx
Pauline, we crossed posts
my support group has massage but they come in trained from the hospital, not just masseurs, and they reccomend it for the tax.
good songs
good luck today
angie xx
Mornin Girls,
Pauline, Iāve had a massage whilst in chemo. Had reflexology the day and while we were chatting I discovered that some people just donāt like treating chemo patients but there is no reason why you shouldnt get a massage, so you should able to get one done from somewhere else. Love the songs, we should make a list. Stronger was my song when I went in for my op.
Angie, great news about the forthcoming baby, keep us all posted.
Hope everyone is ok today and good luck to anyone on the train Iāve missed xxxx
