Good luck tomorrow Amber and anyone else who is having chemo this week.
Any tunes in mind for our happy dances?
…forgot to mention about the Docetaxel
If you are having any problems with finger or toe nails I would advise filing your nails quite short. My finger tips were starting to feel quite achy and when I went to manicure my nails the other day I noticed when I removed my polish that a couple of them have started to come away from the nail bed. I have taken them back quite short to hopefully minimise the chance of them coming off all together!!

hi
lori - ive got the ‘thickening’ that occurs on my big toenail, it hurts like my shoes are too tight and the soles of my feet are like ive just walked a marathon, are you getting that too? i cut my fingernails a while ago and i only use nail hardener but ive got the grooves that you get, although ive had some of that since last year when i was on zolidex which is similar to tamoxifen. So are you the first angel home lori? wow!
melA - what a question…i’m gonna dance to 'hit the road, tax, and dont you come back no more no more no more no more… ’
this is good, what tunes have you got? hahahahaha this could be a giggle
angie xx
SANDY one of the hospital nurses wrapped my arm up in rubber gloves filled with hot water and a towel to try and find veins. It seemed to help. Also drinking LOADS before you go can help. I have crap veins though and after about 3attempts I just want to cry. I’ve still got 4 cycles to go, each has 2 doses in it a week apart, then 2 weeks off. Now I’ve Had a delay I’ll still be going in november! You can all cheer me over the line! Hope you’ll Be done by then sandy. Glad you enjoyed your meet up.
Angie sorry ses are making a reappearance.
Good luck to anyone being done this week ,hopefully that will be me too if blood passes muster on Wednesday.

Evening Girls,
Mel, Iam so chuffed that you’ve finally escaped, please don’t worry we will wait for you to do the final Happy Dance not matter how long it takes.
Angie, my feet were a bit sensitive last week but I’ve had two sessions of reflexology and it seems to have helped. The s/e seem to come and go on this cycle I’ve had a few twinges recently but not too bad.
Lori, glad you’re turning a corner the s/e do seem to last longer On tax. Looking forward to meeting you at the station tomorrow around 11, get the cocktails lined up and we can dance round our handbags.
Sandy, good luck for tomorrow, great you enjoyed you’re meet up with Philomena. It will be great to all meet up next year
Pauline, glad you had a nice break. Good luck on Friday, will be waiting on the platform for you
Judy, are You ok?
Well it’s the Final countdown, thanks for all your good wishes and support. My neuts were 6.28 today so all steam ahead for tomorrow at 9. Have ordered cupcakes with the Breast Cancer ribbon on them to celebrate then out for lunch. Feel happy the chemo is comming to an end but a bit sad in a strange way, weird but feel my life has been divided into 3 weekly periods for such a long time sending sleep fairies to all and minimal s/e. have had 8 steroids today and don’t feel hyper so hope I sleep as well xxx
Excellent - I love your song Angie that’s a real good one . I have exactly the same as you mentioned about the nails and feet, I took to slapping on loads of E45 cream with some cotton socks then sitting with my feet up all the time - so achy!!
Mel we will be with you every step of the way, you were dealt a rotten hand all that time in hospital…one by one we will be gathering at the station and willing you a speedy journey on this blasted chemo train - in the meantime you can work on your happy dance and choose a tune!!!
Hey Amber good luck tomorrow, will be at the station handbags/cocktails at the ready waiting for you! Its a great feeling and quite emotional It kind of hits home what you have been thru, will be thinking of you and will raise my tea cup at 11am!!
Night everyone!
Lori xx
Evening Angels,
Congratulations Mel, on reclaiming your rightful freedom. There’s nothing like your own bed! Sleep as much as you can - it’ll help the blood count for Wednesday.
All my good wishes go with you for tomorrow Amber. I’m sure it will be an emotional day but in the best possible way.
Good luck to all others on the chemo train this week. Nearly there, Pauline! Anyone else getting off the train this week?
My song choice is split between two. First, it’s got to be Nina Simone - Feeling Good, then when the last lot of s/es kick in I go back to my hippy days and sing Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - I won’t back down.

Morning Angels
Hope the thunder didn’t wake any of you last night, we got a little rain but no thunder. It’s forecast to rain and thunder all day on and off here today which hopefully will cool the air a little, it was 28 degrees at 9pm last night, don’t know what the minimum was but it was 22 again at 6am today…too hot to sleep.
i am off to the hospital for my last bloods hopefully today…and last poison tomorrow. I will be doing the happy dance to the chorus of ‘walking on sunshine’…and I will be walking on sunshine as I leave the chemo unit for sure!
I am still waiting for dates for my rads but hoping for 2nd Sept…
have a good day and good luck with all the angels on the chemo train this week.

Good luck with bloods today Kate and be thinking of you tomorrow for your last one, great feeling, hope it goes well for you…Amber & I will be dancing round our handbags waiting for you to get off the chemo train. Great Tune!!
My friend has just finished her rads, she found them ok, just a bit of a bind going everyday as she has a 2year old so was a bit inconvenient having to upset his routine with sitters etc. Good that you will have a break before starting for some normallity!
Love Lori x
Thanks Lori, the break is filling up fast, I have the cosmetic surgeon wanting to fill my implant to make it ‘as ready for rads’ as he can, my parents visiting(which my OH wants to go away for!), my mother in laws house to empty(we think this will take a week and is 350 miles away in County Durham). Then the nice things, a week in Cornwall, my friends 25th wedding anniversary and my godsons 21st birthday party, our 22nd wedding anniversary…and that’s August full! I just hope I manage to stay awake for it all!
Hopefully see you at the station tomorrow as I ‘walk on sunshine’
How are you feeling a week after the end?
Kate

Crickey Kate you’ve a lot going on there good luck…hope the ‘high’ of finishing chemo gets you through all those plans!! Looking forward to that platform filling up - and be great if we could all meet for real once we’re free of this treatment.
The Se’s were pretty similar but the tiredness/lack of energy has lasted a bit longer. Think I’m turning a corner now and soooo pleased im done with it!!
My arm is shot now (flat veins and touch of phlebitis) I need to give that time to recover. Im having a line fitted to get the Herceptin which again is infusion every 3rd week for the next year so although I have not completely finished I hope its a bit kinder! We are hoping to have a week away before the Herceptin so looking forward to that.
Hope today & tomorrow goes well
Lori x
My tune would have to be James Brown ’ I feel good, like I knew that I would’. Temp is staying generally down, slight cough is going and I’m getting abit stronger every day.
Good luck with your blood Kate, you’ll soon be off the train.
Amber you’ll be done by the time you read this congratulations!
Judy and Debra hope you’re both feeling better now.
Angie hope house isn’t too quiet now little Freddie has gone home, and that they can visit again soon.
Love mel xxx
Hello Angels,
Lovely to catch up on all your posts. Great to hear you are home Mel! Pleased to read about more happy dances, meet ups and song choices!
I have had a quiet few days riding out the se’s from my 5th FEC last week. Needed 3 attempts to get cannula into a vein that wasn’t shot or too painful. For first time felt a bit unwell during infusion, but otherwise just coping with the usual tiredness and general yukkiness. Great to think next one is the last one.
Very dramatic lightening here last night, but at least a little cooler and I slept like a log
Take care angels, love and hugs, Carol x
Wow made it, dancing at the station with Lori, my tune for today is Iam on my Way by the Proclaimers. Listened to it this morning then started bawling my eyes out! Off out for lunch will post properly later xx
Well done Amber! Depart that chemo train!
My song will be radioactive in preparation for the next stage, with ‘paid my dues’ by Anastasia as my grand finale post rads.
Carol where do you live? We had a huge bolt of lightening take out a line at Picadilly train station in Manchester this morning. Key 103 radio station postes a picture of it on facebook. I’ve never seen anything like it. My pup didn’t bother at all about the thunder, which I’m pleased about because it was pretty loud. Glad the plants are getting a good drink though. 5 x fec must be really hard on your veins. I was gkad to see the back of FEC.
Mel I’m so glad to hear you’re on the mend.
I hope you’re ok Judy.
Has anybody else’s skin gone practically see through. I seem to be a spiders web of veins at the moment. It’s not pretty :-/
Mel-A
i’m glad you said that, i looked in the mirror this morning and i look like an alien, i thought it was just old age, but i’m hoping its a s/e and will go away. Dots and lines and freckly? not a pretty sight i have to say - before my OH does
angie xx
Congratulations Amber - welcome to the other side! Hope you enjoy your post chemo lunch .
Some groovy song choices coming thru too!

Hello ladies, sorry I’ve not been on, the s/e are getting better now, I don’t think I have ever felt so crap, or looked so crap for that matter. There’s no getting away from it, when I look in the mirrolook just looil like an ill cancer patient. My skin in very dry in places and patchy looking, round my eyes look all red and my face is just round, not a pretty site. It’s been too hot so I’ve stopped wearing scarves or anything on my head, I’m very used to the stares now.
mel, so pleased to read your home and catching up on sleep.
amber and lori well done to you both, is that it, finished with the chemo? Kwill your nearly there, Pauline, you will be finished too soon. Can’t believe this chemo nightmare will soon be over.
Angie Freddie looks a right ray of sunshine, I bet he’s a right tonic for you.
hope the s/e are getting better for you carol.
lori I hope your veins bounce back ready for herceptin, I don’t thinki having that. My veins have colapsed on one hand but I only have one more to go next week so I think I will be fine.
Moira is it your last one next week?
my song will be micheal buble, feeling good!
judy
glad youre feeling better today, dont you think this tax is gruelling? dont worry though, i look like i fell out the ugly tree and hit all the branches, i dont really care though.
roll on next week eh?
angie xx
Ha…thats a good saying Angie - I like it!!
Hope your on the mend Judy, its a hard road and it does take its tollI, its the same for me. At least with all this sunshine we have a bit of a sunshine glow…otherwise we might look worse!! Although in saying that I got my face and neck burnt on Sunday so head looks like a 40 watt light bulb - I need to keep that covered as it looks so stupid!!!
