TYPO ERROR…STECHING…DON’T THINK THAT WORD IN THE DICTIONARY!!
GOD I GAVE STILL GOT IT WRONG …U KNOW WHAT I MEAN THOUGH
hello girls!!
Enjoying sunshine. Well from the shade at least!! Does anyone know if I can actually sit out in it with factor 50? I get so cold in the shade!
Feeling a bit hungover today, and that’s without a drink! I hate this feeling of being quite spaced out!!
Pauline, I’m hoping to hear back from referal to accord, spoke to bcn yesterday and she was going to phone them. Hopefully they’ll take me even though I’m over the boundary. Nioxin shampoo is fine to use, is your scalp dry also? The first lot of hair to grow in is always quite poor. Some people get it cut again quite soon to allow new hair to come in. Indian head massages are perfect for folicle stimulation and blood supply!! We’ll need to try find a therapist.
11th is good for me for lunch, seems to be working out a good date for everyone?
Has anyone had trouble re nose!! Mine is so crusty and bleeds all the time!! Things don’t heal very well either. I’ve tried savlon up my nose but not too nice. Should I see a doc?
Was happy to hear I won’t need steroids with fec. My stomach is done in with them!! And I’m hoping I can ditch the dark nail polish too, although it seems to have kept my nails ok. Do you still have rotten taste and mouth with fec also? Oh so many questions!!!
Well I’m on my iPhone and seem to be forgetting everything I’m saying and I can’t scroll up or down so I apologise if this post is a complete hash. Can’t keep my brain on an even keel!! Will go on laptop later and laugh at my rubbish!!
Hope all you girls are doing good.
Love n hugs
Fiona xxxx
Hope the weather is going to stay nice. My brother is coming to stay till Wed, maybe I can put him to good use in the garden!!
Fi…
Re bleeding nose.I had this problem too on TAX.Ask your doc for naseptin nasal cream…it helped me. Crusting has to do with lack of nasal hair.
Not sure about sitting out in the sun while on chemo…I know its a pain but I would tend to sit still in the shade…but hey thats only my opinion.
No rotten taste with FEC you will be glad to hear.I was a wooze and had to have steroids still with the fec…but then I never had a stomach of steel.
Take care
PXX
Hi Fiona
God you’ve got me wondering. I’ve been in the garden this afternoon covered in Factor 50 and just assumed that would be OK. I’ve got my chemo on Tuesday, so I’ll add ‘sitting in the sun with factor 50’ to my list of other queries.
Isn’t this weather just fantastic.
Hope everyone is OK.
Helen
Hey Ho!!
God it’s blinking hot!!!
I’m melting in the shade!!! I’ve had a yuk weekend, spent sat in bed, think I’m glad no more Tax!! Nasty stuff!! Just hope FEC is a bit easier on me.
Ciaran got the geography and ICT award at school for this year and that has really cheered me up. Just hope the award night is not on chemo day!!
Aidan is away visiting his new secondary school, here’s hoping Ciaran hasn’t bribed his pals to give Aidan a hard time as he and pals in charge of looking after them!!!
Hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather, my brother cut the grass and did the garden yesterday so it’s looking a bit better.
Must have an ice lolly now.
Hugs
Fiona. Xxxx
What a lovely weekend it has been. I’ve sat in sun with plenty cream on. I find that when I’m on chemo I go brown very quickly. Look as though I’ve been abroad for a month.
FIONA - know just how you feel with Taxotere. It is a real horror of chemo. Just felt exhausted, sore all over, sick and sore mouth and horrible taste. Never knew what to eat. I started to feel a bit better after about 10 day. Know also what you mean about Nose problems. Seems a strange subject to mention but I always have problems. It either runs all the time or really dry. It’s because we lose hair from there. You mentioned Indian Head Massage. I was at Stobo Castle for a night and some treatments. They wouldn’t give me one as they say it is quite a deep massage and could affect any tumour. These beauticions think there doctors - asked BCN and she said no massage by beautician is at deep enough level to make any difference.
What is FEC - is it chemo or a hormone drug.
11th June is fine for me. Look forward to meeting you all.
Hope the sun lasts another day at least.
Love
Sheila
Hi Sheila,
Can’t believe that about the head massage!! I’ve heard a lot of people being refused treatments due to chemo and think it’s awful as a lot of therapists just have a lack of knowledge on the subject. And we’re the people who would benefit the most!
The next lot of 3 chemo’s I’ll get is called FEC, just another cocktail!! I think it’s quite an old timer one, been around for a while!!
Well off to parents meeting, and it’s far too hot!!!
Hugs

Hi Girls
How’s everyone. What great weather we’ve been having – it’s just fab isn’t it. I’ve been out in the garden (plastered in factor 50 and under the parasol) all weekend. I got the kids an 8ft paddling pool, so I’ve had the garden full of screaming kids all weekend.
Well, I’ve got my 4th Chemo tomorrow; I can’t believe how quickly it’s come around. It’ll be my last Epi, so hopefully this time next month I’ll know if my hair has survived. It’s really thinned – but it’s still there. It’s also my 8th Wedding Anniversary tomorrow, so we definitely won’t forget how we celebrated it - a romantic day out to the chemo ward – ha!
Jo – have a good holiday and good luck for your run. I can’t even run down an isle in Tesco’s!
Fiona - congrats to Ciaran for getting his wards - you must be really proud. Fingers crossed the award night isn’t on your chemo day. K was due his Primary 1 induction on Wednesday, but we’ve had to tag onto Thursdays sec as I was worried I’d feel too rough after tomorrow, even then, I’ll probably spend the whole morning in school just focusing on not throwing up - lovely!
The 11th is looking good for a lunch, it’ll be great to meet up again.
Hope everyone doing well – Take care
Helen xx
Hi Helen,
Good luck for tomorrow, it’s a nice feeling to be half way. Happy Anniversary, what a shame it’s in the chemo suite. Hope you and John can make it up on your good week.
I’m looking forward to the 11th, luvly jubly!!!

Tracy - well done for raising all that money for Maggies. Bet your feeling good that this is your last chemo.
Helen - hope you enjoy your anniversary. Too bad you have to spend it getting chemo. I usually feel ok day I get chemo so maybe you’ll be able to have nice meal.
Jo - congrats on your run and money raised.
My sister is doing the Moon Walk in Edinburgh on 20th June. She did it last year and again this year it is for Maggies. She is running a coffee morning this saturday in the village she lives in the Borders. Going down to help her. Should be good fun - everyone from the village comes to these coffee mornings so hopefully she should raise a lot of money.
You girls all do so well coping with chemo and young families. I think you’re all marvellous.
Look forward to meeting you next week.
love Sheila

Hi Girls
What a lovely few days it’s been, i’ve been out using Factor 30.
It would be great if it was like this all the time here but we’re not that lucky.
I saw the Physio yest got some more stretches to do, feel better already.
Got my chicken fillet on Mon to make me look even on top, looks good.
Still waiting on decision from DLA!!
Fiona - I found I was neither up nor down with FEC, found Tax very Taxing (haha, sorry crap joke)
Helen - hope your anniversary wasn’t too bad a day.
Pauline - Hows the recovery going? Hope your getting there slowly but surely just like me
Jo - that’s a great amount to raise, I’ve only got £45 so far, need to get into work get money from them. I’ll see you at the starting line on Sunday
Tracy - I’ll prob see you at the beatson, I start Rads 9th July
There was me thinking I had a couple weeks appointment free but realised back to Oncology Unit Frid for bloods to start Herceptin again on Monday. Wonder if they will find any veins this time!!
Seems everyone has been enjoying the sunshine, good tonic for us all.
Bigs hugs

HI All
Spent a very romantic day (ha – nooot!) on the chemo ward yesterday, looking very fetching in my cold-cap!. I can’t believe thats my 4th and final Epi over, just hope I cope with the CMF as well. More importantly I lost 3lb, but Dr ‘not to slim’ Canney wasn’t there to hear my good news and when I told the rather dishy young doctor that I’d lost 3lb after being told off for putting on a 1lb he couldn’t believe it and said as far as he was concerned I’m having to put up with enough, without worrying about my weight and if I felt well enough to eat then that was great – so had a huge chunk of anniversary cake last night! I’m feeling much better after this chemo, nausea not too bad this time. The kids are at School and Nursery today so I’ve been in bed dozing most of the day. The Health Visitor popped up this morning to see how I was doing and it was just great being able to talk things through with someone, I probably use her more than the BCN as she’s so nice.
Sharon – I’m really glad you got to see the physio – hopefully you’ll arm will start improving now. When are you doing your run? I must remember to sponsor you.
Tracy – congrats for raising so my money.
Well need to head down to tescos for some fruit and then get the kids from after-school-club and nursery .
Take care all and see you soon.

Last thing you should be worrying about right now is your weight, it will come off eventually, remember its the steroids.
