Hows everyone? Hope everyone is doing OK and all the kids have had a good day at school.
I can’t believe the weather down south is in the late 20’s, so not fair. It felt so autumny this morning when we walked he kids to school.
Sharon - Its fantastic that you’ve now finished your rads. You’ve done so well. What are your holiday plans?
Fiona - Glad you were OK after your Herceptin, hey you look fab in the photo. How did your planning appointment go? Poor Aiden not getting any lunch. I haven’t had any hot flushes yet; thankfully.
Carol - Hope your appointment with the doctors goes OK and you get some answers.
Pauline - Have you finished your rads?
Sheila - How are you ? What are you up to at the moment?
Annie - How are you feeling ater your Tax? hope you’re doing OK.
Linda - When’s your next chemo? you look great in your scarf.
Well off to have a quick tidy up and then off to bed.
Well whats the sketch with the weather…could really do with a blast of sunshine.Anyway, hope you are all ok.
Congratulations Sharon on finishing rads.Thats me done too with the ovens…yipee!!It does go in pretty fast and the staff are great.
Just back to appointments for me again.Have postponed getting ovaries out and continuing on with zoladex at the mo.Back to onc on monday to find out about going back on the tamoxifen.Oh,have not got a brain tumour …forgot to mention that…just found out last friday so docs think I am allergic to tamoxifen but will probably just switch brands.I really had no problem with the tamoxifen but was experiencing heightened sensory perception which led them to think it was a neurological problem…wrong…thank god.
Have been going back up to the hospice too for some reflexology…its great.
Just keep plodding away girls you will all get there and don’t dwell on things you can’t change.Get on with your lifes as best you can .Life is for living so get out and make an impact.
Have also seen research article which suggests taking wine while undergoing rads…helps reduce skin toxicity.Well needless to say I recommend a nice bottle of red…not to heavy but soothing and very tasty.
Let me know when you have a day organized for lunch and I will try to make it.
Love to you all and keep hanging in there

God the weather!! you’re right Pauline!! what the hell is going on!!
Good for you finishing rads!! hopefully a nice wee rest now to get over all that’s gone on for the last achingly long months!!
I’m just jumping on to suggest Tuesday 12noon under the clock in central station for lunch? Please let me know if it doesn’t suit. I’ve been in touch with Lesley and she’s hoping to come along too. Thursday and Friday is out, so we always have Monday and Wednesday as alternatives…
Hope we don’t all float off in a sea of rain before hand!!!
just back from the docs, he has put me back on the original tamoxifen that I was first prescribed and the second lot just didnt agree with me, he has also prescribed some anti inflamatorys to help with the joint pain!!! I will get there
It would be great to meet up with you all on Tuesday, Im up for that, it would be really nice to meet you all
popped into see the girls at work today, it was a bit strange but nice to see them all, I am in a weird way missing work but not the stress that goes with the job
Hi girls - what an awful day. Going to Edinburgh tomorrow so hope it’s dry then. Just having a day at the Festival though my friend and I usually go for a wee glass or two of wine and that’s us quite happy. It’s great not being on chemo but know will have to start again eventually. Fiona goes back to work next month so want to be able to help out with Jessica.
Sharon - fantastic you’ve finished everything. What a great feeling. Dr Y has been retiring for ages. Is he really going this time. I have health insurance so see him at Ross Hall. I’m sure he’ll continue with that. He is a wee sweetheart.
Annie - you’ll be fine on Taxo - 1st couple days ok then a bad few days then slowly started to feel better. Third week is usually OK. Drink loads of water Use plenty of hand and foot cream as skin can peel and nails go yucky. When yu feel bad, just rest - you won’t want to do anything else. Will meet you for coffee at EK Centre.
Helen - are you missing kids now they’re back at school
Pauline - like the idea of the wine!!.
Yvonne - are you OK. Do you still have people staying.
Fiona - tuesday OK for me. Look forward to meeting everyone.

hi guys
Really brief post. Yes, Mr Yusef is leaving. His last ever consultation is with a lady I had Tax with. The appt was confirmed while we were there. So both my consultants have left, and I LOVED them. I would love to thank them in person. But yes, he has left. Reflexology at 10, followed by gruelling round Of dentistry, getting veeneer fitted and couple of fillings. I used to have a filling replaced every 3 years. My 3 cats have colds and the wee one has been sick, so need to arrange for vet. Oh the joys!!!
Hi all
south american visitors left after 5 days now had good old birminghamn (england) visitors here for a week they are leaving tomorrow had a good time.
Got some side effects since change to CMF mouth can’t take any hot drinks or spicey food feels if my mouth has been burned.
Got fungal infection at very top of leg was thinking by product of chemo but doc says no could be due to sweating, so first time in life get infection there when on chemo?
After last epi got bad reaction on soles of my feet skin was just peeling away as if you had got sunburn was prescribed diprobase it is very good.
I am ok for next tuesday could i suggest anyone that has to cancel that has said they will br there please post on here on tuesday or what ever day is decided morning so we know who will be there and who could be running late so we would wait for them
Looking forward to seeing new and old faces and catching up. Helen i am sorry you won’t be there see you the next time by then you will have your flowing locks again but I still think your wig was a cracker.
Just a quick note as I haven’t been up to much; just dropping off and picking up from school. What a huge shock it is to the system having to get up early and get everyone out of the house by 8:50, I’ve no idea how I’ll cope when I get back to work. I got an ESA application this week as my SSP finishes early September, but at least I’m still getting ½ pay till Feb, by which time I should be back at work. Froms posts I’ve read on-line, the ESA medicals seem a bit of a nightmare as they don’t take into account s/e’s or chemo or rads – has anyone else had an one?
Yvonne – sorry to hear that you’ve been having side-effects with the CMF – I’ve found it so much easier that the EPI. With the EPI I lost my appetite as my mouth tasted horrible and I couldn’t face Tea, now I just want to eat all the time! Especially anything sweet. I dread to think what i’ll weigh on Tuesday – only 4 more CMF’s to go.
Pauline – thanks for the tip about red-wine; any excuse to have a drink - ha! I wonder if it helps to reduce the toxic levels from chemo too – I must try!
Fiona, Sharon, Sheila, Lulu, Seila, Carol, Annie and Maggie – I hope you are all having a good weekend.
Sorry I can’t make next week - if you meet on Tuesday, I’ll probably be having my chemo as you have your lunch; I know where I’d rather be.
hi everyone, hope you are all ok, I now have lime painted kitchen, hooray, we have been in this house for over 2 years and thats hubby just getting round to painting it, its nice and bright, my eldest son helped him with it.
Hi Guys,
I’d love to make the lunch, but am still suffering from the bloody tummy upset, I think. Got to see the doc’s tomorrow, so hopefully she’ll be able to sort it out! Mouth is sore from new chemo - no surprise there, but getting these sharp cramps too. might clear up.
I really hope to make it, these meeting are blighted, arent they?
Had a very lazy weekend, not much choice, and I always feel that’s a waste.
On the sound front, cats are all better, even my wee Tedi, who I was going to fly to vets inthe middle of the night on Friday! They recover so quickly. Will take her for check up during the week.
B/P is a bit high, for the first time in my life, so I think that’s also causng me a bit of a head. If I was a horse they’d shoot me.
Anyway gals, hope to see. NO choice but to see Carol, no matter how I feel.
Hope you have all had a great weekend and your treatments have been kind on you.
Hi girls
Weather has been rubbish - feel as though summer is over and it’s getting dark so early at night.
Annie - sorry you’re still not feeling too good. Hope things get sorted out. Too bad you can’t make lunch - maybe we could meet for coffee in EK. Can’t believe Dr Y has definately gone. Thank goodness that Bea has gone from BB.
Helen - hope your chemo goes OK
Maggie - how are you feeling. when is next chemo
Sharon - are you enjoying freedom now that rads have stopped. Will you manage on Tuesday. I’ll get train from Hairmyres.
Yvonne - hope SE’s are getting better
Sheila
Annie, sorry to hear about your side effects… sore tummy is common on Tax. I was the opposite so didn’t have that. you should be able to get corsodl mouthwash to use twice daily after brushing and I would suggest a big jug of cooled boiled salted water to rinse with throughout the day, it really soothes the mouth… also get doc to check for thrush (again very common) I had it every chemo and I always used nystatin about day 4 onwards… It’s a bit of a regime but it does work and keeps mouth side effect to a minimum. Don’t forget diflam rinse also if mouth gets too sore to eat… very good!!!
Tax puts the blood pressure up… I found that out by accident when I fainted on FEC!!
I have sent all you girls going for lunch my mobile no, just in case anyone is running late ect. let me know if you haven’t got it… chemo brain kicked in half way down the list!! forgot where I was…
Helen, sorry you can’t make it on Tuesday. Just think one more chemo down!!! I’m like that with herceptin… only 14 to go!!!
Carol, Great you’ve finally got the kitchen done…I feel like that with my house…I’ve been promising my eldest all summer to get his room done up…poor soul, god knows when it’ll get done…
Looking forward to Tuesday, hope everyone can make it. I’m going to have a nice leisurely stroll round silverburn tomorrow, hopefully it’ll have stopped raining!!
Helen…got your card you sent to the hospital in may…its great it came to my door.Thankyou.
Just a wee post…found out today I have a cyst in my brain…can’t say I am thrilled about that so not going to manage lunch tomorrow until I find out what type of cyst it is and what are the plans.
Back on tamoxifen today and back up to hospitals again this week.
Maybe the next time you meet up I will be able to go.Just exhasted from the news today but otherwise ok.
Hope you are all doing ok.

Hi Everyone
Pauline I’m really sorry to hear your news, you must be totally shattered right now so just take things easy. I can’t believe you’ve just got my card now – after such a long time, I’d of thought that the hospital would have just binned it.
I hope you all have a good lunch tomorrow. I’m really sorry I won’t be able to make it but I’ll be thinking of you all when I’m having my chemo.
Take care
Helen
