HI Girls

Sorry I missed lunch today, it would have been great to meet up with everyone.

Well, that’s me 3 chemo’s to go, all over in 5 weeks time. Oncologist spoke about radiotherapy today and filled in the form so hopefully it’ll start in 8 weeks time. I can’t believe I’m having 6 weeks of it; 5 weeks of frying my whole boob and 1 week booster concentrating on the lump area. He said the actual rads will only last for about 2 mins, bit taken back by that, thought it was longer. But at least I know everything will be finished by early December. I also asked about having zoladex injs with Tamoxifan, like Jo is still having, as I’m still ovulating but he said its not needed and he thinks they are too toxic together and unnecessary - so I’m happy about that.

Well, going to head to bed shortly as feeling shattered – nearly forgot, had chemo in my lymph arm again today as they’ve given up trying to find a vein in my chemo arm; so much for don’t ever let anyone do anything with your lymph arm! . And … I’ve lost 1/2lb too.

Hope everyone is doing ok.

Hugs

Helen

Pauline Im so so sorry to hear your news…any word yet?

Fiona…sorry I missed lunch yesterday. (where did you go).
Helen that doesn’t sound right about using your operation arm for chemo !

Ive been in abject misery since last Wednesday, it’s the worst pain in my stomach. I completely feel for you Annie if you are going through the same thing. I called the doc out on Friday night and he asked me if “I thought it was anything to do with the chemo”…now let me think? He was useless and told MY doctor it was indigestion. My doc phoned me at home and told me she was changing my pills. I couldn’t get an appointment with her for a week and a half. In fact Ive not been able to see a doctor…just spoken on the phone.
They changed my pills yesterday, but still no let-up. Barely eaten since last Wednesday and Ive lost a stone…after putting a stone on for chemo…BUGGA !!!

Hair is falling out so my neighbour is coming round with the clippers tonight (she’s a hairdresser) one less thing to worry about. I think the wig shop forgot to order my wig…still not here after 17 days.

Sorry girls, Im a bit moanie today.
Im managing (just) to get my poor dog out twice a day.

Hugs to all

Maggie

Hi Maggie

Sorry to hear you’re in so much pain. Can you not get an emergency appointment at your doctors? If I phone up mine I can get seen that day at either the am or pm emergency surgery. You will be flagged as undergoing chemo, so you should be seem immediately - insist you need to see a doctor asap. As a last resort maybe try the chemo ward and ask for their advice.
Take care

Helen

Hi Everyone,

Maggie, It’s horrible not being able to get things sorted out ASAP for stomach. I did get good support from my doctor though but it took a while for everyone to shift up a gear and realise I was on chemo… I would ring them again if your not well and insist on a call out or an emergency appointment… did the doc give you omeprazole for tummy? chemo can really attack the eosophigus( I’m not even going to attempt to spell it!!) and cause too much acid in the stomach which hurts like hell and can give you really bad reflux…I had terrible stomach trouble (rolling about the floor feeling like I’d been shot!!) and ended up on 80mg’s a day. I took the pain away eventually so I remained on it for the entire treatment… try and eat little and often…bland non acidic food…don’t eat late at night (but glass of milk is good) and sleep proped up on pillows, if you pm me your email I can send you a good nhs pdf on good foods to eat and tips for symptoms… If you phone the Beatson(chemo suite) and ask to speak to Donna Mellon, she is very good at getting things sorted!!! Good luck with the hair tonight. we went to the Mussel Inn yesterday and 5 of us showed up, it was very good. can’t wait to do it again…

Helen, hope you’re feeling a bit better today. I’m knackered after my trip out yesterday so I’ve caught up with paperwork today… got friends coming round tonight for haircuts!!

Hugs to all

Fiona xxxx

Maggie, sorry to hear you are feeling so rubbish, you cant go on like this and need to see a doctor, you have enough on your plate just now.

take care and hope to meet you the next time we catch up for lunch.

Carol xx

hi girls, I was speaking to my sister in law last night and she is going to be in the breast cancer documentary shown on bb2 on 14th September, one of the girls on the forum is appearing in it. She is the nurse who does the nipple tattoos after reconstruction in the Royal.

Maggie, how are you today, did your neighbour come round last night?

hope everyone else is good

Sharon, this time next week, you will be flying to sunny Portugal, so jealous

Carol xx

Hi girls it was so good to catch up at lunch on Wednesday. Musssel Inn was so good. Need to go back soon.
Helen - how are you after chemo.
Maggie - you are having a bad time of it. You should be able to see a doctor that day if you’re on chemo. If I phone first thing in morning will get apt. Did you get hair shaved - it’s quite an awful experience but best to get rid of it.
Pauline - any news yet of cyst. You must be frantic waiting to hear.
Annie - are you feeling any better.

Sheila

Hi Girls
How is everyone doing? I’m feeling fine after chemo on Tues - thanks god!
Just got my dates through for rads, starting 13th Oct for 6 weeks last appointment is 24th Nov - I can’t believe I have an end treatment date; what a relief. It’s abit crap that it starts half term week, but I still can’t believe it’ll be over with before the end of November. My appointments range between about 11:20 - 13:30, will anyone else still be having rads around this time?

Hugs to everyone
Helen

Hi Girls,

Last weekend of freedom before my rads start!! went out for dinner last night and think I’m heading up to the designer outlet in Livingston today…the boys are away with their Dad so it’s all peace and quiet here!!

Carol, Glad all went well with your planning appoinment. I’m getting some physio on my arm every Friday when I’m there.

Helen, it is really good to have an end date in sight… mine is the 17th May next year, 4 days before my 40th!!! seems a long way off but… Life begins at 40 right enough, well mine will anyway!!

Evening ladies, how is everyone? I hope you are all well tonight.
Ive been to the Beatson today and had my bloods done again, My chemo has been cancelled tomorrow as my system is too weak to endure it. Must say Im a bit devastated cos I want this over and done with as soon as possible…but on the otherhand…I don’t want the same reaction again, it was truly awful.

Ive just decided to chill for a week. Spend some time with Jack the dog as he’s been shunted from pillar to post over the last few weeks…bless his wee hairy sox.

Anyway lovely ladies, the nights are fair drawing in…we shouldn’t have any excuse to go out in the wind and rain…may as well wrap up in a duvet and watch a movie…without a grain of guilt.
Thats what Im going to do tonight…wish I’d remembered to buy chocolate :frowning:

Hugs to you all
xxxxx

thats a shame Maggie about your chemo, you will get there.

totally agree with you about the duvet and a film, I am currently working my way through the Sex and the city box set, I never watched it before I saw the film, its a bit raunchy!!!

you and Jack have a great week chilling out

love

Hi girls - not been on for few days as computer had 13 viruses. I was in a panic in case I lost all my email addresses. Son in law got it fixed for me. The anti virus was off. Probable me not realising.
Maggie - what a rotten time you have been having. Keep strong and just chill till next chemo. If your bloods are so low they might give you injections. They are brilliant and make you feel much better.
Sharon - have a great holiday. Don’t get too sunburned.
Helen - great that your getting through chemo and there is an end in sight.
Fiona - how was rads.
Pauline - how are you. What is happening.
Carol - how is the cold.
Annie - Are you OK with Taxo.
Love
Sheila

missed you Sheila, my cold is horrible, all sore and achy !! I couldnt even get to the garage today to pick up my new car so hubby had to do that too, bless him.

glad you got your computer sorted, hope you are ok
