Hi lynn and karron.
I have just had a bi lateral mastectomy on Monday in Taunton and would love to meet up some time.At present I’m unable to drive, but I would love to meet up in a month or so.
Lynn, I’m quite close to you. I live in Burtle, a village near Glastonbury, so not far down the motorway. I shall hate being without my car, but will look forward to meeting up when possible.
Best wishes
Kathy

Hi Lynn,
Thank for your invite to the roughe cafe i will see if i can get there but not sure how i will be feeling as i start my chemo this week, hope things are going ok for you at the mo?

Best wishes

I live near Bristol and had my treatment at the oncology centre. I have finished chemo, rads and herceptin as I was diagnosed in April 07. I am now on Arimidex. I work in central Bristol near the hospitals.

Anne

Hi Anna
How are thing for you now? Do you still meet up with people who had chemo the same time as you? i have not started my chemo yet as they keep putting it of as i have a brest infection but im booked in again for thursday 19th.it would be nice to meet up and have a chat one day over a coffee when you have got time.

catch up soon

Hi Karron

Sadly I don’t see anyone from when I had my treatment as I had chemo and herceptin at home and when I had rads the times weren’t consistent so I didn’t see the same people each day. I haven’t been to the support group either mainly because it is in the evening and I live just outside Bristol - if it was straight after work I would probably be more inclined to go! I hope you can start your chemo soon. I had a delay starting mine and it was so frustrating.

I am fine, thanks. I am on Arimidex which makes me ache a lot but I try to do lots of exercise. I have also lost quite a bit of weight which helps, but still have more to go, hopefully.

I am off on holiday to India soon but it would be nice to meet up after I get back. I work in central Bristol so could always try to see you at a lunchtime or after work if it coincides with your chemo appointment times. I suggest that I send you a private message to try to set something up.

Good luck
Anne

Hi Karron

Hope the chemo went ok yesterday. I was thinking about you.

Anne

Hi Karron,

I live in central Bristol! I was diagnosed summer 08 and have recently finished treatment. I didnt have to have chemo , just lots of surgery. I’d love to meet up for a coffee as i’ve felt pretty isolated through all this.

let me know when your free.

Lou

Hi guys, I’ve had all my treatment at Bristol, surgery, rads and chemo, and still go 3 weekly for maintenance herceptin and pamidronate.

Hi guys, had chemo rads at RUH in Bath and now attending Bristol Homeopathic hospital to help with menopausal symptoms. Would love to meet up. x

Hi - I’m in central bristol too. Diagnosed in March 08, surgery, chemo & rads and now herceptin. Anne G & I have met - it’s great to meet with real people! had my surgery at St Mikes under Ms Winters & chemo & rads at BOHC . I meet with the support group every 2nd tuesday which has been helpful even if I’m a lot younger than most of the others. There is also a young womens group in Frenchay and a support group in Thornbury, so lots going on. But you know, as about 300 women a year are diagnosed in the bristol area, it’s a wonder that it’s not easier to meet people… but if you’re up for a meet, let’s do it!!

Just read that you have only just started your chemo - I hope you’re ok… if I could work out how to PM you I’d give you my phone number. You could get it from the breast care nurse Angie if you want… xx

Hi waitingangel

If you click on the users name who you wish to pm you will go to their profile page where there is the option of ‘send a message’, this is a private message.

Best wishes

I’m free on thurdays and fridays (bit tied up this week for a big meet) and am also available for any support to anyone - finished the nasty bits of treatment myself - now coming out of the nightmare at last! Still waiting for surgery this year for ‘finishing off’ the recon and am still having herceptin, but am back at work and functioning quite well!
