Hi Ladies
Gosh so many posts since I last posted on Wed and welcome to dmh64.
Car53 - I agree, well done for starting this post. I used to just browse until I saw it and then registered so thank you and good luck with your appointments.
Ann - Good luck at Clinic D on Monday - at least then you will know your poison.
Alanaa - thinking of you at this worrying time and hope you don’t have too long to wait for results.
Nicola - good to hear that your doing okay and sleep is good.
Christine - I had my third FEC on Friday and although I was physically in the chemo unit I wasn’t there - I seemed to be on the outside looking in and completely detached from what was going on around me - so strange.
Well I’m rather red and puffy faced this evening - not sure if its the steroids or the indigestion capsule (omeprazole - never had them before so it could be that). Fat faced and bald who could ask for more - onwards and upwards! Is it any wonder my cat keeps staring at me and goes to the other sofa!
Kind regards
G

Good evening ladies,
Hope you are all well and had a nice weekend.
Georgie hope you are feeling better now and less puffy!
Alanaa hope you have had a nice weekend and really hope your results are through soon.
When I was at Clan I picked up a Regular Programme leaflet. There is a Breast and Gynaecological Cancer Support Group which is called PINK. They meet up every second Tuesday of the month. Don’t know if any of you ladies would be keen on this? Just thought I would mention it.
I am now up at ARI both Monday and Friday this week. Monday at Clinic D and Friday for a Muga scan. I now know Anderson Drive like the back of my hand lol ![]()
My daughter and I have treated ourselves to a night at the theatre to see Grease, it’s not until a couple of weeks but really looking forward to it.

Good morning to you all
Thank you all for your kind messages - had a quiet weekend with fat cat watching the tennis. I have an appointment tomorrow at ARI in the afternoon for my check up and to get some fluid drained.
Plan is to have a wee walk around the shops with my daughter after the hospital as I have to get a bra or two.
Ann I am going to see Grease next week as well and can’t wait for it.
Would be great if some (or hopefully all) of us could manage to arrange a get together at Clan on a Tuesday. It is so much nicer to be able to put a face to the name.
Hug to all of you from Alanaa and fat cat xx
Hi ladies
More good news today. My CT scan results were all clear. So just the gremlin in my breast to get rid of. Feeling much better now, day 9 after first chemo. Happy girl today!
Hope you are all well

Fantastic news Nicola!! Yay :o)
Hope you got on well at your check up Alanaa.

I met onc yesterday. Having 6 x FEC, once chemo done I start Herceptin. I have my muga scan on Friday then should start chemo next week so onc says.
It was very busy at the clinic yesterday. Car53 were you there in the morning?
Was at Clan today for reflexology, was ever so good.

Good evening Ladies
had my check up today and got stich and fluid removed. All rather painless I am glad to say. Will get the results on Monday and have app with prof at 11.20 at clinic E for that.
So glad that some of you had positive results. Feeling rather tired this evening so plan an early night with fat cat
Love Alanaa xx
Hello ladies,
It has been very quiet on this thread lately. Hope everyone is doing well.
Alanaa I hope it is good news Monday.
I had my scan yesterday so waiting on date to start chemo.
Was up early and out with friends for a lovely run in the frost this morning. It is amazing how exercise makes you feel really good.

Good morning Ladies
I am going to my daugther this afternoon and stay with her overnight as she is taking me once again to the hospital tomorrow. I know that one of the 2 nodes removed has cancer cells in it so it looks like further surgery or/and rads to come. Damn, thought it would be all okay but have to wait one more night for the full picture.
Hope you are all doing okay this weekend - if anybody is at clinic E tomorrow around 11-ish let me know
Love Alanaa and Cat
Morning ladies
Hows things? I am fine now after first TAX. Now ready and waiting for round 2. Which as long as bloods ok will be a week today. Got a few nice things planned for this week. Lunch with friends and shopping in town.
Alanna - have my fingers crossed for your results today.
Hope you are all well.
Nicola xx
Morning
Well we all seem to be waiting for results of one kind or another. It seems you just get one result and then its another wait for the next and so on. I sometimes feel like a hamster on a wheel but alas I know that to move forward we need to endure.
I have an appointment at Clinic D on Tuesday 7 Feb - mid way review with Onc. Wonder what that will involve? If all is in order then it will be my 4th FEC on Friday 10th - yay!
I’m booked on the Look Good Feel Good session on Tuesday 14th Feb so hope will be fine for that.
Hope this finds everyone well.

Laughed at first comment above - have tests, wait results - oh - you need more tests - wait results - I descibed my primary experience as one eternal treadmill! Be warned tho, in some ways the ‘routine’ is comforting and when it stops and you get told ‘see you in 6 months’ - you feel a bit lost - so be prepared for it!
Have been in a lot of pain recently, so not up to sitting at PC, and haven’t had concentration to do so anyway. Scan Jan 6 lead to scan 17 Jan - see what I mean! - and results show while my lung is clear - so happy about that - that scared me - my bones have got worse - spread from spine into pelvis. Aggravated by change from initial AI of arimidex to Aromasin - no taste buds, no appetite, pain such as I didn’t have even when down with septicemia and when gall bladder exploded, morphine making head fuzzy - not a happy bunny.
Back now onto tamoxifen (I did a trial for this back in 2000 so know I cope OK ish wit that) in hope this stablises bone spread. Jst trying to get pain under control - MacMillan nurse is best advisor for that - no -one else seems to have a clue - they gave me oxycodone slow relaease and as breakthrough, but didn’t tell me as I increased SR does I should up breakthrough dose as well - so that didn’t work either!! Thank you Joyce!!
Back at Clinic D in April to see how coping with pain and want to consider rads - only get one, maybe 2 shots of that in an area so need to time carefully
Take care everyone - thinking of you and maybe reading if not posting.

Hope all went okay today Alanaa.
Glad you are feeling better Nicola ![]()

Nina, sorry to hear you are in so much pain.

Good evening to you all
Had my results appointment today and it was not to bad after all. Have to have rads once the wound has healed but looks positive that I don’t have to go down the chemo road. Prof was very happy with surgery and said that he is very optimistic that the rads will do the trick.
Should have app with Radiologist in about 2 weeks but have to go back to Clinic E on Friday and next Monday as I have a load of fluid. Got another 800 mls removed today and expect the same level on Friday. No pain with it, I just know it is there as I sound like a waterbed when moving around to much.
How do you get info re the LGFG meetings?
Thinking of you and a gentle hug to you all from
Alanaa and Cat xx
It was my BCN that asked me about the LGFG meeting. Then a lady phoned me up to confirm a date with me.
I too am booked into the one on the 14th of February.
So fingers crossed I will see some of you ladies there.
Nicola xx
Good evening to you all
Hello ladies hope you are all doing okay. Anybody at Clinic E on Friday around lunch time?
Have to go once again to get fluid removed. Gosh I would have made a rather splendid milk cow I think.
Gentle hugs to you all from
Alanaa and Cat xx
Good evening ladies
Hope you are all doing well.
Alanaa I will message you the phone number for LGFB. Hopefully you can come along on the 14th too ![]()

Tthanks very much Ann, much appreciated. Would be nice to meet a few of you. I live a bit of the beaten track so rather lonesome here most of the time at present. Can’t wait to get out and about again with loads of energy. Feeling fine but rather tired still. Had some leakage from my missing boob site this afternoon so got the district nurse out to patch me up until I am at hospital tomorrow. Got my time changed to 11.20 so can meet a friend of mine for lunch at the Cairngorm who is undergoing chemo at present before my daughter is taking me home again.
My son is going to the Rugby on Saturday in Murrayfield and I am green with envy. We were supposed to have gone together, but alas it is not ment to be this year.
Hug to all of you from
Alanaa and Cat xx
