Hi Anne, thanks for the phone number. Spoke to my lovely BCN at the clinic today and she will try and get me booked onto the session on the 14th. Saw the Prof quickly as he wanted to check my leakage but he was not overly concerned (which was a relief) said that it was due to the immune supppresive I am taking and that it just takes a wee bit longer to heal. Have to get the district nurse to come daily and dress the wound but fingers crossed no more leaking so far.
Have to go back to Hospital on Monday for a quick check up.

Hope you get booked for the 14th Alanaa. That will be 4 of us for then and it will be great to meet up.
A couple of appointments this week - Clinic D on Tuesday (pity it hadn’t been Monday Alanaa) for mid way review and 4th FEC due Friday all being well. Oh joy! Still after that only 2 to go.

Hello Ladies
I got a phone call today and was told by a rather lovely lady that I got a place for the 14th. Getting rather excited about it as I am a prized idiot when it comes to makeup. Being of the blonde variety I get my eyelashes and eyebrows tinted once a month so I have some colour in the face (Vanity you heartless bitch).
Are you 14th Feb ladies meeting upfront for a coffee in the Cairngorm or just up at the BC Centre. By the way what time does it start so I can start to get travel arrangements sorted.
Still have to get the nurse in once a day since my leakage to change the dressing but no pain as such and the fluid gathering is going down (hurray). The skin has just opened a bit underneath the wound (have terrible sensitive skin which throws down the gauntlet to surgeons, nurses etc. each time I have to get something done, so have to be careful what I do and just give it time to heal. Fat Cat not happy that she is banned to my lap or side and can’t cuddle up on my chest as normal. To make up for my human shortcomings I got her a new toy which has been ignored so far.

Unfortunately, I will have to cancel my place at the LGFB. Got my chemo appt through and yes, that is my start date. It is a shame as it would of been great meeting you all. I am sure we can arrange something another time.
I am up this Friday for the pre chemo visit. Georgie what time are you there? My appt is 1pm.

Its 1.30 for 2pm - 4pm in the bc lounge in Ward 42. Coffee/tea and biscuits are available there. I’m hoping to be there about 1.30 so hopefully will see you there.

Bummer about starting on the 14th but good to just get going with it. My appointment is at 10.00am and infusion usually takes about 2 hours so depending on how quickly the chemo comes from the pharmacy I may still be there.
When you visit the chemo suite you will see just how relaxed it all is. A nurse will sit with you through it all and explain everything - you will be fine.

What a shame that you can’t make it Ann, but hopefully we will meet up at some other point. Will be nice to meet you Georgie and the other ladies who got a place on the 14th.
Had my trip to Aberdeen and don’t have to go back until next Monday - hurray a whole week off for good behaviour. If they don’t get much more fluid out I don’t have to go back weekly for a while which would be great.

I am feeling rather apprehensive about the whole chemo thing now.
Alanaa, we shall defo have to have a meet up for all the ladies on here.
I telephoned to cancel the LGFB session and left a message on the answer machine. They telephoned me back and also left a message on my machine to say they booked me in for 3 weeks later. Can’t believe my chemo matches up to the workshops. If they are 3 weeks apart I won’t manage boooo.
Good to hear you have a week off for good behaviour Alanaa lol.

That the second of my TAX chemo done yesterday. Feeling tired and fuzzy headed today but not too bad. Think the steroids may be keeping me going though.
I have my fingers crossed that I will be okay on thursday as it is my eldest daughters 8th birthday and will be gutted if I am not fit to celebrate with her. Thursday was the worst day with my first cycle when the steroids were totally out of my system.
Ann - sorry about the LGFG and hope your visit to ward goes well. I cannot fault the nurses the twice I have been in and the ward is lovely and relaxed.

Had my pre chemo assessment today, went okay - I was very nervous and a wee bit scared :). Was lovely to meet Georgie! Can’t believe how long you had been there. Hope you got home not long after we left.
I am soooo annoyed I am gonna miss LGFB Tuesday. You all could pop up to chemo ward after with your newly done faces for me to see lol

I have recently attended a seminar in London and met lots of nice girls and was hoping to meet with some people in a similar situation in the Aberdeen area. Hello Amy and welcome to our little thread.
Good news is that I don’t have to come to Aberdeen on Mondays as I am there on Tuesday anyhow. BCN phoned me today and got my app changed to 1pm Tuesday, even better she will see me at ward 42 so I don’t have to get my rollerskates to make it in time for the LGFB.
Not so good news is that my wound is still about 3.5 cm deep and will take a few weeks yet to heal. Hasten do add I did not do anything to cause the issue. Had a mega meltdown this morning with tears just pooring out for no reason at all. Fine now and getting cosy with Fat Cat and enjoy a nice big mug of coffee.

Pleased to say that I managed to celebrate my daughters birthday on Thursday. Yay!! I turned 32 yesterday too! My OH cooked me a lovely meal and was spoilt with prezzies from friends and family.

Good luck tomorrow Ann - not that you’ll need it as I’m sure you will be fine. Nice meeting you on Friday and you certainly shouldn’t be as long as I was - apparently my bloods were rubbish on Tues (0.7) but no one thought to phone and tell me so had to get them taken again when I arrived for chemo (had jumped to 3.00)which was why the long delay but at least thats number 4 done and dusted - only 2 to go - whoooopeee!
Alanaa and Nicola - looking forward to seeing you at the LGFG session tomorrow - boy am I in need of it!
Car53 - where are you - hope your ok.

Georgie I am looking forward to tomorrow myself very much. Shame this damn wound of mine is needing dressing every day. Still open just under 5cm so will have to be patient and just do what I am told.
Nicola hope you are fine after your chemo and up for a bit of a laugh. I can honestly say you will get one if you see me trying to put make up on.
Does anybody know how Car53 is getting on? She has been very quiet over the last while.

hope the LGFB was good and Ann -hope you feel OK after your big day!
I’ve been offline lately with lots of PC problems and also going through a rough patch personally with more mammograms and appointments. My skin broke during the mammo as it is thin after rads and its not healing that well so a steady reminder. Back to the soft no wired bras! I need to wait until 13 March for results so fingers crossed all will be clear! Its one year since my first diagnosis this week- would be nice to close the loop.
Good to see more ladies joining us and happy birthday to all who had celebrations this week.
