im day 14 of 1st epi… and hair is starting to depart company… a few strands on my head but lorry loads from my nether regions… nobody warned me they would go first LOL… got quite a shock!
i went to get bloods taken to check levels, although its a week early doc wanted me to get them checked before i head off camping at t in the park on friday for the weekend.
im now in a bit of a dilemma… do i do a GI jane before i go or hope its only a few wispy bits that fall out between friday and monday… dont fancy ending up with a combover for the weekend LOL.
julie glad you enjoyed Oasis… i wasnt in the right frame of mind when they played Edinburgh so didnt really enjoy it as much as i should have.
lulu day 18/19 were the days of no return for me. I managed to hang on to mine till day after take that which wa day 19. if your short you may hang on to it till monday like i did, good luck.

Thanks Lulu34 and Lisa for all da info re booster injections…much appreciated. Was given 5 injections to take home and store in fridge and district nurse will give first one and show me how to inject myself if i am happy enough to do so. Lisa I know they can give you achey bones/joints etc but were you ‘vomity’ sick as well and did you decide to stop them or did the Oncol suggest this?(hope you dont mind all the questions) 
Well Chemo on Tues went well, bloods fine and asked nurse to administer it slower this time and with a saline drip attached. Last time it was given very quick through my picc line and i ended up with a really bad headache on one side coming into the back of my eye, which lasted about 2-3 days. Now call it coincidental but this time nothing (thank goodness)& feeling ok. I took real craving for a chinese curry and eat half which probably soaked up most of the chemo as feel great today barr a little tirdness and again managed not to take the steriods they gave me to take home(long may it last).
Then headed off to the ‘Look good…Fell Better’ course with 24 other ladies and ended up with a goodie bag with lots of great brand make-up worth over £200, which was a lovely treat. Then today another Cancer group phoned me re their ‘Clarins’ make-up class, where they have a group of just 5 ladies and each lady gets their own personal make-up assistant during the session for some pampering and a fab goodie bag at the end…how good is that!! They really do look after us!
Having bro build me a patio and barbeque area for the past month and is eventually coming to an end…thank goodness as dust everywhere, but looks great. Have invested in lots of shrubs/flowers and ceramic planters, so will have to get a bit of a Kim Wilde head on as gardening was never really my field but actually looking forward to it. Just got firepit delivered today so looking forward to loads of friends/family evenings sitting outside around the fire and creating lots of pleasant chats and good memories. My little girl and I are going to decorate the little border wall with mosaic tiles and shells and make a masterpiece!! Just our little bit of heaven!

everyone else having good week long may it continue , sound like hair loss is all similar I lost mine about same time as well , wig is great but not very comfortable so tend to wear some great baker boys caps which I got from wigs store but may try out the band thats been mentioned .

On second Tax and its taking my eyebrows and eye lashes have gone I think thats what has brought me down this week along with fridge frizzer breaking and think some one tryed to break in front door … getting alarm fitted weekend ( good job I didnt catch hold of them the mood Im in !!! )
Ive booked for look good work shop but not heard of the clarins one any more info woundered if it was in my area would love advise on pencling my
eyebrows in have tryed but looks really false .
Sorry Rosie nearly forgot what I ment to wright , Injections didnt make me sick but made it so I could get out of bed know its really sad but the way I told onc was because hubby had to got to work really early in morning , if there had been a fire while I was in on my own with my young children I dont know if I could get them out of the house on my own , I know its a bit harsh but thats how it affected me she did say it was very rear and was not worth feeling this way .
I think we all agree we will put up with the chemo crap because we have to its all the othere side effects that get us down …
No one seems to mention the tango glow that the steroids give me is it only me walking round like im livig under a heat lamp lol …

im well miffed… blood test came back and am neutropaenic so not allowed to go to T in the park 
never actually thought they would have dropped that much but neutrophils are only 0.16.
back next tues for pre-chemo bloods so im sure they will be much better by then.
still losing hair but not on my head… OH says hes gonna put them under the pillow for the pube-fairy.
dont need to worry about my dilemma now but might get sis or dad to shave it at the weekend before it starts to go properly so its when i choose.
have felt pretty lousy all day but starting to perk up a bit now.

Sorry to hear you cant go to T in the park, its awful when we cant do things we want because of this bloody thing…but i suppose its the way its gonna be for a little while but its pants.
had to laugh at the pube fairy thing… i think it helps when we can laughat these things,
Hope your blood picks up for next week , ive got my 3rd next friday and im dreading the blood test on Tue cos I know this sounds daft but im looking forward(wrong choice of words perhaps but i cant think of any other way of saying it) to the next one cos it means its another one done and im half way through chemo.
Im sure you’l feel better once your hair is completely off i know i did…

Can’t remember who was talking about antibiotics but i also get antibiotics to take at home from day 5 for 5 days. Can’t believe the difference in treatment we all get.

My onc said he would not give antibiotics unless they were needed not as a precaution. They all have different ideas.
Pauline, I have am OH that plays golf a lot I know where your coming form I have only had to use that card once.
Lynda, Sorry you missed out on T in the park. Its a sod this thing I feel that I’m missing out on loads. I miss my meals at the chinese and indian guess where im going when thsi is finished???
To top it all its chucking it down with rain here. Im off to my Daughters for tea Thats if my 2 grandsons have no bugs. Here we go again Can’t wait till i can just say yes to all the invites without having to think first.

told me if i get symptoms go to drs for tamiflu tablets. Still going out!
Just keep being told its bacteria infections that are a problem not viral, looked it up on internet too!
Bloods were ok this time, so might be a little bit more cautious this time!

Got sent home from work today as a parent at the school has got swine flu - altho only a week of term left thats me til September when I would have had my 6th and final chemo - how good it is to see those words!
Glad to hear most of us sound so upbeat - I too take a week of antibiotics but on day 7 for 7 days - its all a bit of a lottery as to where we live I reckon -take care all, xdebbiexx
mumszy hope your both ok, bless him, my OH cried too for me. It’s a very difficult time but you have done it now and you will be able to move on.
Have a good weekend, by monday you will be opening door to postie with your bald head. I am a bit wicked now, i get pleasure from answering the door to the betterwear lad in my scalf, shocking the neighbours, go out my way to make them look at me, great to see their reactions. Sorry if i’m being cruel but got to make my own entertainment on these long lonly, boring chemo days.

we dont get antibiotics either… think the antibiotic thing is a bit daft really… just means your more likely to get a resistant strain of any infection you get which would be more difficult to treat.
and just cos your neutropenic doesnt mean you will def get an infection… think some oncs are just being a bit over cautious.
mumzsy hope your not feeling so sick but if you are then contact your onc… there are loads of antiemetics these days so you shoudnt have to suffer.
Pauline you look fantastic ill be getting the clippers out this weekend when OH is away gonna get dad to do it cos i think he will cope best…

well got my 3rd fec today, have just had my breakfast of porridge and ginger, ginger and lemon tea, also 2 pints of sparling water,will do anything to try and not be sick this time,
mumszy sorry you have been sick,hopefully just that once
there is a case of swine flu at my kids school , but they finish today,so 7 weeks looking after me not lol
