Hi @hc1973, I’m day 12 and just starting to feel good again. Appetite is great, headaches and all the horrible side effects nearly gone. I definitely think the pegfilgrastrim gave me sore throats and aches and pains. Chemo this time has been tougher It’s hard to know which medication/ chemo causes what.
Hope your son does well in his exams it’s amazing how well people on this forum are coping with young children and teenagers. I’m well past that I’m 52 and my 3 are 33,30 &28. Although I miss those days when they were all at Uni and the house was non stop. I’ve 2 grandchildren whom are 2&3 so they keep me busy.
I’m starting to rant on here lol.
Amazing to all you ladies heading towards 3rd cycle
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend and all symptoms are bearable. Just remember we are all doing our best with the hand we’ve been dealt and it’s one day at a time.
Hope you’re feeling better soon xxx
@ivegotthis01 - yes it’s definitely the injections. My pelvic and lower back pain got so bad I phoned the helpline and they said it’s your bone marrow going into overdrive producing white blood cells. She told me to take paracetamol and said they could give me stronger painkillers if needed. I found taking an antihistamine helps - I take one tablet an hour before my jab and it wasn’t as bad last time x
Perfect, will try this next week xx
I’m struggling in the heat, which is not normal for me, I usually run in the heat, ran in the Sahara last autumn!! But temperatures today have really wiped me out. Have bought some baseball caps with SP50 to protect my head, but still washed out. And I don’t know if I have a “chemo smell” but every fly / midge in the area is gravitating towards me!!!
Morning all, hope you are all doing ok this morning!
I have my 4th round of ec today (all being well) they seem to have lost my bloods taken on Friday and not jd the usual toxic report call but hoping it all gets sorted and goes ahead.
Hi @mlp74, hope all seats sorted for you or they could run them again this morning and you get your 4th round done. Thinking of you and good luck
Hope it gets sorted @mlp74, must be horrible to be wondering if it will go ahead? I’m day 5 after 4th EC, the usual nausea, sickness and some random fatigue where I literally drop off to sleep with a moments notice! Sunshine over the weekend was lovely and I managed a few low key social things too which was great
Morning all! Usual steroids lack of sleep so I thought I’d jump on and say hell! Thank you for all the lovely wishes yesterday. It means so much.
All went ahead yesterday. I took a bit of a weird funny turn at the end when getting the flush and was sick. But apart from that all went well
That should say hello!!
Hope everyone is doing ok today?
@mlp74 great to hear it went ahead. Hopefully you sleep better today x
Has anyone had nosebleeds, I had a few slight ones yesterday and bad one in the middle of night. Spoke with BCN and I’ve to get bloods done today to check blood count xx
Day 6 and I’m feeling awful today! Nauseous, indigestion and so tired For the first time since chemo started I’m not even out of bed, just can’t get the energy…. There’s a Cancer Support Group meeting locally that
I was planning to go along to this afternoon, so I’ve got 2 hours to get myself together I’m not that keen to go, but feel it might be a useful resource?
@altoan - I hear you! I’m also on day 6 and the nausea is unrelenting. It’s weird because I haven’t had nausea for the previous cycles. I guess I’m making up for it now. Saw the consultant yesterday and she told me to expect even worse side effects from the docetaxel, including awful indigestion apparently and bone and muscle pain. Right now, I’m not sure I can cope with any of it.
@ivy-cat my oncologist said the same about doxecetal- really not helpful to be so negative I feel, I know they have to tell us the facts, but I felt my oncologist went OTT. I need to know what I may experience but please in an objective manner. Hugs xxxx
Hi guys sorry I haven’t been messaging the last few days. Been quite rough so just hunkered down. Unfortunately when I’m on the steroids it really throws all my sugars and insulin doses and just adds another stress! I hope everyone else is OK good luck for everyone about to move over to the Docetaxal. Has anyone had any experience of the Abraxane? If so how does it compare to the EC side effects? Helen xx
Hi everyone, sorry I can’t help as I’m on AC and just starting to realise how many different types of chemotherapy’s there is.
Each seem to have so many different side effects.
My bloods came back today, Hemoglobin Is low so have to get them repeated on Thursday as this is what is causing Nosebleeds. dizziness and headaches.Dr said if still the same on Thursday I’ll have to get blood transfusion
I really don’t like to come on here and complain but feel as I’ve had every side effect on this chemotherapy. All anyone tells me at Hosiptal is this is a tough chemotherapy.
I know I’m fortunate that I’ve only 4 cycles to get and then radiotherapy but don’t know if I can cope with much more.
Hopefully tomorrows a better day xx
