This the same box I got @isthisreal - so many lovely things in it! I was told to get a Covid / flu jab too. Phoned the surgery and there are none available until May! Not sure if I should have one once I’ve started chemo or not…
Hi all,
Starting chemo next Monday week. Tips really helpful thanks everyone.
Didn’t have a Covid jab as read that it can prompt lymphoedema so thought maybe not. I had full node clearance as got a recurrence in my lymph node (IDC ER and PR pos and Her negative). Will ask Onc team tomorrow. I am on AC-T anyone else on this?
How is everyone getting on with the cold caps? Will be using these too and got a few tips to help but apparently I have only 35% chance of keeping 50% so odds are not great.
Hi! I’m on Day 12 following my first chemo (ER) with the cold cap and so far nothing to report hair loss wise. Obviously it’s very early days so I’m taking nothing for granted. I found the first 15 minutes excruciating but hung in there as advised by the nurse and it did get bearable I’m already dreading #2 on Wednesday but am going to stick with it as long as I can.
How were those odds calculated if you don’t mind me asking? No one has mentioned to me any more than it’s worth trying - to promote re growth as much as anything.
I’m also on day 12 after cold capping and starting to get anxious that hair loss is imminent! The nurse said to me that 50% of people who cold cap lose 50% of their hair… she didn’t say what happened to the other 50% though! My treatment is every 3 weeks so I have another 9 days to g until the next one.
@isthisreal none from the injections- have been taking Loratadine in the morning, as seems to help as wasn’t told to take it. Where did he give it to you. Though have have to say I’m having hot flushes which is a new thing - but not just after injection. Has it stopped? Xx
@gromit12 I’m still hot but so far nothing else. Gosh this whole business is such a roller-coaster!
Hi there!
Hang in there. It’s based off this study where you put in your treatment;
