it went ok and i tolerated (just about) the cold cap… i feel a bit drunk now… how all you all doing
does anyone know if i can take diazpam tonight after chemo x
Hi Ladies
Fairy glad you’re ok. Chemo does give you that sort of foggy feeling. It will pass. I don’t know about the diazpam. Did they give you a number to call? Or can you ask the bcn in the morning? Take it easy now x
Helen and Butterfly the steroids mess with your sleep pattern, so this should now get better. But also, when you stop taking them, your energy levels go down, so expect to feel tired over the next couple of days. This will pass and hopefully by about day 8 you should feel back to normal (well, almost!)
Sending hugs
Sue xx
Hi everyone, day 4 for me and still feeling a bit nauseous and food and beverages still don’t taste quite right. I’ve also had early morning wakings too so glad I’ve taken the last of the steroids tablets !! I don’t seem to be having too many side effects as yet, which is good…apart from constipation today… my hair hasn’t been washed since Friday ( chemo day ) but I will be washing it tomorrow as I have a wig fitting organized for the afternoon, its so lank and greasy right now which my hair has never been like in my life…!! Lol …is it wrong if me to crave a “normal” life right now…? Hope everyone is coping ok. Hugs x
Oh Sue58, how I relate to ‘craving normal’ this made me smile as it’s definitely how I feel. The sickness left on day 5 had nasty taste till day 7 so hopefully you will start to improve. I’m dayv13 after 1sr chemo now so should go into my best week, before it all starts again!! Big hugs chemo ladies xx
Thanks Sib, I was diagnosed at the end of May and had lumpectomy and lymph node removal 2 weeks later…like you everything has gone from “normal life” to upside down rollercoaster one step at a time life!! Surreal… my chemo was put back a week because of cellulitus in breast, so I would have been doing chemo round about the same time as you…lol. are you having FEC-T ?
I just keep thinking by Christmas hopefully we will be nearly there…hope its going well so far. Hugs. X
I know I hope my chemo will be finished on December, I am also having Herceptin so that wI’ll continue after as it’s a 12 month treatment and I haven’t started yet! I am on FEC T. I was diagnosed 22nd June, mastectomy and lymph clearance on 30th June, so has been a whirlwind.
I’m sure ‘normal’ will come back or maybe this will become 'normal ’ for us. Xx
Hi everyone. I am having FEC-75. Six cycles. I had my first cycle yesterday by canula (third attempt!). So far so good. No nausea. Slept well and went to work today (office job). I left the office mid afternoon even though I was fealing OK. Don’t want to over do it! I feel like I’m constantly waiting for symptoms ?.
Got my date today for the 24th only they forgot I need tje picc put in so got to waitnfor phone call tomorrow to get that sorted. Just got to busy myself with getting all the jobs done before 1st round. Glad to read that most of you ladies are getting on ok. X
Thank you Sue xx
Hi Sam. I too felt like I had to get all the jobs done beforeally my first cyule. Almost like I was nesting!! ? I hope you get your picc in soon x
Oh boy. Now its happening! Picc line in tomorrow 9am. I am planning to go there riding a motorbike. Am I being ambitious?!
Morning Ladies, hope we are all ok this morning? Day 6 for me and I’m slowly feeling better although still a bit blah.! Had small nose bleed this morning but it didn’t last long, went and had wig fitted yesterday and brought one home. Don’t like it now I have it home, but maybe that’s just realization that my hair could well go…even with cold capping… just not sure if I’m a wig person… or will have the confidence to wear it… but am grateful its there for free if I need it…Oh god. All these worries kicking in now… havnt taken any sickness tablets today so far , keep waking up at 3.30am,
5.30am…wondered if they may be causing that ? I keep thinking can I do this for the next 3/4 months?? I hate feeling unwell and I don’t like the 7 daily injections either…maybe this is just a flat day for me too… hope I feel a bit brighter tomorrow…how are all you ladies doing after your first chemo 's? Hugs to you all. Xx
Hello everyone hope you are all doing well. I had some good news from my surgeon today. My sentinel node was clear and the MRI shows nothing else of concern. I’m so relieved.
Ali, that’s brilliant news xx
Brilliant news Ali…thanks Sue C… xx
Thats great news Ali. X
Hi Ladies
How is everyone this evening?
Xx
day 3 for me doing bits and bibs but the fatigue is debiliatating… no sickness tho… why do u need daily injections… i had one yes and one after next chemo
Hi fairy
Days 3 to 7 are probably the hardest time when it comes to fatigue. This will gradually improve and hopefully by week 2 you will feel back to normal.
The gcsf injections are given to boast the white blood cells, so that you can rebuild your immune system. They’re not great to have, but do their job well.
Sending a hug xx
