Yes as @dhmb says, first the worst. But i found i felt pretty good by day 8. Ive just had third and feeling rough today but I know Iā€™ll feel ok by next weekend.

Thanks @bigpickle. Similar meds to me but they have given me 2 tablets for anti sickness, though maybe that means i wonā€™t have any in drip. It does seem a lot of steroids. They make my face go red which I hate and i dont sleep either. Good luck for 14th. Mine is 25th.

@bigpickle That one looks good too, would think itā€™s your natural hair. Loving all the stripey tee shirts too as I also have a fair selection!:two_hearts:

@songbird1. looks fab! I do feel more comfortable in a beanie hat of some sort though, less worrying! Aviemore looks just the tonic. Hoping you do feel better soon :two_hearts:

Hello Ladies, I havenā€™t posted for a while but have been keeping in touch with all your posts. Iā€™m loving the wig pics :star_struck:, you all look amazing.
Iā€™m half way through treatment, finished my fourth EC. For those starting EC I found ginger ale was my go to for nausea and I bought a bag of mixed assortment of boiled mints from Sainsburyā€™s which also helped. I also had the red face for a couple of days following treatment but that disappeared. The sickness, headaches would hit me about 4 hours after treatment, but I managed the side effects with the anti- sickness meds. For 3 days I would be a right pain to the rest of my family, Iā€™m not very good at sitting still anyway and talk a lot, so whilst on steroids I was talking non stop and doing too much  then I would crash day 5 or 6. By day 8/9 I was feeling back to myself which gave me about 6 days of normality until my next one, (my treatment is every other week).
Iā€™m about to go on to Paclitaxel from this Thursday. Iā€™m feeling quite anxious, despite being told itā€™s not as strong as EC, Iā€™m still worried about how my body will react. I know I have to go with the flow as we all know we have no choice but all those anxious feelings that I went through before I started chemo is coming back to me.

Hi @lou6. I get that about the steroids and talking a lot! Iā€™m the same! Iā€™m a teacher, used to talking all day, so being at home all day is quiet for me. Itā€™s why i write so many posts! Last day of steroids for this cycle so hoping I get some sleep tonight. I had 2 hours broken sleep last night and ended up doing christmas shopping. God knows what Iā€™ve bought!

Like you, Iā€™m moving to the taxane next. Mine is docetaxel and Iā€™m nervous too.

Roll on Christmasā€¦i canā€™t wait! Though, masectomy and radiotherapy still to come.

If it helps Iā€™ve had my first fortnightly pax and it was better than EC. I managed pretty well on EC aside from a bit of nausea and the Saturday my whole body would feel sensitive. But on pax I had it on Wednesday and was fine Thursday/friday. Saturday I did feel like I was in the starts of labour/period pain, maybe labour is a bit dramatic ha, with the stomach and back pain :flushed: but ā€¦ by Sunday I felt much better and aside from some achey legs Iā€™m doing good! Iā€™m going to ask re stronger pain relief for the Saturday for next time. It was sore but not totally unmanageable and passed quickly xx

Thank you thatā€™s useful to know. I have my oncologist appointment today to discuss my meds for next session so Iā€™ll ask about pain relief in case of aches and pains. X

Hi all, Iā€™ve just finished 4 x paclitaxel and would say the main side effects I had were stomach pains and leg ache, but then I did get some peripheral neuropathy but thatā€™s all gone now. Had my first ec on Friday and still feeling nauseous but improving. @lou6 I have just finished off a bottle of ginger cordial and have ginger ale on hand! On paclitaxel I generally felt fine for the first two days while on steroids. Itā€™s certainly unnerving starting a new chemo drug and the not knowing all over again! Good luck all :two_hearts:

Anyone else have blurry vision at times? I canā€™t read captions and subtitles on tv that well but Iā€™m fine close up.
