Ha ha, I don’t own a boat (I wish!), I just happen to live near a sailing school so did some courses when I moved down here
Re. Sleep. Now you mention it I have slept quite well the last 2 nights and I had taken antihistamines both days, not for that specific purpose but for a random eye irritation. Maybe that’s the way ahead
Take your meds BBBs, you know it makes sense and have a great weekend x
That’s interesting Bella,
It certainly sounds like something to try. I might see tonight if it works. I was awake at 2am today , so I could use a good nights sleep!
I can’t remember where I read it but I think it was an American study about AI side effects and the different options.
I read that a control group were given Clarityn and the others a placebo. The antihistamine showed a marked up tick in improved sleep. It doesn’t adversely effect the AI, so it’s an option…
Night sweats!!! Urgh….
Gawd. Hello 3am- again
Antihistamine isn’t working tonight… obviously …
Fan on, sheets changed, pint of water later and I’ll see if I can get back to sleep again.
Oh no, it’s horrid isn’t it? However I’m not sure how much of it is because it’s still quite muggy at the mo? Only a real autumnal temperature drop will help understand this.
When I had bad ones on tamoxifen I slept on a bath towel, definitely helped.
Hope you went back to sleep ok xx
Also, as mentioned last week, I’m on my way to a conference in London. Travelled commando last night, stayed o/n, only when getting dressed stupid o’clock this morning realised I’d forgotten something…
You, my dear BBBs, are the only ones to know that amongst a lot of high profile folk today I’ll be the one with a sock in my crop top because I forgot my boob! Ta daa!!
When I had night sweats during the menopause I used to put doggy cooling mats under my sheet and they were really good. Obviously I didn’t pinch my dog’s ones, I went out and bought one just for my own use!!
Been on Letrozole since Friday and up until last night was absolutely fine sleeping. Not sure if the tablets can have an effect that quickly or if my mind was just busy
So BBB’s … I did actually sleep in today until after 9am… I went back to sleep pretty quickly after changing the sheets and putting the fan on.
@bellalasagne1 you might have a point about the muggy night. I don’t think it helped.
@lottie73 that’s a good tip Charlotte, thanks. The dogs use them a lot. I’ll order a spare and give it a go Glad you are doing ok on the Letrozole. I’ve got to say, apart from sleep and last nights wet sheets, I feel ok. I’m getting my energy back, which is good…
Hopfully this is just a blip and it will settle down…
@smak, how are you doing with yours Sheelagh… sleep improving yet?
I think I’m going to carry on with the antihistamines. I think they are actually helping me to get back to sleep, when I do wake up. That’s an improvement. Usually, when I’m awake- I’m awake
Since taking one antihistamine along with my AI (at bedtime), I’m still waking up, but I feel it easier to drift back off. I might experiment and take two one night??
Yes, I started a week Monday.
I’m hoping it’s just a blip. Are you going to try the antihistamine?
I’m still going to carry on because they are having a mild sedative effect. It seems easier to get back to sleep….
Hi, you seem to be doing well on them . Anti histamines seem to be working so important you keep taking them. If you are allowed to take two I would try it one night like you said. I take mine in the morning simply because I take a lot of drugs at night. I was achy yesterday but that could be that I have been doing a lot of gardening . I darent take them at night as what I already take contains a lot of sedative . I had 4hrs last night which is great for me but woke in a terrible nightmare. My consultant was writing to a hospital a lot closer to me to see if I could have my Radiotherapy there. I hope they say yes as the other hospital is a just under two hour journey. I can’t help but worry that while I’m waiting the Cancer is growing again. Question for everyone. Have you been told you are having / had radiotherapy on the full (or what’s left of it) boob ? Hope you are all doing ok. BBB’s fighting on xx
Hi, yes I’ve been told I’m having RT to whole breast, armpit and clavicle (lower neckline) but I had a wide excision lumpectomy rather than mastectomy so not sure if that makes a difference … x
I had 2 types of radio. The first week focussed on my whole boob and that is what I think everyone normally has.
As I had v small margins on one side of my lump (0.3mm) I then had a 2nd week with a different dose targetted on that specific area.
Separately, sock news. It was a normal sock, black, clean (!), rolled into a ball. Quite comfy actually and not at all noticeable as I’m an A/B cup, so at least I wasn’t concave
The conference was a bit knackering, 4.5 hrs there, 3 miles walking and 3.5 hrs travelling back. I was, again, back in time to be tucked up with Mr Hollywood then conked out for 9 hours! No cake dreams to report
I was told that I’m having radio across the full boob as there was a lump each side otherwise I would have been okay with a targeted radio at the one area.
Seems like the whole boob is the norm, even though our boobs are no longer looking the norm!!!
Will send an update tomorrow when hopefully I know more
