Hi Charlotte, thanks for checking in. I have my planning appointment next week on 18th. I’m hoping they give me the full schedule then too. I have to have 3 weeks for 5 days a week so guessing it’s early to mid October. Thankfully I’m not working at the moment so can be very flexible on timings. Good luck tomorrow, do you know when you start your treatment? All the best x
Whoo hoo!! Another Full nights sleep!! Woke up at 5am, but otherwise no interruptions… ![]()

Good luck today Charlotte! I’m at KCH this morning, so I’ll tell all later
Have a good day all you lovely BBBs

Morning Amanda,
I got my schedule through via email the following day lovie. The oncology appointment went through a lot of detail and she did tell me that amount of radiotherapy and the dates but not the times. They came through on the email.

Is anyone else having a bone scan soon?
I’ve got mine on Friday (busy week
)
I’ll let you know about that too - obvs ![]()

Hi, I’ve had a bone scan 2 weeks ago. It’s really quick and easy. Just don’t wear anything metal, they usually scan from hips down. It’s a bed that you lie on and there is a narrow arm that goes up and down to scan you. I was out after 15 minutes. Not had any follow up yet. Good luck x
Hi Amanda, I start on the 2nd October for 5 sessions. Not sure what side your poorly boob is on but if it’s the left then you might need to do a couple of breathing exercises before you start radio.
Still waiting for bone scan, though hope they do it soon as I have been given a follow up appointment with the oncologist at the start of December to discuss the results along with how the medication is going!
Hope all is good with you
Charlotte xx
Hi Charlotte!
I start my radio on the same week but on the Friday ![]()
![]()
… got the weekend off and then mon to Thursday and that’s that ticked off.
How are doing? I think we are all getting busier again… sorry, last week was a bit bonkers.
I heard about the left boob breath in technique too. We had a talk about it when I had the onc appointment in Maidstone. I’m a rightie so we don’t need to ![]()
Curious thing: my boob got a bit itchy along the scar last week. Nothing red/hot but I little pink at either end. Then, after a lovely long hot shower, when I went to pat dry (as we do) I had little cotton threads poking out ![]()
Anyway, I’ve googled and it’s apparently called “spitting sutures”?? My body is supposed to dissolve them internally but obviously the knits on either end are a bit bulky. So, my body it “spitting them out”!!!
It was a bit of a shock seeing the loops popping out, I can tell you!!
Anyway I’ve trimmed what I can. Keeping it clean and I managed to (with clean tweezers) pull some loose ones away completely and it immediately flattens out and looks better. But, I’ve got one pesky one that won’t budge. I’m wondering if I should call Vicky (my BCN) on Monday and get her to look at it. See if she can remove them??
Hope your scar is behaving itself ![]()
![]()
Have a lovely weekend (albeit a wet one! It’s very stormy here today) xx
Bone scan easy peasy ladies!!
No metal- not even bra hooks!! I had to nip into the loo and wrestle mine off beforehand.
You’re fully clothed and it’s just a ‘pop yourself on the table’ job.
Two passes of the scanner arm. One with legs up on a block. One flat. Done!
Took next to no time…
Results in 7 days to your oncologist and they call you to discuss ![]()
Xx
Hi all,
I’ve just read all your latest news on Anyone and it’s good to see you’re all progressing into your radio.
Like you @lottie73 I’ve worked a lot of hours this week, including my ‘sock in top’ foray into London, and I’m now bloody knackered.
The trouble with the fatigue is it creeps up. You don’t know you’re overdoing it until you’ve overdone it so it’s difficult to plan and get the balance right.
Everyone around me says to keep resting but after a full week at work (I’m back on full hours) I want to go out to play but my body’s saying No. Very frustrating! All work and no play is making Bella very dull ![]()
Mr B is doing loads including most of the housework bless him, but it’s things like I want to plant a load of daffodils but just don’t have the energy. He might have to do that too.
Will try to get out for a walk this afternoon before part 3 (whatever) of the latest storm shuts us down.
Have a good one lovelies

Good afternoon ladies
Just got back from watching Lily play hockey and am a bit damp! She played at the Olympic Park today and whilst we were watching for the game to start they turned on the water cannons but I managed to escape those! However the heavens then opened and it was driving rain. I only got a bit damp but the poor players were drenched so it was a race for the hot water when we got home ![]()
![]()
Got a bit of work to do this afternoon but at least I can sit on a comfy chair with my feet up whilst typing so technically it is resting ![]()
@misswoof-88 Scars all okay though still a bit pink. One of the dogs caught one of the scars the other day but thankfully no damage done and he felt really bad about it, poor pup didn’t mean it. It might be worth giving the BCN a call, even if it’s just to put your mind at rest
@bellalasagne1 Hope you get a little walk in as the fresh air is good but when you get home I think it’s feet up time again. You need to rest and it sounds like Mr B is doing an amazing job looking after you.
Have a good weekend lovely ladies ![]()

Hi, I had a couple of sutures poke out as the scars healed. The nurse just clipped them away as I couldn’t convince my hubby to do it! Definitely worth getting checked out for reassurance as well x
Hi Bella,
This short battery life is hard to fathom. I sympathise. Your comment about daffodils made me smile. I’m exactly the same. I want to plant a load too and get more tulips in. BUT- I just can’t face it right now. My hb was scrolling through the Parker’s website the other day, and they had a good offer on bulk bulbs, but I said to him “I don’t have the energy to plant 300 bulbs right now”
Bless him, he said “you pass- I’ll plant!”![]()
… he’s never been so busy!! The garden has always been my domain. So it’s been a bit of a baptism of fire for him. He did admit that he has a new found respect for how much work I actually do around the place, that he has taken for granted in the last few years. I think he will be helping out for a while longer yet
I’m very behind with outdoor jobs.
Yes, radiotherapy progressing. I’m got some spitting sutures that need attention, so I’ll call my BCN tomorrow. It’s very itchy!!!
I’m still doing the pm antihistamine and I’m definitely sleeping better ![]()
![]()
Hope you get a bit of time to catch up yourself soon. It’s easier said than done when you are a normally busy bee though. I feel your pain!!! ![]()
How long before you go away? Perhaps you’ll find it easier when you are away from all the other distractions. You both definitely deserve a break.
![]()
Wow 300 bulbs, I think I’ve got 50
which will shortly start spouting in the hall where I dumped them last weekend ![]()
I did manage a walk yesterday but on reflection think most of it was sitting in the sun drinking coffee which was lovely ![]()
Managed a swim this morning and a bit of houseplant changeover but until I need to throw a chicken in the oven this afternoon I think that’s me done ![]()
Off on holibobs on 25th so only another 1.5 weeks at work. Can’t flipping wait!

Hi
I’m Lesley, just wanted to say hello. I’ve been following some of your hilarious threads since I was diagnosed, IDC ER8 HER2 tbc, you’ve certainly cheered me up.
I’m 61 from Essex, so just across the Estuary from some of you Kent ladies - we could wave!
A 1cm lump was found on a routine mammogram. It felt like my world had ended, just came from nowhere.
I’m 5 days post op, took dressing off today and not too bad, I’m in the big boob gang.
Follow up appointment been told 4-6 weeks, such a long time.
Been following all the stuff on radio and hormone blockers which has been really useful.
I’m itching to get back playing padelball, but that’s not happening any time soon but hey it is what it is.
I also care for my 95yr old mum who has vascular dementia and hiding this isn’t easy.
Hope everyone is having a restful Sunday xx
Welcome @chelseagirl ![]()
I’m glad our irreverent chit chats on all things ‘boob’ cheered you up.
Well done on getting through it with your sense of humour in tact ![]()
![]()
Getting through the op is one big hurdle ticked off. You’ve seen your boob with the dresssings off and have gone screaming to the hills! - another big hurdle ticked off.
This wait for the pathology results, we can all attest to, is not fun. It takes forever. But- once you get your results, you’ll also have a plan of action too.
onwards and upwards fellow big boob babe
![]()
FYI: you may get your follow up sooner than the six weeks. They wont keep you waiting unnecessarily if they get your results in sooner than that. I got mine in three weeks. It depends on the lab of course. But surgeons always try to get you in for your results as soon as they possibly can. They know it’s a horrible wait. So fingers crossed that you get a call before that. … don’t freak out if they do- it doesn’t mean you are getting bad news! It literally means- we got your results in ![]()
Welcome to the madness Lesley! So pleased that this group is helping you, I don’t know where I would have been without my crazy BBBs. It’s good to know that none of us are alone isn’t it.
I’m in Essex too, where are you based?
Sounds like you have your hands full. My mum has dementia too and lives with my sister as I work but we have her every weekend. I told her about my diagnosis as I couldn’t hide the fact I had an operation and as her short term memory is awful I fully expected her to forget but somehow she has remembered!
Hope you are recovering well. Waiting for results is hard but we are only a message away.
Sending lots of love
Lottie xx
Hi Charlotte,
How’s it hanging? ![]()
my old girl is unfettered today- and hanging loose! I just don’t care, it’s Sunday!!
Happy lounging! ![]()
All good thank you!
I’m quite comfy in the crop top, sports type bras during the day. I haven’t tried a “proper” bra yet as I like underwires ones to help support the weight but they rubbed the scar when I first tried!
Has anybody else gone back to their old faithfuls yet or is it just me being a lunatic?!?![]()
You both deserve that holiday, lots of sun and rest, hope you e got some good books to read!
I’m not green fingered at all and I normally kill everything do I leave the gardening to the hubby. It’s a good excuse ![]()
Hope you’ve had a nice break as I’m sure you’ve got another busy week ![]()

Hi Lottie
I’m in Leigh-on-Sea, so hospital is Southend about 10 minutes away, apparently they have a brand new all singing and dancing radiotherapy machine!
My mum is blissfully unaware, I’m letting the carers do all the work and stepping right back.
I’ve also got a dog and 5 cats thankfully they’ve got the memo and are behaving themselves.
My friend came to stay for a few days which has been a great help but I’m flying solo now.
Just hoping margins are clear at the follow up but realise 1 in 10 might have to have another op, but for now one step at a time.
Here’s to another week of healing for everyone
Xx
Hi
Yes when the nurse called on Friday she said it might be sooner and she’d ring rather than send a letter as post here is dire!
Yes Op a big tick, and the big reveal wasn’t too bad at all.
I’m quite enjoying the comfy bras but its only day 5!
I still think I’m still in a bit of shock about the whole thing tbh, but guess no one ever expects it.
Xx
