8 October, a long 16 day wait, they have results but no clinic space until then. I’m struggling a bit x

Oh blimey, it woukd have been better not to tell you they had them, if that’s the case 
It’s obviously a very busy breast clinic, but it’s a long time to keep you waiting… there’s obviously a lot of us out there!
My surgeon down here, I have to say, was great. He seemed to really understand and empathise with us about the wait for results.
Are yiu managing to keep busy? It seems to be a common theme… if you stay busy, there’s less time for over thinking and torturing yourself.
I should be busy but got a stinking cold so I’ve got way too much time on my hands.
I’m going back to work next week.
I joined a choir but not actually been yet, hopefully next week.

At least you have a date, but that is a terribly long time to wait. I hope you’re ok and distracting yourself. Honestly it’s the worst time waiting and easy to over think. Be kind to yourself. Sending lots of positive wishes xxx

I completely get you. I know my impatience and intolerance is based on my internal superiority or “you’ve no idea what I’m going through you idiot, get out of my way” complex. Tends to manifest itself in Sainsbury’s mostly…
Sorry to hear about all the waiting and hope you get answers soon. Information is very much part of our armour.
In other news, I seem to have regained some energy (5 weeks after last zap) and planted all 70 bulbs at the weekend. Hoorah! Some of them may be in upside down (will they right themselves 
) but hey they’re in!
On train home from work as I write this. Another busy day but only 1 more to go then 
to 
. I packed on Saturday so I have the chance to remember what I’ve forgotten. 
is in my case, optimistically. Mustn’t forget boob (wearing it now) as a sock will get wet and saggy and not be a great look amongst the bronzed beauties

Hi all, hope you are keeping well! I had my bone dexa scan at the end of August and because I hadn’t heard anything about the results, I phoned the breast cancer nurse team today. Apparently all normal, which is good news, and that’s why they hadn’t been in touch… anyway if anyone is waiting for their results, might be worth chasing. Good luck xxx

That’s good news Amanda! I had mine too lovie. Letter from surgeon just said “normal for my age” ( thanks, I think)
I start my radiotherapy on Friday
How’s the meds? I’m into month two now and going ok. I’m trying switching to taking it in the am as I’m getting night sweats most nights now…
I’ll let you know how it goes
Apart from that though, I’m doing ok. I’m working out with a PT who specialises in breast cancer re-hab, so that’s helping too. Good for my head to be doing something positive

How long did you wait for your bone scans? I’m coming to the end of the first month of Letrozole and haven’t heard anything about a scan appointment yet.
All going well here with the medication though I have been having bleeding gums the last couple of days, not sure if that’s a side effect or just me getting older!
Off for first radio on Thursday and hoping that I don’t get too tired after the first two sessions as I have a busy weekend!

I can’t remember if it was my surgeon or the oncologist that ordered the bone scan, but it might be worth putting a call in to you BCN to chivvy them up. You really want a baseline score before you are on letrozole too long…
I think mine was already ordered even before I had the first oncology/radiotherapy appointment??
So, I would have thought you should have heard by now… won’t hurt to call and ask 
Re your gums- yep, probably your estrogen levels dropping. My gums are also hypersensitive and prone to bleed if I’m not careful with my toothbrush.
Before I started hrt I had a really bad case of mouth ulcers. I had never, ever suffered with them before. It was awful. When I spoke to the pharmacist he was very dismissive of the link, but when I had my menopause appointment a while later, I mentioned the ulcers and she said that it WAS definitely declining estrogen. It can also make us more prone to tooth decay because you can get dry mouth/less saliva. It’s something to be aware of.
I read somewhere about switching to a non alcohol mouthwash, and that has really helped me recently. I’m using a Colgate one and it’s lovely. It does the job but doesn’t sting or dry out. Might be worth a try if you are a lover of ones like listerine (I was). But the switch to this gentler one has really helped
Also, suger free mints can help with dry mouth too, if you find that creeping up in the coming weeks. I’ve got packets of SF polos everywhere 
I’ve just started my second month on anastrozole and they gave me a different brand. My knees started aching tonight… . I’m hoping it’s more to do with me tidying up the patio on Monday and doing too much 
It wasn’t horrendous, but it did make me wonder… if it carries on, I’ll ask to have the original brand next month…

Hi all, it’s confession time. Although the zoom call was interesting I fell asleep about 10 minutes into it. This is what I do now. It’s lethal for me to sit down !! I even fall asleep on phone calls and in company. It’s frustrating but funny at the same time. I’m putting this down to the Letrozole and NOT old age. I will have finished my first moth of it tomorrow but can’t get hold of a prescription to continue. GP surgery say they have had no communication from the hospital and the hospital receptionist is ‘trying ‘to get a Dr to sign prescription. Will be on the case again today if I’m awake will be thinking of you two ladies starting your radiotherapy on Thursday and Friday,

Hi Sheelagh, I thought I was the only one who kept dropping off and I’m pleased I’m not alone!!
I used the NHS app to get a repeat prescription as my surgery is a nightmare to get through to and speak to someone. I had a message a couple of hours later saying that the prescription had been signed off and sent to the pharmacy of my choice. It was so easy so I think I’ll do that every time. I haven’t actually picked the tablets up yet but I’m sure they are there waiting for me
