Good luck for today! Thinking of you :sparkling_heart:

Thank you. Good luck to all of us. As Sheelagh said “bring it on”:muscle:

I got my prescription filled after bantering the gp receptionist and emailing her a copy of the oncologist letter saying “anastrozole “:roll_eyes: I think they sit on this stuff far too long before they upload it to your records!

But if a palaver, but it’s now on my regular meds to do the online orders too.

I’m on a different brand and I’m not enjoying the night sweats and knee twinges on these ones. I’ll try and get the Key Pharma brand again next time. Of course it could just be that it’s the estrogen being stripped out :woman_shrugging:
We’ll see :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::four_leaf_clover:

Hello ladies,
One down- four to go :muscle:

Pretty straight forward. I do think I’m going to be sore next week :face_with_peeking_eye:. I could feel the heat after today.

I’m blathering on moisturiser!:crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

Well done Alison!

I had my 2nd one today and it went much better than yesterday. I was so nervous yesterday and feel like this is the worst part of the whole journey for me. I hate hospitals so that doesn’t help! I think the holding your breath thing and keeping it between the two lines is quite hard too and I’m constantly looking at the little screen :joy: However today I had one of the radiographers from yesterday who was really nice and the lovely man who did my initial appointment and tattoos and I felt a lot more comfortable (David the consultant radiographer was informed of my fear ahead of time so I think he’s been going out of his way to make things easier). Boob feels very warm tonight and a bit pink so looking forward to a nice bubble bath and moisturise!

On another note I’ve picked up my new tablets for the 2nd month of Letrozole and I’ve been given a different brand - I’m scared if this will this make a difference to side effects :grimacing: I had Cipla before and this lot are Amarox.

Hope you’re all keeping well ladies

Lots of love

Charlotte :sparkling_heart:

Hi Alison

I’ve taken your advice and bought some mouth wash and sugar free polos, hopefully they’ll help :crossed_fingers:t2:

Night flushes remain the same and I’m finding taking the tablets in the morning mean I’m getting the side effects evening and night time which I think I can manage.

Joints are a bit achy and I feel like 80 when I stand up if I’ve been sitting for a while which the guys at work are enjoying tormenting me about :joy::joy:

Hoping to join a gym soon with Lils, I’ll use the pool rather than the equipment though! I’m waiting until a few weeks after radio is over before we sign up do I don’t waste a months money by possibly being too tired to go.

Hope you’re not doing too much this weekend hun, don’t tire yourself out and that’s an order :wink:

Good luck! We will be having RT at the same time so can compare notes x

Hi @misswoof-88, I hope you manage to get a consistent brand, they shouldn’t be chopping you around especially as it’s for 5-10 years … all the best for RT x

Hey all,

Back from holiday. Took me 3 days to wind down and only really did so once I turned off all my phone notifications. I didn’t realise how much I needed a mental break, so I thoroughly recommend it once you’re ’done’.
We visited a beautiful monastery and I had such a calming moment there looking out at the view, it was if someone somewhere was saying ‘“you’ve done this, it’s all over”. Such a vivid moment.

So pleased to hear you’re all progressing well x Keep going, hopefully it’ll be over soon for you too.

Welcome back Bella!
How’s everyone doing? (Burp,fart,ouch!) :rofl::rofl:

Well, I’m 3 down, 2 to go. Very stiff shoulder and a hot boob (& not in a sexy way) but otherwise :+1: roll on Thursday pm and ‘ding dong this witch is still alive’ :notes:
And my breath is minty fresh :rofl::rofl:

I had a hot flush on the radio table today, that was interesting. On the plus side, it was bloody cold in there (as usual) so it gave me a bit of central heating mid treatment. Got to look on the bright side eh🤷‍♀️

Good luck boob babes for your own appointments this week
Hugs all round :hugs::hugs:

Good look for tomorrow lovie. fingers crossed :crossed_fingers: :kissing_heart:

Well done so far, sounds like it’s going well and you are nearly done. I’m not looking forward to 15 sessions….this may be a really daft question but how can you stop your boob feeling hot? Can you put ice on it or take a cold shower? I’ve not seen any advice for this … wondering if it’s painful and how long it lasts. Do they check how you are feeling before each session?
Lots of love and ding dong loudly!!!
X

Thanks so much xx

Hi Amanda,
Thanks hon. In answer to your question re hot boob: I’m finding a cool face cloth with a hand fan the best way to get the heat out. And I’ve been keeping some moisturiser in the fridge for evenings when it’s really red.

It’s not like that every night btw. It’s a wierd one. I asked if they give me less/more each day and they said no. The fractions are set by the oncologist, which didn’t really clarify anything :woman_shrugging: but it’s strange that some days are sorer than others and not cumulative…

My first day was the worst, which seems to be unusual. I guess we all react differently, which doesn’t help you at all, I’m sorry. :roll_eyes:… that said, yes, they do check how you are on a regular basis and offer advice.

My advice to you would be to moisturise as much as you can. I was also advised to moisturise an hour before each session as well, (just to make sure it’s properly soaked in) which I’m doing each day, as near as I can.
The fairer skinned you are, the more you should do it apparently :thinking:

On the plus side, I’m finding that I’m getting less hot flushes on the evenings that I’ve had radiotherapy and I’m also sleeping ok (so far :woman_shrugging:). I think I’m more tired afterwards perhaps??

Anyway, I just keep counting down the percentages and it soon passes. Xx
