I’m so sorry Adi that your having a bad time with FEC3, I had my FEC2 cancelled last week due to low WBC, so slightly fed up, but a least I got an extra week of being well and out of bed/ sofa. We worry if we get our treatment, we worry if we don’t. It’s a confusing difficult time that we are all going through.
Don’t know if anyone fancys a meet up? And if there are suggestion to where? Take care ladies
Love Ruth x
Hi Adi,
Tax is different to FEC - whether better or worse I’m not sure!
I didn’t feel at all queasy on Tax and I believe that’s very common. The SEs also don’t really hit for about 48 hours or more so you do get a little bit of extra “grace” time.
To give you a time scale, I had my first Tax a week last Wednesday. I felt fine on Thursday and by the end of Friday felt a little peculiar - slightly floaty. On Thursday I had the Neulasta jab that can cause joint aches but didn’t affect me too badly when I had it before.
On Saturday I went downhill and up until Tuesday this week was really in a bad way - I ached from head to toe and could barely move - my legs just didn’t belong to me. I felt as though I had mumps and my saliva glands were very painful whenever I ate anything. My mouth felt like the bottom of a cat litter tray! I took codeine and ibuprofen for the pain which worked but the codeine gave me dreadful constipation which caused a whole lot of other problems! I also had heartburn and slept very badly and I have slightly numb lips and fingertips.
Since then I’ve got a lot better and feel pretty good now, although I’m physically very tired and can’t walk far but I can cope with that OK. For me the queasiness from FEC lasted longer than the aches from Tax but the aches were more unpleasant in the short term. It’s a toss up as to which one was worse/better really!
I’m going back to work on Monday as I did after FEC 2 & 3 - they reserve me a parking space next to the building and I only work part time so I think I’ll be OK, although if not I’ll just stop. My work have been brilliant and very accomodating and it’s nice to go back every now and then to feel a bit useful!
A meet would be lovely - maybe somewhere in MK? I only go there for shopping and the cinema (although my husband is there snowboarding right this minute!) so does someone who knows the eateries know where would be nice?

Morning Ladies thanks for all your support. Think it would be a good idea for us all to meet up. Shall we try and pencil in some dates? Appreciate with all our different treatment days this will be an interesting one to organise. Any suggestions but would prefer to do it after 10th April as have my daughter home this week who has come home for mothers day and lives abroad. And 13th April have TAX. What a busy life we lead:)! Adi x
What about 18- 20th any good can’t do end of the week if all goes well with treatment going away. Has anyone got any other ideas xx good luck with the Tax!
I have TAX2 on the 13th as well, so as late as poss after that would suit - would hope (fingers crossed) to be OK for some sedate pigging out and generally having fun by the 20th as long as I haven’t got to walk too far!
Ooooh - just remembered - my daughter will be home from uni so could chauffeur me if necessary!

Wed 20 th is ok for me. How’s does lunch sound? Does anyone have food preference?
I eat pretty much anything, although have gone off Indian a bit since starting chemo. Don’t know why as I normally love it. TBH I doubt I’ll be able to taste much anyway so it probably doesn’t matter!

I hope you all get to meet up ladies. I know just how important the support and understanding of others going through the same thing can be.
I had all my treatment at Northampton General - Lumpectomy, Chemo and Rads and also all follow-up appointments are there. I really thought they were great there throughout and so pleased I opted for N’pton at the beginning.
I live in a village just outside Wellingborough so it’s only about 15 minutes drive from me.
My next appointment there is on 21st April when I am due my first Mommogram since diagnosis.
Enjoy your lunches and may it be the first of many more

Hi Ladies would love to meet up. Can’t do 20th unfortunately as start my Taxols on 13th and they are weekly so whilst you are having lunch I will be having a different type :(! I am having my Taxols weekly which seems to be different to everyone one else I think. I have twelve weeks of these so I will be out of action every Wednesday - it sounds a long time. Keep in touch and will meet up with you when I can. Hope all your SEs are being kind and everyone is keeping positive although miserable out there today. Whenever you do meet let me know and I am prepared to travel subject to being fit enough Take Care - Adi
Hi Ladies, did you all manage to meet up yesterday? Hope you did and had a lovely time. Please let me know if you have arranged a further meet up as would love to join you. Had second Taxol yesterday and that will be the case for the next 10 wednesdays so Weds are out for me. Happy to travel. Have a lovely day. Adi x
Hi Adi, no nothing came of it, no meeting. Hope your treatment was ok and very little SE. I’m up for a meet, it would be great seeing other people my next chemo is may 4 th so week after is good for me. Come on guys I know we are a bit thin on the ground in this area, who would like a coffee chat and hopefully a laugh
Hi Dragonfly, SEs are ok, just very hyper from steroids, to be honest I don’t them to make me hyper. Do a good job on my own!!! Shame about meeting not going ahead. We need to be proactive and lets start arranging one now ladies. Obviously I cannot do any of the next Wednesdays. How about a Monday or a Friday - up for suggestions. Adi x
How about Monday 16th may? There anyone else that can do this day?
Monday 16th May is in my diary! Hope that we can all meet up. Next question is where and what time. Happy to do any location as we all seem to be fairly close and will all have to travel a bit. Well done Bluedragonfly. Adi
I can do the 16th - I have my last Tax on May 4th and I won’t have started rads by then, so unless my rads planning appointment comes through for that day it’s good for me. I’m also going to LGFB at Luton on the 17th - really looking forward to it!
Maybe Milton Keynes or Northampton? I’m about 8 miles west of Bedford so both those are about the same distance from me but I’m not sure where everyone else lives.
Going down to Reading next Tuesday for a lunch time meet with some of the more southern ladies - anyone else going then? Have a look at the Southern BA Coffee Morning thread if you want to join us.

Mk would be easy for me as I am not driving if that’s possible xp
Looks like it will be MK on 16th then ladies. Looking forward to it. Next question is where and what time. Bluedragonfly I would be happy to pick you up as it will be on my way and fairly familiar with MK (famous last words)!. Adi x
Thanks Adi, but I’m outside MK towards Buckingham, I can get a lift into mk no worries, Northampton just a little to far away. Next is what time and where?

Hi Ladies do we want to lunch just like ladies do or just natter over cake/coffee? Lots of nice restaurants that do two for one vouchers or somewhere like Debenhams coffee shop? I am quite happy with whatever everyone would like. Input please. Enjoy rest of the day as going for a long walk now to get these steroids out of my system (I hope). Adi
I don’t mind debenhams good I will go with majority, just like to meet other ladies in same situation.
