Hi all, diagnosed with IDC ++ her2- in feb and started dose dense EC in March. My first 2 cycles were hell on earth! I was dealing with almost unbearable sickness, diarrhoea, fatigue etc for 8 days each cycle. I was admitted to hospital twice as I was unable to manage the symptoms properly at home. I had a weeks break after my second cycle and my oncologist moved my treatment to once every 3 weeks rather than every 2 weeks as my first 2 cycles were.
Anyway, this cycle ( third cycle ) has been so different… i barely have symptoms at all. I’ve had slight fatigue on treatment day and the day after. I’ve been able to eat and drink just fine and my nausea has been easily controlled using the tablets provided. While I’m absolutely not complaining, I am more curious as to why the sudden drastic change in symptoms… has anyone else had this experience? I have one more round of EC left before I go into weekly taxol.

Sorry you haven’t had a reply yet , just responding so hopefully someone will see your post who’s had a similar experience . You could maybe also ask about this in the Ask our Nurses your questions section of the forum . Glad you are getting an easier ride this time round . Best wishes Jill

I can’t comment on why your symptoms have changed, during my chemotherapy the symptoms got worse not better!
Have you joined the chemo starters group for March where you can support from others having chemotherapy at the same time as you.
You may want to call your team for advice or BCN nurses as already suggested.
Take care
