chillow and lady care magnet

hello
ive ordered a chillow to see if i can get a little more sleep lol

id like to try a ladycare magnet too
my cancer feeds off hormones so can i use it
should i ring bc nurse 1st?
is there any evidence it can make things worse or bring cancer back

i realise these are daft worries

i already wear a bioflow magnet on my wrist, i presume id need to ditch this one??

thanks for any help

I have never heard of a ladycare magnet but don’t imagine it would be a problem used with hormone therapy. However, I always think it is good idea to check these things out with the medics.

Good luck

Hi there

I’m wearing a ladycare magnet at the mo. Have been wearing it for about 2mths now, I bought it from Boots. It was recommended by quite a few ladies on this site who have had good results and it is not halmful.I would try anything to elevate the night sweats that i get!! I personally haven’t had much improvement but i’m still hopeful

I was told the ladycare magnet works by messing around with your hormones and therefore is not suitable for er+ bc. However, like lots of things on here, different hosps/bcn advise different things.

I have been using Chillow for a year now and yes it does help. i find it best ti lay it downwards on my pillow si that part of it is under my shoulders/back. It cools me enough to drop off to sleep but when I get the next one I have to put it on the floor to cool off again before the 3rd one etc. Been thinking about getting anouther one but heard about the Ladycare on here so googled it and it says that it has had good results with Tamoxifen user and no reported problems with ladies who have had BC. So bought one yesterday from Boots £19.49. Its in place and I am waiting but today I have developed a cough and cold thanks to OH & his germs! So it may not work for a while. I will post if it does me any good or not.
Best wishes Wendy

thankyou for your views
im awaiting my chillow
and have left a message for my bc nurse to ask her about the magnet

Hi All

I have been using the Ladycare magnet since starting Tamoxifen in January - and it really really helps. Can cope with SE now…I asked my oncologist first and she said it wouldn’t be a problem to use.
Hope this helps.

Wendle - I love your cat - what breed is it? Mine is part Cornish Rex.

Have been thinking about the chillow, how much are they? I have terrible hot flushes through the night but I always wake up first thing in the morning feeling really cold so I’m not sure if it’s the right thing for me.

Hi I have been using a chillow pillow for the last 2 years and take it with me if I ever sleep away from home. They are strange things really quite flat so I could’nt use it as just a pillow in any case as you say sometimes feel very cold! anyway I keep mine under my normal pillow and its wonderful would’nt be without it.
they cost £25.00 worth every penny. If you look on ebay you can sometimes grab a bargain. hope this helps

Linda

my b c nurse said its fint to use the magnet so im off to see where is the cheapest now

i so hope it helps
im barely getting 3 hrs broken sleep a night, its worse than when ryan was a baby lol

I have had the magnet in my knickers for about 4 weeks and occasionally I get a bit over heated but in minutes it passes, I have started Tamoxifen and still not got any night sweats or hot flushes in the night and I do feel that the magnet is helping.

Bit of a passion killer though !

Hi
If youre an ebayer, theres 1 on sale just now at £6 currently-I was recommended to get 1 so have been using for coupla weeks-so far so good!!
(Megga weird tho) lol !!!

both arrived today so will keep you informed lol
thankyou for the help

I bought a ladycare magnet , as I was having dreadful hot flushes and night sweats , one of the other ladies reccommended it and I was desperate .
Only been wearing it three weeks but have seen a definate improvement , hot flushes down from every 40 minutes to one an hour and much less intense , plus the night sweats are less troublesome . I have to try and make sure I wear clothes that it does´nt show , ( I have quite a fat stomach ) and while I was having rads I had to remember to take it out as I was´nt sure how it might affect the machine .
It´s a really strong magnet , I was changing my pants and dropped them on the floor with the magnet still attatched , my folding umbrella was also on the floor , ( yes I know , I´m an untidy mare !) and low and behold , my umbrella started moving towards the Ladycare until with a last rush it attatched itself !! Frightened the dog , he raced out the room .

Not personally tried the chillow , but we bought one last summer for the dogs crate and he loves it , keeps him cool at night .

Well the image of the umbrella racing towards your knickers has made my Easter ! Thanks for giving me a good laugh x take care

I too have been using the ladycare magnet for about a week and so far so good. I am certainly getting some decent sleep now. However, I have been warned by a work colleague that the magnet can have a detrimental effect on electric wheelchairs. (I work with disabled children) Apparently she caused mayhem when one of the wheelchairs suddenly stopped dead for no apparent reason. It was later she discovered the chair reacts badly to magnets. I return to work after Easter and the mind boggles at the havoc I could cause by wearing it!!

hi there
i use a laplop on a lap tray do magnets affect laptops?

i do find the magnet sits too low in some of my pants lol as they are little pants
and it does show a bit through clothes

with the chillow, do you lay on it all night or drag it over when you need it?
do you put it in a pillow case?

thanks

Do you know, you have made me wonder about the lap top. I would have said that I use a lap top and the magnet hasn’t made any difference, but I have had some recent trouble with the lap top connecting to the wireless system. It has been really playing up and I’m wondering now if it is because of the magnet.
I haven’t tried the magnet with anything ‘glamorous’ yet - but Bridget Jones knickers up to the armpits jobs with jeans keeps it well hidden.

I don’t know the strength of these magnets, but neodymium magnets around laptops, bank cards…you know the electronic strip in them, heart pace makers are a no no…so no wrapping your legs around any susceptible pensioners, if you know what I mean…

I’d never considered the implications of wearing a magnet particularly with things like bank cards; it hadn’t even crossed my mind. I’d found out about the electric wheelchair problem from someone else but I guess I’d best keep well clear of any susceptible pensioners too!!!
I wonder how the magnets fare going through X Ray at airports? I’d hate to find that I have brought Heathrow to a standstill.
