it says on the website that ladies travel daily without problems but to carry a leaflet in case asked lol
i might email them about the laptop(sat here doing it anyway with no probs)
i also need to ask them if i need to stop wearing bioflow wrist band
I have to say all this about the Ladycare has given me such a laugh . I´m envisioning everything rushing towards us and clinging on as we go about our daily tasks . Laptops malfunctioning , security gates flashing with warning klaxons blaring ,security guards with guns drawn . the idea of Heathrow brought to its knees because of all these women with magnets in their knickers is just hilarious , I dread to think what it could do if you were allowed onto the flight deck !
It does´nt seem to affect suseptable pensioners . My husband is a pensioner and has a load of metal bars and bolts and screws in his back , so far he does´nt seem to have found an unexplainable attraction for me , but I live in hope !
Lilac lady : Big knickers rule !!
Me again , just been reading a totally unrelated post , but another lady mentions the Ladycare magnet and says it´s brilliant , except she got stuck to the sainsbury trolley !! LOL
What a great topic really made me laugh thanks girls. Linda
Well ladies this is such a laugh!! I am using both only 10 days of the magnet so far and am hoping its improving things for me. I did have one night this week when I only woke twice. As for the power of the magnet I took my big pants off to have a shower, chucked them on the floor like you do and they shot across the floor to the washing basket (yes its metal)hint or what! Off to sainsburys later so will let OH push the trolley.
With the chillow I have in on my pillow, go to sleep then at 1st wake up its hot so throw it on the floor and replace it at next wake up etc. Ususally have it lengthwise so that part of it is under my shoulders OH is encouraging me to get anothe one to lay on.

PS My cat is called Leo and he is LIlac Point Siamese
Leo is a stunner and looks like he knows it too!!
Over Easter I’ve found an unfortunate link to eating dark chocolate and getting hot flushes. I don’t normally eat chocolate (as we’re both real chocoholics and trying to lose weight) but husband and I decided to treat ourselves to some and have had really bad hot flushes on those nights. Oh and put on 2lb as well!
Must give the chillow a try especially with warmer nights coming up. I’m feeling worried about hot flushes during the summer…
take care all

oh no dark chocolate “is my one weakness”, seriously though I do eat dark chocolate so searching now for any evidence that this is true.
thanks Elinda Leo does know he is georgeous, and he is a titled cat as I have shown him quite a lot, it was my passion breeding and showing cats before BC. I decided to give up the breeding so do not really have anything to show now either. So we bought a motorhome and go away as much as we can. Got a wedding to go to later today and what a lovely day for it it is.

HI Wendy
I haven’t done a search on dark chocolate and hot flushes - it may just be me so don’t panic!! Perhaps having the chocolate in the evenings was the worst thing.
Good for you getting a motorhome and having trips. We’re thinking about some trips now as I’m recovering. Our cat hates being left on his own so we’re going down the pet sitter route and luckily my mum has offered for our first trip. What do you do with your cat/s?

Hi Elinda
(thought I had posted this already but its not showing)
We went away last week with our Grandaughters aged 8 & 5. Took our 2 dogs as well. The cats (I have 5) stay at home and either my son or next door neighbour see to them every day. They do not roam as we have an overhang of mesh around our garden wall so they cant get our and others cannot get in.
Make the most of it and go away as much as you can the cat will cope!.
I think that the magnet must be doing something as my flushes seem not to be as intense as they were although I still have one at least every 2 hours day and night.

Doesn’t cocoa have caffeine in it? That would be what is causing the flushes.

chillow works well for me, doesn’t stop the night sweats, but cools my down quicker. Will try the lady magnet, anything is worth a go!

I’m on Tamoxifen. When I heard about the ladycare magnet I couldn’t get down to boots fast enough!! Biggest problem for me been hot flushing and night sweets plus irritability (poor hubby). I can’t believe the results. Hot flushes have completely stopped and I’ve noticed a definate improvement in sleep plus I’m a nicer person. Phew. Have to admit, my flushes were not what I’d consider severe but bad enough that they were bothering me several times a day. The instructions say it is safe to use with Tamoxifen, but I’ve decided to double check that with my BC nurse and ONC as well although I’m fairly sure reading other comments here it’s not a problem. For £20 it’s worth a try. x
I’m also a fan of ladycare and have had mine since February this year - it’s certainly made a difference even though I occasionally get stuck to the fridge!
What a bummer about chocolate, is nothing sacred? For goodness sake, after all we’ve been through we deserve a treat!!
Why can’t SEs of Tx include honey-bronzed skin and losing a stone? (I know, I know, it’s saving our lives…)
P.S. My ‘cat’ is called Bronwyn and she’s a Badger-Faced Welsh Mountain Sheep!
thanks for making me smile today, ladies. Ive been getting horrible tropical moments (hot flushes), night sweats etc. So am going to invest in a ladycare asap.

I’m tempted to try the Ladycare magnet as for the past 4 weeks or so, I’ve been getting hot flushes. I’m interested in complementary therapies anyway, so would like to give this one a go and I can’t see how the effects could be purely placebo, I mean, you either get the flushes or not. One thing that bothers me is that I read it may work by encouraging oestrogen production (see article below, paragraph 6 and 13) which is a no-no for me as my cancer was ER+. Advice from doctors is going to be useless, because the majority of them will poo poo anything complementary anyway.

Hi , I´ve had my magnet for several months now . It´s definately made a difference .
Really hot drenching flushes that left me soaking were every 40 minutes , now , although I still get them they are sometimes well over an hour , and don´t last as long . The nights have improved as well . There´s a long way to go , I´m still getting very regular flushes ,but thre was definately improvement . Plus I´m taking various herbal infusions .
My cancer was ER+ as well ,but i spoke to the breast cancre nurse at the Haven and she said go with it .
I´ve received no advice from my onc , he´s interested in my disease not my person .
As for the effects being purely placebo . No I don´t go along with that . Anyone suffering flushes and sweats , knows only too well if something is working or not , you cannot "fudge " that , and who would want to .
I´ve also had one session of acupunture , and I´m going for a second one this week .
Good luck ,
Kris
I’ve just ordered the magnet online at Boots but having read various comments about ER + bc, I’m a little concerned. Mine was positive and I’m reading conflicting advice. I really want to give it a go. I’m toying with the idea of ringing the bcn tomorrow.
Let us know how you get on. But I doubt if nurses know much more either. They can only be guided by what the consultant thinks and will err on the side of caution to cover themselves. But I’ll probably do the same and ask for advice just to see what response I get. Mention about the oestrogen stimulation that the magnet possibly causes and I bet they’ll say, better not try it then
If you don’t mention about the oestrogen thing, they’ll think it’s just placebo and if it helps the patient, then why not? Hopefully, you may come across a nurse or doc who’s read a lot of research into it and can give you an informed answer, but I doubt that. Sorry for being negative.
It would be a disappointment if it was inadvisable as according to comments here, it seems to work and I’d love to give it a go.
Its funny Steph cos I was thinking exactly the same regards info from bcn. I’m beginning to think they will probably recommend not taking it due to ER+ and the fact that it says it stimulates oestrogen. It would be great to find a definitive answer. Heres to hoping!!!
