Rachel, so sorry to hear you had such a c**p weekend, some people hey.Love your tattoo by the way.
Lyn. so many people have said how grey hair suits me too,and also ive heard that grey is fashionable as well so this could mean for the 1st time in years im actually ‘in fashion’ LOL
Im doing fine got Herceptin No.4 on Thursday…last time i was in and out in 2 hrs start to finish so thats ok considering ive got 14 to go after this one…yikes LOL.
wow sue, brilliant news re CT scan. Bet you are feeling right back to normal now you are on nights !!?? Are you still struggling with your hair? Still hate mine but happy enough with life in general LOL - speak soon x Debx
Ah rach, your weekend sounds s**t mate. good job you have a wonderful family to support you and great friends who are there and understand. Do people think that once ‘active treatment’ is over, we never have to worry again…if only eh mate.
Sue brill news about the scan, so pleased for you.
Gina and gemjunkie, big group ((((hug))) girls
Sally, nice to see you on fb now, not before time lol
I like lots of you, am missing all my cp buddies, i hope loads of you make it to tamworth in june, think we all need it. I am off to tamworth this weekend to support shazzas pink night, anything for a party me lol
Take care everyone, miss you all, luv your nutty notts lass xxx
rachel your FIL must be such a dumbass to treat you like he does… your a totally fantastic person and the only person thats missing out is him.
mumszy and others with joint pain, its maybe from the chemo or arimidex and less so by tamoxifen. Mine is due to the chemo knocking me into early menopause and causes pains in finger joints, left hip and ankle, coxyx and right elbow.
if your on arimidex its main side effect is joint pain and some people need to take regular pain meds and anti inflammatories along with it just to operate on a day to day basis.
btw Hannah is ok Sue she has exzema and been treated with betnovate which has helped so much and shes back to normal… shes still to go back to breast clinic on friday for a check up but all is well!!!
iv been referred to gynae about getting my ovaries out and to plastic surgeons about Mx and recon for the BRCA2. mum and sis both got negative results for the gene so dad has just been tested.
have a couple of interviews this week for jobs closer to home but not sure how ill do as my brain is still in meltdown and im totally shattered… but planning on going back to work beginning of april on phased return to my current job.
Sorry I haven’t posted for ages ladies, just been trying to get back to some form of normality! Also been kept very busy with my new adorable little chihuahua puppy (mostly picking up sh*t and wiping up pee!).
Sue, great news re your scan!!
Rach, I can only echo what Lulu said; your FIL sounds like a right a*se, he doesn’t deserve a daughter in law like you. Try not to let him get to you hon.
Lulu, fab news about Hannah, I bet you’re both so relieved. Good luck with your consultant appointments; lots of big decisions to make. I’m starting to think about having recon with pig skin (wtf) like She’s having, just wish I wasn’t such a wuss…
Sally, good luck with next Herceptin; it’ll soon be over.
Can’t believe my periods have re-started, gggrrrr. I feek like Pixie, going through the menopause and puberty at the same time! And my chest is so red and itchy from rads, it’s driving me insane; how long can I expect it to last???
Lots of love to everyone else not mentioned. Really look forward to seeing most of you in Tamworth in June! xxxxxx
thank you my lovely chms - you make me feel so much better just knowing you lot are out there and that I can talk to you any time xxxxx (((((HUGS)())))
Sue I have just started week three and I am crawling home every day from work because like you I am throwing myself into it and the patients are wonderful - how gr8 to deliver a baby boy! I diagnosed and treated a lady with a bad chest yesterday and I hope to get her into rehab within the next few months - I hope she will feel beeter than she has done for yrs.
Lulu good luck for the interviews - but give yorself tine to feelt better huni xxxxx
Caro - you got a posh rat then? (lol I dont mean it honestly) actually he looks sooooo cute on FB but ohh the house training is no fun is it? as for the rads itch it can take up to a month to go. after treatment has finshed
sally thinking of you with the herceptin
Re the hot flushes - is anyone else finding themselves just dropping off to sleep - when wham - heart rate up, skin prickling and heat radiating from every pore? then it take me ages to get backto sleep.
Oh and re tamworth in June where are we staying and does anyone want to share ?
TTFN xxxxxx
Yes Rach, I’ll share with you again if you’re happy to?! Hopefully I didn’t keep you awake with my farting too much last time, lol, I certainly enjoyed your cuddles to warm me up Are you going for fri and sat night??
My rat-dog is so adorable and the pics on fb do not do him justice. But yes, the house training is starting to take it’s toll!
I’m getting the hot flushes just like you mention hon; keep waking me up in the night, but also restarted periods too, wtf?! xxxx
rach, ipod in…2 hours to drift off…just as you start to drift…wham, red hot flush, pulse racing and covers thrown off, sweat pouring from everywhere and then…wide awake again!!! and its getting worse since having overies out…joy!!!
Girls can u all message me back on fb, i need to know who’s coming to tamworth…
friday night for shazza’s party
saturday night for the jump and pink night
if your coming with someone or if you want to share
I am going to check out the holiday inn express to see what discount we can get for a group booking when i go this weekend.
Hi gerties
just catching up with all the news - theres a lot going on.
caro - a puppy - lovely - will get on FB and have a peak! You will cook for a at least 2 weeks after rads, in fact this is when I really cooked and I had 2 nasty burns on my collar bone. All gone now and skin is back to normal. The itching was hell, so I can really sympathize!
Rach, agree with the other gerties re your fil - what a nightmare for you and difficult for your fab man too. Try to not let it get you down - you are a special lady and we love you!
Sue - back in work mode, well done you and delivering a baby - fab. Great news re your scan!!! so chuffed.
Sally - I’m in your camp - horrendous aches and pains with herceptin, especially when resting. So if its not my legs aching, its a hot sweat and as you say gerties, just dropping off and wham, bam, quilt off, sweating buckets! No sign of my periods returning, mores the pity eh, just seems so final to me. Any of you who had tax got your periods back??? Seems that tax really does fry your ovaries.
Lulu - so glad Hannah is ok and your interview sounds fab - best of luck honi.
Gina and Lynn - big hugs to you both.
Pix - hope your getting on ok and your first week back to work ok?
Really struggling with the hot sweats and now on clonidine (think they are a betablocker all you nurses???). Early days, but think they are making me feel a bit spaced out and fuzzy headed. Feel like I am draggin myself around at the mo, just so, so tired and have to get that case out for St Lucia on Tues!
Hi to all, big hugs gerties, miss you all
xxxxxxx

hope everybody else is well, looking forwards to seeing you all at tamworth julie x
julie im gonna apply for DLA for my fingers cos it limits me doing lots of things like lifting pots, peeling veggies and even driving so gonna give it a bash.
also girlies would just like to introduce you to breast care nurse Lulu.
Hey Lulu - that is fantastic news - how amazing - you will be absolutely brilliant. Wish I’d had you as my bcn. You so deserve some excellent news like this, you are going to help so many people. Just wow!
Hi everyone, well, I’m still here, lurking mostly because as some of you will know from fb, I’VE GOT MY LIFE BACK!!! So just don’t have the time to post much. I do keep up with all your news though and think of you all every day, and will do for the rest of my life.
I’ve been back at work for 3 weeks now - full-time! The first week was pretty tough and I was shattered every night, but now I just feel, dare I say it, normal!!!
I’ve still got investigations ongoing on the old liver. I’ve been trying hard not to think about it. I had a liver MRI last Friday and I haven’t heard anything so am assuming that if it was bad news they would have phoned me. The experience was pretty horrific as my poor old veins are shot and they had to to canulate my foot!!! Ouch!
Well, am off out for a jog!!! - Oh and I’m getting a nice thatch of hair - may try and put a picture on here for you all to see.
Take care bestest breastest buddies,
lulu, well done with the new job, you will be fantastic, even more so as you have been through it yourself so will be able to empathise more than people who have not.
well its a year since i found my lump and can say when i think back it makes me feel sick, but am so glad to still be here
OMG Lulubelle what bloody fabulous news xxxxxxxx What insight you will have - I hope its a better commute for you huni?
Al - three weeks full time - how the hell are you coping? I am on phased return and it is really difficult.
Girls I went to the Rugby at cardiff yesterday and yelled for italy the whole way! The atmosphere was amazing - 70 thousand people and no one istance of trouble or violence just laughter and cheering - it was stupendous.Frankie had her foot long sausage in bun - I had a pint of larger ( yes I know i have spelt that wrong lol)
Had a reallyt bad nite last nite - the flushing was horrendous, then every dream was filled with me running from one emergency in A&E to another (I havent worked in A&E for yrs lol) and I just couldnt get my left arm comfy - I was continually waking up with numb and tingling fingers??? On top of that my scar is doing a trn as well - pulling and aching - i THINK i MAY BE A TAD TIRED AND OVER WRoUGHT HMMMM?- Oops shouting sorry hit caps lock lmao
OH help my hair is going wavey!!!
love you alll soooooooooo hugs and hugssss xxxxxxx
Hi ladies, can anyone give me some advice - I am thinking of booking up for 8 days in Kenya in January and am not sure about holiday insurance. Do we really need cancer insurance, the way I see it is if I am feeling unwell at the time I cant go, its not really an illness thats going to see you off in a week without you knowing its coming if you know what I mean (sorry if I’m scaring anyone). (I have secondaries in the liver, spine, hips and lung but all is stable at the mo and looking quite promising for now). I did have a look at the pink ribbon site but only got a little way through for a quote and I had to phone a number which wasnt answering… so that was that. I havent organised a holiday abroad in my life so I’ve no idea about insurance and stuff. Many thanks.
Hi to Rachel hope your doing ok. I’m still getting to grips with facebook, managed to post a few pictures of my dogs but thats about as much as I’ve managed, lol.
Rach, my hair is curly like a dogs ar*e and it is going to be removed on tuesday as it is ridiculous! Gonna get it as short as poss and keep cutting it praying the curl will go.Its so not me.
