Coming out the other side - one year on!

rach i am sooooooooooooooo pleased for you, just the worry makes you tierd,

can any of you girlies who had a lumpectomy and full node clearance help me, my boob and under my arm feels very tender again, i think it is probely because i am at work and doing more but would like to know if anyone else has this, my chemo arm is also aching more again, sorry to ask

well enjoying work but we do have some very challenging children, got a easter workshop tommorrow, making easter bonnets, chocolate nest etc which will be fun, 2 days then easter hols debs i bet you are looking forwards to it,

taare all you lovely ladies love you all julie x

Gods sake, insurance… not a flippin cat in hells chance (kinda thought that anyway) but ah well just need to wing it, lol, thanks girls for the advice tho.

Best wishes, Jackie X

Oh Jackie - the bast*rds so sorry huni - are you on chemo at mo? just had a thought about the vaccinations you would need for Kenya, the yellow fever is a live vaccine and you would not be able to have it if your on chemo.
Instead of africa what about something closer to home such as egypt a nile cruise? or Cyprus you might be able to get insurance for europe?

Well girls I am truely shattered and as I just text to Gina I have poured myself an industrial strength Gin and Tonic in a pint glass lol.
Also sat watching Jonas on disney with the girls and thinking - is it wrong/illegal to fanatasize about Kevin Jonas lol xxxx

Rach, that is just the best news, so pleased for you, the worry is so exhausting - I take my sister to the breast clinic in the morning so hope we have a fantastic result too

Julie - I’m a lumpectomy and node girl but I am still completely numb. I was getting a stabbing pain at work a few weeks ago right up in the armpit - when I checked the underwire had broken free in my bra and because of the numbness I didnt suss it straight away - boy was I relieved! Your tenderness could well be due to you being more active - so take it a bit easier!! My GP doesnt think my numbness will ever improve - my little boy thinks its funny to nip me on the upper arm and I’m oblivious! So if nothing else I keep him amused. Hope it improves for ya x Debbie x

debbie i still have areas of numbness following my original surgery which was almost 4 years ago… also still get pain in my boob and a very annoying itch, but think they are now permanent a permanent feature.

julie dont overdo things hunny… take it easy.

Lxx

Another great result today - my sister’s lumps were both cysts which the prof aspirated there and then and we were on our way - so happy for her and our mum! Thanks for being there girls x

deb thats fantastic news

Lx

Ah debs cracking news!
Things looking more positive on here at the mo results wise which is great!!

XX

debbie thanks for the advice as re to tenderness, will see if it improves abit over easter hols, so glad your sister got good news, im sure she will still need a stiff drink after the worry.

Hi Rachel, I can get insurance but not to cover the cancer so its not too bad really. Only on bone chemo just now and herceptin, these two for good probably. Kenya is a bit ambitious for a first holiday on my own but its something I always wanted to do, I love wildlife and the thought of seeing a pride of lions, etc. in their natural habitat is just awesome to me, and you know how it is I thought I better do it sooner rather than later… A few of my friends have told me just to do something else and go to my local safari park, 20 miles along the road lol, or Longleat its somewhere down south. Going to make my mind up over the weekend hopefully. The holidays costing £2500 for 8 days so it is one hell of a lot of money too, especially if I lost it all cause I couldn’t go for whatever reason. Trust me not to just settle for a week in Tenerife, lol.

Hello to everyone else, have a good weekend X

Rach was sooooo pleased to hear all is ok!
Debs, great news for you too!

Julie, so pleased you said that because my boob and underarm and on scar has been sore too! tender to touch and aches a bit, itchy too!!

well girls, its my 50th birthday on Monday, so pleased to have it now!!! My OH is taking me away on Sunday for a few days, but i dont know where yet!!
so love to all and I will be back on when I return!

Hope you are all well love Debs xxxx

jackie can you not wait and book your holiday last minute depending on how you are feeling a couple of weeks before you go rather than risking losing it all or missing out on the opportunity completely… sometimes you can get a better deal if you book it last minute too.

debs have a wonderful birthday enjoy your weekend away im sure you will have a fabby time… its my daughters 19th birthday today (27th) so we are having chinese for tea and some drinkies but not too many as im out with the edinburgh girls on sunday.

hi gerties, how are you all !!!
your all getting hair and everything !! whats going on here!!
Up yer vivas !!! love u xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Lulu, yeah maybe thats the answer probably best given my circumstances too. I’m prone to dithering, will I wont I will I wont I, story of my life, just thought if I booked it now it would force me to go, lol. If I wasn’t going on my own it would be a done deal I think, that’s the main thing putting me off, Nairobi scares me a bit… Friends and family cant afford it the way the cost is so will def be a me only trip unless I miraculously meet a good looking rich man who loves wildlife before then, if only, lol.

You take care and thanks for your advice.

Jackie X
