sally the tamoxifen has drying out effects so causes dry skin, dry mouth, constiaptaion etc so i think peeing more than usual would go along with those symptoms and im sure i have heard other women saying they pee more than usual.

didnt have my back to work interview today cos the weather was awful and i didnt want to travel all the way to glasgow and get stuck in the snow… so its gonna be rearranged for another time.
got appt with new occy health dept on 8th so things are starting to happen.

Hay girls, anyone else been diagnosed with high blood pressure, mine is really high and go back next week to get it checked again and possibly start treatment. I wonder if it is linked to tamoxifen and venflaxine?

venlafaxine is linked to increasing blood pressure. its in the info leaflet they give you.i had to go on anti hypertensives whilst I was on it! Mind you I’m still on them,long story.
hi Pauline - yep efexor is linked with cardiovascular problems - so it is probably linked with you high BP - can you do with out the anti - d? but if your BP is very high then they will probably still want to treat you - dont worry too much babe - I’m sre you will be ok
Sally - heart scans every three months are part of the course with herceptin cos it can damage your heart - I know a lady that was refsed herceptin because she didnt pass the scan - she was on nicotin replacement therapy to try to stop smoking - we took her off the NRT and her scan improved and she had herceptin (but wnet back on the fags love her)
Jackie - salads are good lol- for kenya you will also need anti malarials - I suggest malarone - its easy to take and effective if slightly expensive - dont touch lariam - nasty yukky stuff
Girls the exam went well - i think I passed - i had two clinical stations a shoulder pain and depression - neither areas had i revised before going in lol typical huh - spent the whole night going thru also sorts of disease senarios even in my sleep lol but I at least did know how to examine and treat shoulder pain and depression.

Evidently if you loose all your lashes and brows they regrow at the same time then after 10wks they drop out as part of their life cycle.
We normally grow and loose lashes at different times through that 10 wks so we dont notice them thinning and re growing.
Mine are stable now but i lost the end of each eyebrow and a mass of eyelashes.

well its ayear tommorrow since my dx, and boy have i come along way, met lots of wonderful people, and it has certainly whittled who are my true friends and who is not,still have lots of se from op and chemo, but if its the price to pay for kicking ass of bc then its worth it, the special bond i have with all you wonderful people will never go.

rach i have noticed my brows are thinning again and have even started pencilling them in again
well need advece again gerties, my 10 year old over the last week face has gone so dry and sore, now its on his neck and creases of his arms, it was raging red, took him docs who said it is excezma and gave him some tablets, can excezma come on just like that,

Sorry to hear your son is suffering with eczema. I was just wondering, did your doctor only give him tablets? It sounds like he could do with some kind of topical preparation like diprobase and maybe aqueous cream to wash with rather than soap. My eldest son used to get eczema, he’s 28 now and luckily seemed to ‘grow out of it’ in his teens. I hope your son is ok very soon.
Congrats on your 1yr! I had my first year in Feb and it felt really good, coz I still remember vividly being given my dx and wondering if I would see next year. My friends came round with wine and we celebrated that the little b****r hadn’t got the better of me!

Fluffy faces!!! My husband is in hysterics everytime there is a bright light behind me?? Please tell me it will go all on its own?? It’s very very fine, downy, white and you can only really see it in the light, but hubby keeps pulling it and even joked that he used it to wrap around himself when it was cold the other night - I know, I live with a comedian.
Alsssoooooo, I am weeing 4-5 times a night and have the driest mouth ever!! (I will go to get that stuff you said Lulu - seeing GP next week). Mind you if a fluffy face and pissing for England are my only tamoxifen SE’s then I can cope!!!
Easter hols - yay!!! Hubby is taking me to Bath today for 3 nights in a luxury spa hotel - can not wait!! Then, next Friday, we’re taking the kiddies to CP in Nottingham!!! Will reminisce and drink for you all.

Hello all my lovely breastest friends - finished rads last Friday - whoopie = saw my surgeon on Monday and after poking around my non-cancer breast decided I am ok for another 6 months - phew.
Having bone scan on Tuesday as starting arimidex and need to keep a check for oesteoporosis !
I’ve got fuzzy face too Ali weird! I nevr completely lost my lashes but they are still short and stubby - never mind - I get lots of comments on my silver hair- last night it was ‘classy’ it’s been cheeky, sophisticated, chic - they all plead with me not to dye it??? The only neg comment was from my sis in law who said when its grown abit I should have a more feminine style lol. Will post some new pics soon.
dreading starting the arimidex as I already have pains in my joints and climb the stairs like a 90 year old - bring it on !
ent to see my usually very unhelpful Gp yesterday and when I said I do not feel mentally or physically able to return to work right now - she signed me off for another 3 months - whoopie - really don’t want to go back there but gives me time to sort it out in my head.
So glad that there has been good news for most of you lovelies with new lumpy bits - hope you get your lymphodoema sorted out. My skin is very sore in the booster/scar area so slapping on the silver cream until tomorrow and have brilliant dressing stuff to stop the rubbing and keep underboob dry.

Hi gerties, glad to hear you all seem chipper at the minute…probably the prospect of a party weekend looming girls. lol. I am off to tamworth to stay with our mrs focka and my jump buddy lisa in an hour. We are fund raising then mrs f is throwing a party to celebrate her 1 year anniversary. Julie - re your boy and dry skin - I am confused as the tabs - are they piriton by any chance? if so they are to make him sleepy and stop him itching and scratching. You really need to see the Dr again for a prescription for an emollient cream, bath oil/shower gel - double base is good and possibly a low dose steroid cream - say diprobase or doublebase emollient and 1% hyrocortisone (dont apply to face unless told its ok to do so) In the mean time buy some diprobase or aqueous cream from the chemist, stop using soap use the aqueous cream instead. cut his nails really really short and avoid bathing too often - no bubble baths as this dries the skin out. then get the dr to do his bl**dy job and treat the skin if he doesnt know what it send your lad to a dermatologist who will.
BTW - I was told I passed one part of the exam at the time but the other examiner just said well done that was good - ?? but did i pass???

Al im dry as a bone again, dry skin, dry mouth, dry eyes, dry Poo!!! the moth gel is called biotene oral balance… def recommend it.
