ha ha, talking to your self eh!! Quiet night on here, I’ve been doing a class on jewellery with a roudy youth club and then been playing with nomination bracelets, must admit didnt think they were my thing but liking them, made myself an almost full one and an almost empty one so I can fill it up.
off out with friends tomorrow, cant believe only have one week left at work, gulp gulp.
Glad you got trip booked Lily, when are you off, going to be really jeleous, always wanted to do Rome and then have a week at the beach!!! xx
Hey, Lily, I hope you don’t let the cat out of the bag in your sleep! You will have to chant other words, places, dates to yourself before nodding off just to throw Victor off the trail. So glad you have booked Rome, I’m sure you will love it, when do you go? It can of course be baking in the summer, when I expect you have to go, so make sure you stop for lots of gelati
Lisa, have a great weekend, let your hair down a bit but get back on track on Monday so you are in tip top condition! What are nomination bracelets? I’ve not heard of them. Hopefully the jewellery side is still going well and maybe you will have some time once you are recuperating to build up some stock?
Hi to everyone else, I guess P is in the UK buying her knickers! Oh and seeing the family of course
I’m off to pick OH up in an hour or two and find out what sunny Dubai has been like! I think he will be exhausted as they were working a lot but he did say he’d driven past the huge building that Tom Cruise climbs out of in the latest Mission Impossible film. Then it’s on with the washing and ironing for me, I hate it when I have to do all the extra stuff when I haven’t even moved from home!
Have a great weekend all
Nicky xxx
Hi,
glad you came back lol. The Rome trip is early June so hopefully not too baking and gives me time to plan another in the summer hols:)Although Nicky the ice cream might just make it even better Travel agent said had I considered Croatia in the summer. I don’t know anyone who has been, have any of you? Don’t even know travel times so will have to look it up.
Lisa I have no idea what nomination bracelets are either, enlighten us.There seem to be a lot of boys in our school wearing bracelets with religious pictures on, have you seen them? You have a great week and wear yourself out so you enjoy being in bed. Just keep away from germy people.
Nicky good plan so I will do some school work before going to bed and put my mind on something else. I bet I mentioned it I am still trying to find somewhere big for us all to stay in Norfolk/ Suffolk or close to Essex for a week over easter, The prices are terrible for that week and no luck so far so might have to put the tents up in the garden and camp!
Night all
Lily x
hum keep away from germy people, does that include meeting men!!! hum, met a bloke last night - bit awkward with hospital etc. and what to tell him but he’s asked me out, not sure if I can do first dates again, very strange but seems okay, he’s friends with a few of my friends partners just never met him before, bit older too. will fill you in if i hear from him, arggghhh!!!
Lily have seen those bracelets lots of blokes seem to have them on. The session i done on friday night was that sort of style. nomination bracelets are little links that form a bracelet, very american each link can be a charm such as name, birthstone etc, pictures, some are quite tacky but done well nice, just made myself and niece one and sold one yesterday to someone at dad’s work.
Well catch up later, need some food to sort me out xxx
Well not much gossip here, back on diet tomorrow, gutted been wanting to try the kit kat peanut butter or white one for ages, searched everywhere today but non!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend xx
Well, I have a date on Saturday, crap timing and not sure my type and lot older than me, also dont know what to tell him, it’s all a bit much to blurt out on first date but then he knows Im going into hospital. he seems okay but heard that he’s really nice and would spoil me, which would be nice lol!! xx
Hi,
go Lisa, he has obviously heard that the new bionic Lisa is about to launch onto the dating scene. I think you should go with an open mind until it becomes clearer. He may see you as someone fun and kind and want to see you before the op or he will have to wait a while after. Or he may fancy the pants off you (not literally! but after Nicky’s episode check the elastic just in case. I would be very surprised if he hasn’t already been told everything as your friends would have been keeping an eye out for you and he would be curious too. How much older and is he single/divorced or what(tell your mother at once!!!)? Oh we haven’t had a romance on here for ages, what fun Just have a lovely evening and see how it goes. If you get on well then you can explain that it may be a while after the op before you can go out again. If you don’t get on then that is also a reason to get rid of him easily. Just enjoy yourself. Remind me of when you go in. Bad luck about sweets!
Hooray hooray I have booked a holiday to rent a house for all the family to stay. They seem to have gone up a lot in price this year and it has taken ages to find somewhere suitable but not far so YD and baby can visit too for a few days. Victor is nearly having a seizure about all the money I keep asking him to transfer! I think I better wait a while before I mention the summer hols shhhh. Double hooray, day off tomorrow but seeing the optician so prob not good news there and I have to have glaucoma tests and hate them! BTW I have my 4 year mammos during the week after next yuk. Always hate the uncertainty they provoke.
Lily x
Hi ladies
Lisa, well, get you Possibly bad timing but you can’t plan these things and as Mum No 2 has said it gives you a get out clause if things don’t go well or gives you a good feedback about him if he does understand everything. Reading that back I don’t know if it makes much sense but I hope you know what I mean! Have a good week, keep up the diet as you’ve done so well and don’t think about next week, for now at least.
Lily, how lovely to have a family break, you are very good doing this each year but I know how you love it. I’m sure Victor doesn’t mind handing over the cash either when it involves family. Have a good day off and hope the eye tests are OK. Hopefully you won’t be too nervous next week with with the squishing, ouch. I just thought that I hasn’t had a mammo for a couple of years or so but I suppose as I’m on a regular 6 monthly appointment then I’m still being checked out. Which also reminds me I haven’t got the date for my next appointment, so something to chase up.
Talking of holidays it’s time I came clean about us going away with our 2 D’s to celebrate birthdays etc. we always said we would do it and celebrate YD’s 21st and my 50th but then the big bad C got in the way so we weren’t sure we could. However, touching wood, and relying on Lily’s antennae, we are able to and are heading for the Big Apple We are all very excited and looking forward to a holiday together especially as our D’s haven’t been before.
Have a great week everyone, hope all is well wherever you are.
Nicky xxx
Hi,
Nicky well we are in holiday mode thats for sure. Antenna says all you have to worry about is what clothes to take with you I bet the girls are excited and will be glad to be daughters coming with you rather than independent ladies Mine all want to come on our hols but rather a lot to pay for! How long until you go? It doesn’t seem like 2 years this summer since we went. Also 50 will trigger your call into the routine NHS mammo system so they will squash you one way or another My area does every year until 5 years and then every 2 years I believe. My friend is not getting called as often as me and was told they time the 5 years from your first dx and she is on her 2nd so went 2 yearly much earlier than me. My hospital has changed policies so I can book oncology way ahead (booked for nov) but my surgical team visits come by post 6 weeks ahead, so not so convenient when a teacher.
Lisa waiting to hear about him??? Spill the beans and be good (diet I mean).
I needed new glasses as one eye had changed too much but that for distance and driving. Decided to get some prescription sunglasses, which I have wanted for ages as my buy one get one free offer on specs. They are Ted Baker and make me look like I just came out of therapy and don’t want anyone to recognise me ha ha but very comfy and protect the eyes well. I was telling Victor about this on the cra phone as I went home and got 2 words from saying where I would be able to wear them argggj. Not good at this secret game!
Lily x
he he, lily you are going to struggle keeping your secret.
No gossip really, really not sure and could do without the added nerves. He is about 45/46 and looks even older i think. Single and dont think been married and no kids. likes rugby and knows my uncle too and everyone else it seems, however, he hasnt said who he lives with, im really hoping he still doesnt live with parents lol! he also doesnt drive and you think Im hard to understand, i even struggle to understand his slang. Really not sure he’s my type and dont get on all that well with some of his mates, but two of his best mates are my mates partners and they say you couldnt meet a nicer bloke, but they why is he single. Dont think it’s going to be a big romance so dont be buying any hats mams!!! just have to tell parents going out for meal now so will be spanish inquestion but if i sneak around they’lle find out lol!!!
Well my stomach has been in knots all day, it’s countdown my last week at work, then hospital on Monday with Op on tuesday, I actually dont think ive been this scared before, think cos I was there and seen the woman being ill and heard all the list of things that can go wrong, I also thought at the time wasnt meant to be so worried even more so, just sooo scared wont wake up!!!
Well better go and make a list so much to do this week, will fly by gulp!!!
Oh the holiday talk is nice though, making me very jeleous… xxxx
HELLO, earth to Lisa, you WILL wake up! You did last time, you will do this time. They know you don’t react to the anaesthetic so they will keep everything the same for you. It is worrying when you see someone else in a bad way but they are not you! Hmmm, Mum No 3 over and out. I know you are scared though lovey, so do offload on us and we are here to hold your hand. Take your mind off it with your hot date! Hope it does go well and you don’t need to feel that he’s right or wrong at this stage, it’s just a meal out with a nice guy, one step at a time
Lily, do you need a mask of any sort to stop you blurting things out LOL. I’m usually quite good but it’s so easy to start saying things and then stop, and then you get asked more questions! I will hint at our hols on here but tell you more after the event, too open on here but I can PM you if you are really curious? However the big spend on the girls will not be happening, they are getting the holiday for free, but we have managed to use airmiles for some of it so that has helped a lot. In fact YD will have a lot to spend as she’s a saver and has also asked us not to buy her much at all for her 21st so she can have the money instead to spend. We do want her to buy something out there from us though and I’m sure we will be hot footing it to Tiffanys! Don’t gulp too much, they do have a lot of silver stuff which is not that expensive and is much cheaper than the UK. Having said that I will be hot footing it there as well as I’ve told OH not to give me too much on my actual birthday, may as well save some money. It’s like Christmas where the bargains are to be had in the Sales, not before the event itself!
Hi to everyone else, hope everything is well with you. Val, have you started chemo yet? I seem to remember you have your tablets all ready to go Hoping it is kind to you. Xx
Nicky xxx
Oh Nicky you defo have me excited about your trip lol!! Tiffanys is a must!!!
Well nothing going on here apart from me stressing, have the house to sort, dog to sort, work to sort, jewellery to sort argghhh manic isnt word havent even had my tea yet! Well it will help the diet lol!
Sorry about stressing about the op, with him saying it could be up to 11 hours everyone goes, oh that’s a long time to be under I am totally freaked out that I wont wake up and im putting peopel through this for vanity. The date i go in is freaking me out a little too and with it not happening last time I was a bit like it wasnt meant to be - just want to come out the otherside and look forwards, fingers crossed xx
Val, hope you are around and just tired, hope the chemo isnt having too many horrible side effects. Thinking of you.
Wonder how peacock is enjoying the Uk xx Slenda hope you are well too xxx
Night all, oh p.s. spilling any more secrets today Lily?
Hi,
no Lisa toy girl I haven’t blabbed yet but there are still plenty of opportunities!!I am trying not to think about it as our family hols are before that. I have been looking online for some places to visit for that break.pretending I had booked Victor’s car on a race track day at Snetterton race track while we were away as a birthday present to drive his jag round the track with maniacs. He siad he wouldn’t do it lol.Sorry its overtyping so no going back to edit today! So far I have found ferret racing :). Lisa well considered yourself slapped!! Thats the only cure for hysteria. Everyone thinks that about operations so we completely understand. It will be your family and friends who have the most stress, you will blink and be back again in bed. My frien was in theatre that length of time too but not supposed to be. I thought she would be bad but actually she was better than she was after chemo as they gave her tablets to cover everything in advance. I saw her 2 days after her op and she was chatting fine and very pleased I had taken her some sweets to suck. You know mints help after ops, peppermint is best to shift trapped air I believe. She was also pleased with the capri sun drinks that didn’t tip straight down her neck when trying to drink laying down. She went through a lot of tops as it leaked a bit as they don’t bandage up these days. It will be fine buddy. Antenna is more worried that it goes ahead this time than the op itself!!
As to your oap friend well I would make my own mind up and then do some background checks as to his status just in case.
Nicky send me a large plaster to go over my mouth at night so I don’t blab! Yes pm me about the trip, very interested in what you are doing while there. Tiffanys, well I loved it , even down to the charming chaps on the elevators. It annoyed me that so much had no prices on it though. What do they sya, if you have to ask, you can’t afford it!
Night all and hugs Val if on the evil pills now x
Lily x
Hi Lisa, I do understand your worries, who wouldn’t, but hoping that you are not getting too worked up about the op. whatever happens at least you’ve ‘sorted’ everything LOL
Hi to everyone else, hope all is well with you.
I have just come back from the vets with my rather elderly cat, she’s now 16. Big sigh of relief that she’s not going downhill quite as quick as I thought. Vet mentioned kidney disease which I know is very common in older cars so of course I googled it! However he called back with the results of her blood test and said he was surprised she was as healthy as they showed. Thank goodness for that, can’t have her dying on us so close to YD’s birthday (who adores her and obviously isn’t at home right now if the worst happened). Just hope the urine test, which I have to collect a sample for (!) also doesn’t throw up any nasty surprises.
Other than that just a normal day for me.
Nicky xx
Hi Nicky,
I had an elderly cat Gazzy Wazzy Doo Dah (Garfield originally). She lived till 22 although she developed milk kidney probs from 16 - just drank more and peed for England. I hope it’s similar for your cat.
My current 4 year old moggy Mayfair is asleep contentedly in her basket between me and the radiator.
Hi,
well I was surprised to see we are on to cats at the mo. Nicky glad to hear she still has a few lives yet and maybe you should be hoping for a urine infection that can be easily cleared up in a week. Well aprt from you getting your finger bitten off trying to get her to swallow them BTW you know goggling illnesses is ‘verboten’ or the reader is always convinced they (the cat)is about to kick the bucket. Not that any of us would google and then go hysterical ha, might have to put my hand up for that one too! My mamo is next week so I am nicely warming up to a hysterical little spell for no reason at all lol.
Slenda how are you doing, it was nice to hear from you, even if it took a feline tale to tempt you out Have you planned and days out or holidays this year? Always helps to have something on the calendar to look forward to. Its the nearest us ladies come to understanding male fascination with scoring goals.
Lisa keep smiling and just have some lovely days on the outside before you get ordered to bed.
Hi to everyone else, don’t be a stranger
Lily x
Hi all
Slenda, lovely to see you, can’t believe your cat lived until 22! Cripes, that’s a lot more cat food and vets visits to pay for! Glad you were curled up yesterday with your moggy, hope the strength is gradually coming back and you are feeling more ‘normal’
Lily, well, she needs a worming tablet so that should be easy to administer, not! And then we will see what else might be on the cards, no doubt rather expensive! Couldn’t believe the bill for yesterday but they were very quick with getting back to me with her blood results, must be something to do with going private LOL. In fact that is what worried me , when the vet said he’d call back, I thought it must be urgent! However she’s quite happy this morning and not giving me so many evils as yesterday
Well, have put my car up for sale, so let’s see how many tyre kickers come along, as OH like to call them. Luckily I’m not desperate to sell so I should hopefully be able to hold out for a good offer rather than the first knocked down one I’m bound to get. Just need the sun to come out over the weekend and then everyone will want a soft top!
Hi to everyone else, Lisa, hope you are oping ith the nerves and having a few good days, but busy at work I expect?
Nicky xxx
Hi,
good luck with selling the car Nicky. Is this saying goodbye to the wig tester from way back? Seems like a long time ago.
Bit yawny as insomnia does catch up in the end :0
Lily x
ooops got bumped, must have, tut tut. Off to bed sooo tired, feel sick with nerves lol! Last day at work tomorrow, going to be a long one again !!! xxx
Oh Lisa, I do really feel for you, I’m always a bag of nerves before any big event so no wonder you are feeling so nervous. We’re you this nervous lady time? Or is it the bad experience making things bad? Big hugs and try to have a good weekend with family and friends. Will search out your mobile number to keep in contact. Take it easy, we’re here to help a much as we can.
What a lovely day yesterday turned out to be! Not quite as warm here as some parts but it got me outside which was good. I decided out of the kindness of my heart to clean OH’s car, which was filthy, so he was very surprised to see it so shiny when he got home. Let’s see what the days like today, as yesterday started off quite overcast as well. Hope the weather is looking up wherever you are and everyone is doing OK.
Nicky xx
Hi,
Lisa you know when I have something scary coming up, rather than thinking and thinking about going in and being in having it done, I try to see myelf after the event. So On Tuesday evening, try to think of yourself back on the ward with it done and then starting your next journey to getting baetter and back on your feet again. Maybe think about a nice spell at home and not getting up early for work. Having a 7 day weekend and most of all not having this to still go through and always on the agenda. Done, finished and on getting better each day :)Hospital appointments tailing off, wondering when they will do it - gone, being able to plan going away - whenever you like. Another step towards a safer better spell. Go to it tiger and have a fab weekend because you don’t have to think about it until you go to bed on Sunday night. Hugs x
Nicky - crazy typing, lady time? Yes we will definitely have to send her texts and pictures to make her laugh like - Victor in the bath ha ha. Mr Nicky reading the paper on the loo!!! Mr Peacock’s union jack boxers on the washing line! Checking what Mr Scottishlash wears under his kilt! Mr Slenda carving his roast with just an apron on! Robson in your bed with your pjs on while you are away! Mr older chap in your pjs while you are away might be funnier! Mr Bev going to the wedding in his bufday suit! OK get thinking, anyone else got a graphic picture of something funny?
Nicky my car is outside and waiting for your attention too
Enjoy the weekend
Lily x
