that is so sad problems with the flooding this time of year. it makes you realise how lucky you are when were sitting comfortable in our little houses, and sometimes we forget what others are having to go through. means more workload for yourself by the sound of it, so take it easy when you finish, and things will soon be looking better.
nicky
enjoy celebrations at weekend, you deserve them, and christmas sounds like it will be extra special at your house.

i dont blame daughter for thinking twice about job, who needs all that hassle, she will know when the right one comes along. when shes least looking for it probably. thanks for well wishes regarding scan. sorry your feet are playing up, have you thought of heelys could just imagine you flying about on them.lol.
serious though what about the gel comfort things? got to be some remedy, (getting the headmaster to massage them?), that would certainly be pay back time!
peacock and anyone else ive missed really hope you ok, and weather ok where you are.
Hi,
Lisa I am so sorry to hear that news, I knew it was in your area but not that you worked there. The pictures were really scarey on the tv and amazing really that there were not more disasters although even one is one too many.
Lorraine I am throwing up at the thought of the Head and my feet! You may remember he banned me from telling anyone I was ill and told me that someone had complained about my illness making them feel depressed!! He considers illness shows that you are weak! Most weeks I wish his willy would drop off!! Still waiting for a foot appointment and just taking it easy tonight as heading for Primark tomorrow for a few stocking fillers. Ed was in tonight and gave me an enormous list of things to look out for. She was disappointed that she was already booked to go out as she loves the place.
Lisa you keep on celebrating but watch the old ticker as it would be nice to think of you having some time off medical appointments for a while. I have to think about lipofil or not. At the moment I am thinking I canāt be bothered to go through anything voluntarily but will see how I feel when I see the expert next month. Gotta go and get these feet up. Take care Lisa

Hi all
Lisa - how awful - you must be dealing with all of this at first hand whereas weāve seen it on TV and are still shocked. As youāve said, a dreadful time and it must be so upsetting for everyone, including you, who is involved with it. Take care and donāt overdo things - we know how loving and willing to help you are.
Hi to everyone else as well and thanks for all the congrats! A quiet day today and then a bit of Christmas shopping tomorrow. Have a good weekend.
Nicky xx
lily
watch out primark. the queen of shoppers is heading your way! i bet your one of those people who come out with about six bags.
did i tell you about the silver men thongs i brought from there for my brother in law? you could get victor some!
i was shopping in debenhams the other day and saw some lovely stuff in the john rocha dept, but hubby(skinflint) says āyou might as well wait for the salesā says he who had two carriers from somewhere else in his hand. hes always careful with my money! but i get through it like water at the moment, im sure im addicted to shopping, i find it helps when im on a low. your head sounds absoloutely horrid, maybe hes a softie underneath, but you just cant see it, those kind are normally the worsed. i bet if he was ill, hed make peoples lifes unbearable more than you could ever manage.

hope the weekend manages to put you back on track again, we dont realise how much these happenings affect the people who have to be involved. stops the rest of us moaning about a spot of rain, and put things in perspective. hope all goes well with john, im sure your off out with friends later, have a good night.
Hi,
Lorraine you mind reader! I did!! I came back with 6 giant bags full of stuff from Primark. I spent Ā£280 and in Primark that is a lot of shopping. Feeling much happier that I have made a major dent into the Christmas shopping and the girls are happy that they have bags with their names on now. I wish I could say the same about Victor who had an indescribable look on his face as we spent over 2 hours in the one shop and he was my pack horse carrying everything ha ha! He made me come home after that when i suggested we looked at a few more shops lol. They still have their big pressies to do, but they usually choose those themselves so hooray the panic can subside for a while. I was having such fun - purple tights, cute pyjamas, dresses, skirts, tops, make up sets, jumpers, cardis, hats, scarves. I bought my son a rather outrageous hat in red check with fur like a lumberjack would wear as he loves hats. Found little chap lots of next size trousers and tops too. Poor Victor I didnāt buy anything for him! He said ādonāt worry about meā. So I didnāt!! No I will go out and buy him some nice things when he is not with me.I am not sure I want to see any male in a silver thong. Might give them ideas ha ha!Dare you to buy your Victor one Lorraine lol. I love John Rocha and have been very successful shopping in Debenhams here too in that dept. He seems to design for my /our shape :). Hmmm you think well of everyone but I cannot put online some of the other things that have happened. If you knew you would be helping me put a curse on him.
Lisa let us know how the date goes. I am hoping it is somewhere unaffected by the floods or might be put off I guess.
Nicky my message about the no appointments was for you, havenāt the fogggiest why I wrote Lisa! Have a lovely weekend.
Bev are you back from your holiday yet?
Well I am on here early as we are going out to dinner with EDās fianceās parents for the second time. They are good fun and really nice. ED told the job she could not take the day off as they had a publishing deadline and she was not prepared to lie. They loved this and want to see her after work, said she is a very strong candidate. The tests were all on the IT software she uses every day so they wonāt be testing her on it. Now she is in a real tizz about whether to go for it as the main person phoned to chat to her and sounded nice.
Right off to fight my hair into submission for this evening
Love

Hi Girls, sorry for the delay in getting on here but I have had some more bad luck!! aghhhh I had been in Tenerife for a DAY! and managed to slip up outside a supermarket (hadnāt even been drinking!) and broke my ankle. I ended up in hospital and had an operation the next day to put a plate in with 6 screws all very unpleasant as I had an epidural and could hear it all aghhhh! the part that really freaked me out though was that they took a chest X ray and asked me if I was a heavy smoker! and kept shaking their heads which made me feel really uncomfortable. I told them I had radiotherapy but they still seemed puzzled. Then the surgeon plating my ankle informed me he needed to use more screws due to my oesteoporis (didnāt even know I had it) and that he couldnāt put a plaster on as it would be too heavy for my bones. So as you can imagine I had a great holiday being wheeled around in a wheelchair as I canāt use two crutches due to the dodgy arm! and felt really worried the whole time. Although my girlfriends were great so we still managed to have a laugh.
I have an appointment next tuesday at the fracture clinic and I need to have a bond density scan done at some stage. So all in all a bit hacked off this has happened just when I was getting my life back.
So glad the scans were good for you Nicky what a relief and Lisa yep how awful for those poor people who are flooded. lily sorry to hear your feet are still causing you problems.
Hi,
oh Bev I am so sorry to hear that your holiday was spoilt by the accident and all the pain and worry. The epidural part sounded horrible. I had my port taken out while wide awake and will not be doing that again. So very easy to get into a panic if you think about it and the noises yuk! Will the plate have to be removed or will you keep it in now? Try not to worry too much as the British doc may have a different view. My Father died on holiday in Spain and the official autopsy said he had cystic fibrosis, which most people die of as teenagers and he was 70. They redid everything when he was flown back and said it was all wrong, caused a lot of grief and extra worry. So personally I donāt have a lot of faith in their dx as he was in a big private hospital there. Good luck with the appointment on Tuesday and for some better news x.Hope you are ahead with Christmas shopping or it will be internet purchases for you.
Lisa well how did it go?? itching to hear.
Lorraine yes it was rocky road chocolate gateau and honeycomb cornish ice cream yum. I must try harder to be mysterious Kids are very excited that I have bought lots of things and all want to snoop at each others. They canāt because I tend to get the girls the same or similar things. I have been working hard this weekend and have written all my lesson plans up to the end of this year, so all done until January. Victor was off for a few days and surprised me by doing all the washing, tumbling, folded, put away, the lot! I was very pleasantly astounded. He washed my car and peeled all the potatoes for the shepherd pie! What is going on???
Nicky enjoy a more relaxing week.
Take care everyone

Well just looked back at page one of this post and my New Yearās resolutions.
Woops and here we are nearly round again! I think the losing 2 stones was a tad optimistic:)
Perhaps I meant put on 2 Stone. Yes that was it

hi all, sorry havent been around with all the floods my telephone line and internet has been cut off!!!
Sitting here at work now, listening to helicopters flying around, all very surreal as my town is fine but where i work 10mins away is 2mins walk away from the bridge they are watching that has dropped 1 ft so have lots of friends almost cut off.
Really sorry about your accident, sounds awful and to happen in Spain is the pits.
Well, will catch up later but briefly, John lives in a place called Marport, which just as they were setting off through they shut another major road, so if they were to come it was a 90mile journey instead of 20, but last minute found out trains were on so they jumped on train through - it was funny as everyone was realkly awkward but we had to pop to a house party and blokes in one room women in other so didnt speak much, all tipsy and told two girls on way down and one wasnt happy that Id kept it from my friend so i come out of the toilet in first pub and they had told our joint friends, it all went down well and they were quizzing us about being to pics together and then he pipped up that Id made his tea - was all good fun but still not sure about him, Im not sure I fancy him but trying to just go with flow and see, we have crack but yet I dont know much about him, he hasnt mentioned that his brother had cancer or that his mam and dad deaf and dumb, no nothing and havent talked about the cancer stuff, but I have said to him (via text) what I have had done as he kept going for grope so obviously didnt realise - his reply was no bother! So laid back about it all. Dont know if anyone has heard a cumbria accent but its rough and where he lives its soooo broad Im struggling when someone calls clothes claas!!! hee hee!
Hi guys,
I do hope you dont mind me intruding on your thread I have followed it for some time and always find it uplifting but have never had the courage to jump in. I have this time cos I live 5 miles from Lisa and on Thursday I woke up at 3.30 and found my lovely little cottage was flooded downstairs. So Im sitting here waiting for a loss adjuster in a smelly house, no carpets, plaster bubbling off the walls and feeling just generally p++ed off
Still it could be worseā¦Im still here to tell the tale. Though the whole area aroung us is still waterlogged and more rain forecast There must be an end to it sometime or is this climate change here to stay
Take care all you lovely people
Trish
Hi trisha i now exactly how you feel about the flooding, i live in carlisle and i was flooded in the 2005 floods, 2 yrs after i was still not back in my house my loss adjusters were great, it was my land lord who wasnt getting the work done on the house, i got a house through council as i was classed as homeless which im still living in, landlord decided he wanted to sell house. Hope you get thing sorted take care.
julie x
Hi Trish, not sure exactly where you live but your poor cottage, cant imagine how you must be feeling, but seeing some of our tenants homeless and problems being faced is awful. Hope yu get the loss adjuster there and things move forward and that you arent in the cut off area xxxx
Julie - I remember too well the floods in Carlisle in 2005 it was awful and glad you didnt bear the brunt again!! xx
Take care everyone be safe and speak later if Talk Talk get their lines back on track xx
Hee Hee never really thought that other people read our posts I forget about it - god my private life - the shame, heee hee!!! xx
i bet you feel so relieved getting ahead of school work, takes a lot of your mind, more time for other things. talking about that, are you sure you never brought victor the silver thongs from primark, im trying to understand the sudden change in him? lol. i too havnt managed my goals from last year, but never mind, weve had fun along the way.
lisaf
typical isnt it, johns ok with everything, and you dont particuarly fancy him,
but one thing he isnt slow in coming forward, trying for two gropes already, just go along with it and see what happens, nothing ventured nothing gained as they say!
trish
oh dear darling, glad you feel you can share your problems with us, hopefully our antics might make you laugh a little. i would be in bits if i was you, our belongings mean so much to us dont they?
i truly hope you get the help you need to sort things out. keep having little breaks with friends, you need the support at the moment, x
Hi,
Lisa hope you get your phones back on soon and your internet so we can hear the next gripping (or should I say groping)chapter in your love life lol. Did I tell you I forward every one to your Dad ha ha!Well John seems to have had a lot to deal with growing up and sounds like meeting the folks will be a tricky one as they probably use hands to sign. Well I have to admit I donāt always know what some of your phrases are but get the gist of it. I like the little sayings. Well hope everyone up your way gets normality back soon but it sounds like you have to experience it to really understand how upsetting it is. We probably canāt imagine the things you lose. Hope you are getting Robson swimming lessons ready for the winter if we are getting more rain like they say. These bridges are obviously going to slow the romance, unless he has to stay. Sorry felt you blush then. Good luck anyway.
Hi Trish, we never mind people coming to chat and if our banter has cheered you then good. I am very sorry to hear your home was flooded, did it come up a long way or were you able to save some things? When a friend had a flood from the road she said the smell was terrible, especially from the carpets but they were told to save them for the insurers to see.Anyway I hope they find time to see people especially you quickly so you can start to sort things out before Christmas. Good luck x.
Hi Westie too. You know Lisa is going to be going round with a big hat on in case you recognise her and John out ha ha! Hope all is going well with you at the moment with the Bc.
Lorraine - well I phoned Victor to say I was just leaving my meeting after school and he said he already had dinner in the oven and made me a coffee as I walked in. I could get used to this!! Think I better buy myself one of them ha ha! He is a real softy when it comes to me, whereas I always tend to put the kids before us. I think it is a woman thing as they feel more part of you perhaps.
Hi Nicky I expect you are trying to pile the hours in this week with Christmas coming. Bev I hope you are not in pain and that you get on ok when the UK docs check it out
Hugs all
Lily x x
hiya all, apparrently Im back on line this morning - phew, starting to feel lost without it!!!
Robson aint enjoying the rain tonight - forgot to say a stray dog tried to follow me the other night but robson aint good with other dogs so i chased it away but watched it run in the road twice so I was gollering (shouting Lily), down the road, managed to get back home and I was drenched it was dripping and filled a bucket with water from my coat, but its me, put the dog in and spent 20mins dragging my jeans around chasing the dog, but it obviously didnt want to be around me after shouting at it and I lost it and had to go back home - bless home it found its way home!
Glad everyone doing okay, Lily sounds nice getting your tea made for you, lucky you.
Well better get back to work, next installment, think heās coming tonight so will see if we are back to awkwardness and doubt heāll be aiming for anymore gropes after Ive made it very clear what op Ive had done!
Hope my language was better in this posting - Cumbria twang missing.
Love to those affected by floods as its horrid today, heavy rain which is going to make the clean up harder xxx
So sorry Trish and westie how bloody awful for you. Here I am feeling sorry for myself with a broken ankle but at least I am in a warm, dry home. I really hope the government step in and offer more support than the Ā£1m originally suggested where is that going to go?
Thanks Lily uunfortunately I am in pain which is a real nusiance I am just hoping that it is healing o.k. and they will put a plaster on it of some kind as I think the plate is moving a bit under a crepe bandage and that really hurts my toes. Weird as it is my ankle that is broken and plated. But I have had enough of being housebound yet again and will be until 5th Jan aghhhh! makes me realise how awful it is for the poor soldiers coming back maimed as they will always be living with those difficulties. What has happend to your O/H and how can I get mine to do likewise I think this incident has been the straw that has broken the camels back he is really hacked off. Well done for being so organised re work that will make christmas more relaxing for you.
Lisa so glad to hear you are having a bit of sparkle in your life but sorry that you are dealing with such a traumatic situation for everyone around you. Hope you can keep the internet access going.
Hi to Lorraine, Peacock etc and hope you are all doing o.k.
im totally back on line, yipppeeee. Need a good catch up on here but really tired tonight.
not much gossip here - John was coming through tonight but cancelled, his car has broken down (used his dadās last week) and the weather hasnt been great, its only taken him 45mins to get home but to be honest at times its taking 2 hours to travel 20mins, so hopefully thatās the reason rather than me telling him about my operation. We will see, unlikely that I will see him till weekend this week. We will see, if not tough!!
hope everyone okay and got nicer weather than us lol xxxx
