Hi Lily, You are not the only one that this has happened to regarding the oofline problem. One of the other girls on here had the same problem for days too. Think it was Monica??? Love Val
Hey she’s back And a very restrained posting if I might say. Let us know any news you have Lily - bet you are glad it’s Thursday and presumably last day tomorrow?
Lorraine - huge hugs and let’s hope any of the ‘suspected’ things are not true. Thinking of you and hope they get you comfortable.
Peacock - I’m also hoping YD’s flight is OK today, coming out of Paris (no snow) to LHR (possible snow) plus good old French RER staff who are having un petit strike ce la moment - get me! Seems the hurdle will be getting to the airport (for her) or an expensive taxi ride - let’s hope not.
To everyone else hope everything is OK - look after yourselves
Nicky x
Yipppeee, trouble is back, lol!!! Glad you back, miss my late night posts!!!
Hope everyone doing okay, anyone got snow?!?!? We havent.
Madness, been up working till 2am, look like poo but then that’s it, after tomorrow people going to have to wait till 4th January. Xmas party starts at 11am tomorrow, oooppsss! Try xmas tree photo tonight, never took my lap top home last night so that I could work!!!
Lorraine, hope you get some more info today and comfort, from what I know once the tummy has been drained it feels much more comfortable!!
Love to all xxx
Hi all,
so sorry to learn of the problems poor Lorraine is suffering from and wishing for her to be comfortable soon and be treated as quickly as possible.
Lily glad to see you back!! I think everyone missed your comments.
Lisa also glad you are getting your arm under control I really miss the swimming at the present time as I find that really helps with the pressure feeling.
I am still in plaster and struggling around the house I will be so glad when I can get this thing off my leg I have my appointment next tuesday so fingers crossed.
Anyway girls take care.
love Bev xx
Lorraine was drained at lunchtime.
Text reads:- Done, painful but glad, lost about 2 pints so far, had biopsy too.
Mx
Hi,
well I don’t really know how they drain people but it sounds pretty crappy and I hope Lorraine you are feeling the benefits of losing all that fluid at least. Will wait to hear from you how things are but you know we are all right there by your side in cyberland. Everything crossed for you buddy and hoping you will be back home soon and feeling more comfy. Love Lily x x x x x x x x x x x x x x
Magsi thank you again for updating us and the pm. If she is in there for long could you ask if she would like us to text her too.
Bev hope you get to the hospital in the bad weather they are forecasting and that they free you of the cast. Too cold for swimming brrrrr.
Hi Lis, missed you too and yes roll on tomorrow and the last day and 2 weeks off and no alarm clocks Any news on the new sex toy oh sorry massage prothesis lol. I think you should be careful who you tell that too or you might get a few offers!!
Thank you Nicky and I guess I might be on a roll tonight and typing away happily :)Yes it should be my last day tomorrow but a lovely thick white fluffy blanket of snow falling all evening is looking promising to close schools so maybe I am on holiday already :)About an inch on the roads and falling non-stop.
It has been a mad week. Christmas coming would be enough to send the liyyle people into a frenzy but Christmas and snow !!! One girl in my class screamed every time she opened her mouth she was so excited. We had secret santa today just incase the snow closed school and lots of sweets. Well we have had sweets all week actually and I think I have definitely bribed them to like me more than their last form tutor now ha ha. I have some really sweet well brought up ones who march up to me and say thank you very much for thinking of us Miss and I hope you have a nice evening. I also have one who cries because he doesn’t want to go home and I could cry with him if I didn’t know that would make him 100 times worse. He couldn’t bring a secret santa present as no money so I had to sneek one in, like an idiot I forgot to ask if it was a boy or a girl so last night had to go looking for sweets and wrapping paper. The person buying his was ill so he didn’t get one either. Wish I had taken 2.
Hi scottishlass, I think online banking security is the problem when it tracks passwords and things.
Right speak soon

Hi,
some very sad news about Debsincornwall has been posted in case you had not heard. What a terrible shame as she was one of the sweetest people to post regularly on here and will be sadly missed
oh no poor debs going to have a look now, that’s soooo sad she was a true inspiration.
Lorraine if you manage to log on or mags passes a mesage glad the draining helped you and hope and pray the biopsy results are better than anticipated.
Lily, cant believe you have snow, very jeleous, well roll on my sexy new pressie coming best offer i will get all xmas lol!!
Well im sitting on her posting with hairy legs, armpits, tash and just finished making myself some jewellery - picked up at 8.15am in my party gear so god knows how im gonna manage in the morning. Lily your secret santa sounds cool.
Well today put things in perspective for me, i was worrying cos felt dizzy then someone come to see me to see if they could send an email round the office, client who is 19 and has a 1 year old baby, no family around her and partner on drugs so split from him, so not only did he hit her, he burnt all her clothes, and stole all the babies xmas presents and sold them - they have nothing, so ive been shopping and bought the baby a little teddy, some baby biscuits, some jars of food and some biscuits, crackers and shampoo for the mum - we are trying to do a hamper to help her through xmas as couldnt even afford toilet roll today. Certainly makes you look at what you have so hope you all have a lovely weekend, on bucks fizz at 10am so we will see, happy days
Bev, sorry you cant go swimming, i’ll have to try hard for you once im back into it.
Love to all xxxx
Hello all
Nicky hope that your D arrives ok? Our son arrived safe and sound after an hour’s delay at Southampton this morning, but he got here at last and it is so lovely to see him, really feel Christmassy now.
Lisa hope your party is great, it will be, think of the joy this Christmas compared to last. Expect you will get home and get straight on the computer to let us know how it goes.
Lily, glad you have made it back here and what a lovely post about the children and the sweets.
Bev, fingers crossed for next Tuesday when the plaster comes off.
Lorraine, I really hope that you feel more comfortable now that the fluid has been drained a bit, and fingers crossed the biopsy is better news than you might be expecting.
We’ve had snow here, it arrived during the night and has snowed all day so is pretty thick now. The roads aren’t gritted, except for the big motorway roads, so our small village is almost cut off when we get snow. Still, we have plenty of wine, beer and nibbles if we get really stuck LOL.
Signing off now, am really tired, was excited about son arriving and was awake at 4 am - paying for it now though.
Have a good weekend all

Hi,
well had a post from magsi saying Lorraine had chuckled at my slip of food instead of feet so I am keeping this jolly. I think we know her well enough to know what a positive outlook she has on life. So Lorraine I guess the guys will be doing the hoovering and washing after all I guess you will be making me jealous by losing weight on hospital food with no cream cakes on offer. Take care and hopoing they are sorting out a good plan for you x.
Peacock glad your son got back ok and looking good to snow him in for longer than expected. I bet your shopping bill will expeand with another man in the house. My son eats vast amounts of food.
Hi Lisa, you can have my snow gladly. By the way was the party fancy dress? Sounds like you were going as a werewolf lol. You painted such a pretty picture of yourself :)Hope you had a good time and stood under the mistletoe. Sad story about that family and really nice that people try to help out.
Well grrrrr my school decided to be one of a handful in the county to open. I laid in bed and willed the phone to ring but no joy and dragged myself out of bed. My car had about 4 inches of snow on it and looked like it had a white hat on. Victor had gone on the 5 am train and had his office party today so he had walked 2 miles to the station!!!He said it was freezing. Worst part was that meant his tank of a car was hanging out the drive and I had to do a tricky manouvre to get past it. Set off up the road and next thing a big skid and I was sideways on across the whole road, fortunately still in our quiet road so didn’t hit anything. Went to continue and I was stuck on ice and the wheels were just going round and nothing, not even Audi award blooming winning technology would move me. Couldn’t go forward, couldn’t go back as sidewards and halfway up the hill across both lanes. What do I do in moments of panic - phone Victor, blessing his over-expensive car phone present that means I shout a name and it just rings them. Mr Cool says ‘what do you mean exactly by stuck’. Anyway he told me what to do, started in second gear and hey presto I started going back up the hill and crawled to work. Hooray. He was very sweet and stayed on the line talking me through it until I got onto a main road. He came home tonight absolutely popping as he had eaten too much and drunk rather a lot so has fallen into bed. No doubt will be snoring loudly by the time I go up. Little chap is stranded and here too so all go today with a snowman built on our deck looking through the window at us. Two weeks at home now and I am going to enjoy every minute. I suddenly got horrible pains and pulling under my good side arm followed by very restricted movement in my shoulder. Kept calm, mentioned this to Victor and within an hour he said he had the same pain!! I ask you -is it empathy or attention seeking? Anyway he fished out the swine flu jab leaflet and it is a symptom and has disappeared over night thank goodness. Christmas lunch at school, turkey and trimmings then apple crumble and custard and a quiz and a raffle and secret santa and then all off down the pub. Poor Tescos had to fight their way down my road tonight but I am now loaded up for Christmas and the week ahead. Thats if the men here don’t eat it all before the day as usual
Have fun and special big hugs for Lorraine
Lily x
Hi everyone
Thanks again Magsi for the updates and as you are our means of communication with Lorraine please wish her the very best and hope the hospital are pulling their fingers out - not literally I hope
Lisa - it just goes to show how other people are suffering and we don’t really know about it. Well done all of you for helping make that young girl’s Christmas far better than she had expected. On the party front I must admit I thought you were going as Santa - get yourself a good waxing session for Christmas LOL Hope you had fun and that you are getting some time off over the festive season as you work so hard.
Lily - I hate driving in the ice and snow - my car is just as bad as yours I think. Yet again our lane wasn’t gritted so very difficult to get out of our drive . Muggins here cleared the drive bit which ices up badly just to make sure we can all get in and out - no wonder I’m achey this morning. We’re partly decorated but need to get OH out to the Christmas Tree place this morning so we can embrace the whole experience! We’re a bit behind most houses (it seems) but I didn’t want to take ED’s ‘21’ balloons etc down too soon. Enjoy the time off - again - you deserve it.
Peacock. Yes YD did get home. All flights were delayed out of Paris as it was heavy snow but she was put onto an earlier flight which ended up leaving about the same time as her actual flight. Having said that her actual flight didn’t get in till early evening so it was worth it. They had to sit on the plane fpr ages whilst they de-iced it! Not sure it was a good flight as they flew into the snow storm at Heathrow when they landed! Anyway, she’s home and looking forward to a lovely Christmas with us all. Hope you are not snowed in for too long otherwise you’ll be fed up of the snacking and needing a main course!
Bev - good luck for Tuesday - then you can dance a jig in time for Christmas - don’t slip on any ice though - or you’ll be back to square one!
Take care everyone else I’ve not remembered and big hugs to our Lorraine.
Nicky xx
hi there buddies im back!
i delivered my water baby on thurs. at 12.30.t weighed approximately 4 litres it was a painful procedure, having the drain put in. but as resulted in a weight loss of 1 stone.
i went to see gynocologist on tues, and he said he thought cancer was showing on my right ovary and lot of water in stomach area, with enlarged lymph nodes.(as i think magsi explained)
anyway i still hadnt had it done on wed eve, and i was so uncomfortable and felt so ill,i just cried and cried they had to get a doctor and check me over. my sister had a bit of a rant and that moved them along.
all you keep hearing is the person needed to do this, is not available, i found out they only have someone 4 days a week to do it.
anyway they scan you and insert the drain and take biopsy, but the radiologist, said he thought ovaries looked normal, so now i have two different oppinions and you all know which one i prefer.
im hoping for a miracle my dear catholic friend sent me some holy water and i used it before i went in, so who knows.
its so nice to be home, even though its hard not to do a few jobs. they have kept it tidy it just needs a clean. i suppose i have to learn to let go.
glad your all keeping the festive spirit,
i had them all making party hats on the ward last night, out of the cardboard sick bowls, the nurse even give me some tinsel for mine, it made the nurses chuckle anyway,
i will try and put pic on sometime, i took one, but boy do i look fed up.
thanks for all your support as always, god bless.x
yipppeeee glad you are back, ha just sent you text before i read this. Wow a stone, you must have been in sooo much pain. God, got everything crossed that you ovaries are normal, must be sooo scary for you, when do you get results? everything crossed for you xxxx
Well, ive survived my party just but wore very high heels and today my legs and bum is aching like made, assume its walking all day on v high heels, or tottering. cant drink like i used to byt tequilla, vodka, sambuka, bucks fizz, wine and lager featured - need to learn im not one the blokes and dont need to do pint for pint with them!! hee hee
Lorraine youve just answered my question!!!
love from a not snowy cumbria xx
Hi,
Lorraine fab to hear from you and you have definitely earned cake every day for that. The draining sounded horrid but when the end result is a better quality then I guess it is easier to put up with. That is amazing one stone. I am afraid they would just be able to fry chips if they drained me Well you know we all have everything crossed for some better news but as usual it is out of our hands. Will keep sending positive vibes your way. Must be fab to be at home again. I think you need to be sensible as it might be tempting to take over the house chores again and you would be back to where you started. Sit on the sofa, stay in bed and ask people to do things for you. Victor does so many more things now without being asked after my 10 months on the sofa. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy as my Nan used to say.So pleased you are home
Lisa gosh that is a lot of alcohol I would not be standing after the first 2. Glad you don’t seem to be suffering today from the effects anyway. Still lots of snow here. The hairdresser, the Tesco delivery man and all our visitors have arrived saying yours is the worst road in the whole area. Even the Tesco van couldn’t get back up the hill. Little chap and I slid our way up to the post box. When we got there he had nothing in his hand so we had to retrace our steps and find our post. In the snow and wet!
Nicky talk about puuling their finger out, I think someone pulled Lorraine’s plug out! I am sure digging snow would come under activities to avoid after lymph nod surgery. So many of my local friends have been getting lymphoedema in the past few months and I think sometimes we just forget how it can affect you. Did he get the tree?Glad your baby got home, nest full again
Bev lots of luck with your hospital visit and hope you can get rid of the cast next week.
Thanks Magsi and you seem to have been shouldering a lot of bad news lately. Hope you are managing ok yourself x
Well the hairdresser came and din’t even ask what I wanted. Just dabbing colours and cutting and straightening and hey presto I have a chin length bob with a layered back. Wandered round the house trying to gain encouraging comments but 2 men hmmm not the enthusiasm I wanted. My Mother said what has happened to your hair its all flat. She likes it short and curly as she spends a fortune on perms for her straight hair. MD came in and saved the day by doing wows and gave me a good examination. I have not seen the other 2 yet. I knew there was a reason I had girls. Little chap has a long shaggy haircut too so we all look the same now except Victor who has ‘I work in the city and carry a briefcase haircuts’.
I thought Ricky was robbed on strictly. How did the weedy bloke beat pex like that ?
Welcome back again Lorraine
Love
Lily x
Hi everyone and an especially big welcome back for Lorraine. You poor thing but at least the enforced stay in hospital made sure you are comfortable - probably for the first time in weeks. Look after yourself, get those men to look after you as well and, as Lily says, get yourself a nice big cake - you deserve some treats. Good luck with all the tests that have been done, fingers crossed.
Lily - where’s the photo of the haircut? What do men know anyway? As I’m about to tell you all!
We are snowed in around us but our lane is just about clearing and then once onto the busier roads they are clear of snow but have to watch out for icy patches. A couple of walks in the snow have been lovely as it’s also been sunny. Very cold though. Brrrrr. Well OH got a tree, I was stupid enough to let him chose. Well, I was soooo disappointed with it I had a real go at him - poor thing. He ended up returning it - yes, you can! - and we now have one I have chosen. Boy do I sound bad but it was so skinny I called it anorexic, and we would have only got about half our stuff on it as we would have run out of branches! Enough said that we got a bit delayed with the decorating bit and it’s only got lights on at the moment - so no photo yet
Hope everyone is doing OK and the snow is not stopping you all. We’re up to London today for light seeing (yes, L, not S) We’ve always tried to do it since ED was little as it’s so near her birthday. Last year I wasn’t going anywhere so we’ve decided to go up later today and also visit the Christmas Market near Waterloo, our train station. Will be wrapping up though.
Nicky xx
enjoy all, of out for a walk again as we have snow, yiippppeeee, better get my food ordered online!!!
happy sunday xx
Hi all,
Nicky enjoy the lights how lovely and good that you have your daughter home after all the delays that appear to be affecting everyone that must be a relief. Enjoy!
Lisa you certainly sound as if you are getting into the christmas spirit!! and well done for helping out with the young mum some people do have it tough through others.
Lorraine well done to have got through such a horrible experience and still be able to make party hats! you are a true trooper!! thinking of you and wishing for a good outcome so glad you are more comfortable now but take it easy.
Lily lovely to hear about your class it really made me smile to think of kiddie who screams with excitement how wonderful to have that feeling. Your Victor sounds great. I agree totally Lily Ricky deserved to win Strictly it makes a bit of mockery of it, Chris is lovely guy but the programme is supposed to be about the most talented dancer and the final should have been between Ali and Ricky.
Peacock good to hear you have your son home for christmas. We will be seeing our son and girlfriend but our daughter who lives in France will be busy working (ski resort) so for the 4th christmas running we will be apart which is hard but we will speak on the phone.
Thanks all for the good wishes re the damn plaster and yes I am soooo hoping that it will be removed on Tuesday as I am sick of hopping around and will be so glad to be able to go outside again without needing to be in a wheelchair. We have loads of snow and I am so jealous of others being able to go for a lovely walk. Counting down the hours now!!!
love to all and be in touch soon.
Bev xx
hi buddies
it was wonderful to have my own bed, and i can even sleep on my side at the moment. bliss. i think i have a cold coming now, so im definetly resting and taking it easy. my eldest son was brill today, he tidied right through, even cleaned windows, something i havnt done this year! my 14 year old also did some chores, but was brassed off with his brother criticising him. and they all keep grumbling about others not keeping it tidy after theyve done it, i think this is going to be just as difficult as doing it myself.
didnt get up till about ll today, been eating little bits, but couldnt do with cakes at the moment, they cant believe it here.
ive gone completly off sweet stuff.
trying not to think of tuesday too much, i dread going for results though. my church friends are praying, so i hope it works.
hope your all having some fun, at this busy time
take care x
Hi,
Nicky that is definitely a no no - an annorexic Christmas tree1 Bad enough everyone else being slim, without the tree trying to look slim lol. How was your trip up to town? I find it really hard work going to London from here and can’t believe I used to commute every day. You get out of it so quickly.Have you finished your shopping yet?
Lisa glad to hear you have the snow you hoped for. Our road is still like the Arctic. Are you with your family for Christmas?
Bev not long to go. Just be very careful as a slip at this stage could be disasterous. Glad you like the stories of my school family. I can see myself getting really attached to this form.
Lorraine you are sounding brighter, must be the comforts of home. Did they use a drain like after the ops to get the fluid off? I was just wondering if you came home with plumbing in. Where does all the fluid come from and is it a one off or does it gradually build up again? Sorry ignore me if too many questions. How lovely to read something so positive about your eldest and maybe this is what he needs to make him feel needed and take on a bit of responsibility. I think it is hilarious them not wanting their work wrecked. Thats the only reason anyone picks things up and cleans. Let them get on with it and enjoy it being done but most of all that they want to do this for you :)I am very concerned about you having cake withdrawal symptoms and have doubled my intake in sympathy ha ha. It was toffee apple sponge and cornish ice cream tonight yum. Anyway just make sure you keep your protein intake up to build and repair all the bits. We will all be holding our breath and crossing fingers and sending positive thoughts to you for Tuesday. I hope there will be some positive news for you and a good plan how to get you feeling much better.
Well I went shopping today with ED and got quite a few pressies. Although I spent a lot of time getting presents for other people for other relatives! I was going to cut down on the kids but here we are again and I think they have around 25 presents each AGAIN! I don’t know quite how it happened but I enjoyed buying them. Little chap probably has 50 from the look of it. Thats one hell of a lot of wrapping. ED is very jealous of us all off work now as she works on a magazine and they have lots of print deadlines so she has to work up to Christmas Eve. Well nothing much else to report, take care on the ice
Lily x
morning girlies
relitively peaceful night. my drain is still filling, im concerned if they take it out, im going to blow up again.
the nurses tried to explain where it comes from but i dont quite understand it, i think its calles ascites., i think its what the blood vessels cant handle and so is released, but not sure.
another day in today, macmillan nurse calling later at least i can air some thoughts with her
there was a lady in hospital, who had had bowel cancer and had secondarys and now spread to her ovaries. she is a district nurse, she was seeming to cope really well, and one morning she just broke down and finally admitted how scared she was, with me i just dread more ops, chemo, and finding the strength to keep getting through one thing after another
i really hope i can get better before tommorow, supposed to be going pantomine with grandsons,
xxxx
