What a day. Got to the hospital and hour late because of roads being shut due to the storm last night. Port didn’t work … had an ultrasound to check it, all fine but now half to wait till Tuesday to have round 3 as it’s too late to start all my treatment ???
Im frustrated as my 3rd chemo has been postponed, I’m really disappointed as that’s two out of three delayed. When I went for pre-chemo yesterday my oncologist wasn’t there and no one happy with me having FEC again after my reaction last time. They contacted the oncologist and he’s changing the cocktail, probably to docetaxel and I presume I will start the herceptin with it. I’ve got to stay in hospital for few hours just in case of another reaction. I’m miffed that this hadn’t already been discussed and a plan made rather than when im there saying ‘oh this is the lady with the extreme reaction’! What a waste of a visit. Had my picc line inserted this morning, it took 3 goes so arm feeling a bit battered.
What are the main differences between FEC and docetaxel? When I asked I was told oh they are all similar, nausea, fatigue etc xx
Hey Mamadeacs - don’t know what the differences are as I’m on Docetaxel for the full 6 rounds (also with Carboplatin and Herceptin). I know people dread the ‘tax’ part but it’s not been as horrendous as I was expecting as long as you take the anti sickness on time etc. I’m on 4 drugs so it’s pretty hardcore but by day 10 I was going back into work… if that helps?! ?
So annoyed by it being pushed back. I had my heart set on my final chemo date and now it’s 5 days later. I know it’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but when you psych yourself up for something and it changes it just feels rubbish ?xx

So it was ???yesterday for the chemo ???I should move onto rads mid Feb, keep going lovely ??? ladies you dare doing amazing???

Thanks Sam, Shi & Kirsty, not feeling too bad today just a bit spaced out but taking steroids until tomorrow so just resting, hopefully be ok for work on Monday.

My turn for a trip to A&E today! Have had a cold for a few days and just didn’t feel right this morning. Temperature was 38.1 so I couldn’t ignore it. A&E were fantastic, I was seen straight away and tested for sepsis, a bed was found and I had a chest X-ray. Luckily everything came back within normal range and I was sent home with some antibiotics in case anything is lurking. I start paclataxol on Thursday do a bit anxious about a new drug and new dide effects. Also a bit worried about my veins going the distance as I can only have it done in one arm. This time round my arm has been sore and the nurse today said the vein may be burned!! Are there any other one-arm bandits out there that have gone the distance? Xx

Day 4 for me and side effects kicked in yesterday afternoon, really painful bloated stomach, lower back pain and aches and pains from head to foot, feel worn out. xx
Feel so sorry for you Rabbit. Hope you don’t have to go into work tomorrow…
What chemo are you on?
I am day 11 of 2nd FEC and feeling almost normal. One more FEC then start T. Hair a few wisps, all taken off on Weds and wig
fitting.
Think my tumour feels less defined so taking heart that chemo might be working!
Must hold that thought!
Hi Camilla, no don’t think I’ll be going to work tomorrow. I’ve just started abraxane after two severe reactions one to T and also weekly paclitaxel. This still paclitaxel but made in a different way.
Find it eases if I walk around but don’t the energy and didn’t sleep well last night due to the steriods and pain. No steroids today so hopefully I can get a good nights sleep and it will ease off a bit. xx
Hi ladies . I start my steroids on Tuesday ready for treatment on Wednesday . I mistakenly took my steroids morning and evening on the first day time and could not sleep at all it was suggested I took them morning and lunchtime which seemed to work much better. Wednesday is round three so mid point for me . We are strong women and despite what this throws at us we get back up and fight . Wishing you all the good luck whatever stage in the cycle you are and thanks to you all for being there x
Hey Cathrin- I did that first time round and was also told to take them morning and lunch time! I was told take the last one at 2pm at the latest and that seems to have worked! I’m in for round 3 on Tuesday so back on the steroids tomorrow! Like you said though… halfway! ??

A anyone having trouble with toliet issues I think I’ve developed piles it’s so sore
Yes Karebear I have and thought the same I ended up with a fungal infection some cream and tablets cleared it up x
