Hi I had my first one 3 weeks ago but havnt had any bleeding, tbh the nurse didn’t actually tell me what to expect? I’m sure it’s just a normal side effect? Xx
How’s everyone doing I’m guessing a few of us have finished radiotherapy? I got told at physio today they will treat me for lymphedema in my arm following mastectomy, joy!!! Add it to the list
I’m on prostrap rather than zoladex, I think they are similar. I got my first injection back in December to switch off my ovaries to try keep my fertility so I got a lot of the side effects alongside my first chemo so it’s hard to know what was what!
I definitely had a last period though and I think it went on a lot longer than usual.
I’ve done 11/19 radiotherapy sessions now and been on letrozole for around 2 weeks now. I’ve got hot flushes but apart from that I seem to be doing okay . I’m looking forward to not having to go to the hospital everyday.
It seems like so many people have the same experience with the lymph nodes looking clear and then not being clear. I think it is a big shock for people.
I can’t get my head around how something that can’t be seen on an MRI and US can then still have macromets after an otherwise pretty good response to chemo.
Thank you I’ve no real symptoms had all measurements done but she thought it felt more puffy so n one side so being cautious I’d rather keep on top of it now rather than it get too bad xxx
@emilyxxx, I haven’t started radiotherapy yet. I had a pre-op yesterday for my lymph node clearance. I’m a bit anxious. Not for the surgery itself, but for the pathology results. This reminds me of the early days when I had awful anxiety with the unknowns.
@sheraldo those feelings are completely valid all of this comes with a lot of ptsd for sure xxx sending positive thoughts your way!
My hair is growing really well now, only really started to appear two weeks ago, look like I have a buzz cut and now brave going out without covering my head, scary but just felt I had to do it, eyelashes growing nicely and I have the first sign of eyebrows, how’s yours doing?? Xx
My last chemo was on 17th April. My eyebrows and eyelashes seem to still be on pause. I think my hair is starting to fill out a bit. Although I’m still shaving it. I think it’s too sparse to try and grow it out at the minute.
Ah your a few weeks behind me finishing chemo so I’m sure it won’t be long mines only just showed up last two weeks x good luck with your surgery do you have a date?
Sorry for the late reply have been a little unwell after my last chemo. I think it’s a mastectomy for me as my tumour was quite big but I had my final scan this week so will see what the surgeon says x
No date yet but it will be end of June. They said it should be 4-6 weeks after the last chemo but I have the little issue of getting Harry Styles tickets at the end of June so hoping they will let me have it after that
Hey how’s everyone doing? have many people started the long term meds? I’ve had an appointment to have my first abemaciclib at the chemo ward? I thought it was tablets?? Too much to remember! Xx
@emilyxxx Hello! Doing ok here except for very sore vein damage from picc line dvt. My appointment is Monday but yes my understanding is definitely tablets-maybe they’re doing the blood test on the ward or is it for the biophosphates maybe? X
@whataloadof sorry to hear your having trouble, yes I have a blood form but no idea when I’m to go have bloods done either will call them Monday as the date to start is just before my holiday so am going to request delaying until I’m back, I don’t want any more side effects to deal with before I go, I’m already aching like an OAP from letrozole! Xx
@emilyxxx Definitely wait until after hols! When do you go away? So exciting Emily!!
Told myself I will start letrozole on Monday after this mini-break recovering from radiotherapy guess it’s time for the next thing to fight this devil xx
@whataloadof we go 17th July for a week in turkey with our 3 youngest kids we had to postpone due to treatment so very much looking forward to it, and the thought of having chronic diarrhoea from new meds is not something I’m willing to do right now!!
Letrozole has been much better than I feared only side effects is the aching but it does ease off once I’m moving around so hopefully it’s kind to you too, sending love xxx
I’m doing great. I have had about 3 months holiday from chemo and I will be starting Herceptin injections on 8 June. I’m a bit nervous about it, but hopefully the SEs won’t be too harsh.
