December Angels 2013

Hi December Angels,
Although I have joined November Newbies I haven’t reached the chemo stage yet so guess more likely to be December. I had a lumpectomy and SN biopsy, two positive nodes so had ANC on Monday, still in hospital with my lovely drain. I’ll get the results next week and have had the oncotype test too. Am definitely having radio and tamoxifen but borderline for chemo, will decide when I get all the results but trying to mentally prepare by getting my head round it all. Nothing is static so my diagnosis may have changed by next week (what a roller coaster!) good luck with your treatments,
Julia x

Good morning everyone, I woke up this morning feeling a bit low and decided to read one of the booklets called “How Are You Feeling?” the emotional effects of cancer.  very comforting.  I recomend it if you haven’t read it

Lots of love x

Evening girls, hope you’ve all had a good day.
Setareh- sorry to hear you were a bit down yesterday, how did the oncologist appointment go today? Thanks for the leaflet recommendation.

Darling J - hope u get home soon, keep positive & try not to worry, things seem to change so easily on this journey(especially after they get the pathology reports). It must be so difficult to have to choose if u want chemo or not, like choosing to jump into the frying pan or the fire! I was fortunate in not having to choose & my chemo should start Monday.

Been to have PICC fitted today but one vein too close to artery & the other wouldn’t take it (too small). They thought chemo would have to be delayed but managed to get appointment in X-ray for Central line to be inserted 1st thing on Monday so fingers crossed chemo will still go ahead.

Love & hugs to you all, keep strong & positive we’re gonna get thru this x

the hardest part for me is to tell my family.  I went to see my Mum and sister today and I was going to tell them but I couldn’t.  They looked very happy.  How could I tell them?

hi i was diagnosed on 30th october with idc , had wle and anc 3 weeks ago , it was stage 3 with 2 nodes involved , unfortunatley my surgeon didnt manage to get full clearance in breast , he wants me to have the chemotherapy first then either another wle or mastectomy . oncology appointment arrived this morning for tuesday , i am absolutley terrified of going , but , am eager for the chemo to start . i have had a very rough time accepting the diagnosis and trying to get on with everyday life , today is a bad day . i have been reading a lot of these forums over the last few days and you have all helped answer a lot of my questions and worries . take care everyone . love tri xxxx

Thanks kaz and gilly you have already calmed me down a bit . I know what you mean gilly I am also a nurse we make bad patients lol . Take care of yourselves and thanks again . Love tri . X

Hi Ro21
Also thinking of you today.
Hugs jac

Hi girls, thank you so much for your good wishes. feeling a bit emotional but better than I expected to. Chemo itself (FEC) only took about an hour.

Was at hospital at 8am to have central line inserted. preparation took approx 1hr but putting it in was quite quick. I have to admit it was a bit painful when they put the anesthetic in but a lovely lady held my hand & it didn’t last long.

Had a bit of a headache since chemo n neck aches where line goes in but feeling quite ok. Had my hot ginger cordial to ward off sickness as I felt cold & now am peeing what looks like rose wine!!

So it’s not been as bad I thought it would be, I know it’s very early days for SE but I feel the journey has started again & things are moving forward so I’m really glad about that. Feel a little like crying(which really isn’t like me) just enjoying the peace n quiet before OH and sister come home.

Love n hugs to next recipient, (sorry I should have checked who was next before I started typing)

Hi Ladies.

Can I join??

Due to start FEC week starting 16th but am waiting for actually date confirmation in the post.

I had Grade 2 invasive ductal carcinoma and left mastectomy with implant on 13th November.

All seems to have happened so quickly.  Its actually today, getting the go ahead from the oncologist, that i have managed to take in some of what has happened these last 8 weeks.

I feel a glass of wine on the cards tonight.  Before i don’t fancy it anymore

SE Day 2 for me has been fine, worst bit was waiting all day for district nurses( poor dogs had to stay in kennel for hours). But now had injection and dressing changed so they now won’t need to come tomorrow yipee. Been taking forum advice so taking the extra anti sickness tablets every 6hrs even tho only felt a bit quesy. Think I need to put Xmas tree up tomorrow.
