I am watching this now on itv2. Well, I am doing my best to watch it through my tears! The 6 ladies with bc are doing so well and their stories and thoughts keep really connecting for me. It is also so helpful to see other girls my age who have had bc as I have felt quite isolated. Am really pleased I am watching this and thanks for making this programme.
Im just about to watch on itv2+1 … sounds like i need to get the tissues ready!! looking forward to it, thanks for post!!!
fantastic programme. i feel inspired!
Oh, forgot to say, bcc if you are looking for volunteers for charity trek2, the revenge, then I would selflessly put myself forwards…
Looking forward to watching the second part of this programme next Monday.
Needed a few hankies watching this, Paula posted in the mx feb thread, treatment buddies so to speak, and it was like watching a friend.
Thanks for the comments - if any of you are serious about doing a similar trek (can’t promise there will be celebs or TV cameras!) - you can see what overseas challenges we run here: events.breastcancercare.org.uk/server/show/nav.10
Hi everyone, the second part of this is on tonight. Itv2 at 9pm, or itv2+1 at 10pm too I suppose!
And don’t forget the tissues…
My husband has already hung his head in despair as he said why do I want yo watch it again if it made me cry last week. Well, dirty dancing made me cry the first time I saw it, but it didn’t stop me watching it another 44,724 times (approx…)!
I’ve just looked at the link that Leah suggested and noticed there is a Great Wall of China trek in October 2011. It brought tears to my eyes as visiting the Great Wall has been a life long dream of mine and what better way to do it by raising money for BC research at the same time. I wish I had a crystal ball so I could see what kind of health I will be in by next October. Still, I’m determined to get there one day
Visiting china is also one of my ambitions, Vickie, are you up for it, I’ll swap my pap bus pass for ticket to bejing!!
Thanks for the reminder. Am going to watch it at 10pm as masterchef on till 10pm tonight. Really pleased that someone like Alexandra is on it as this got my 17 year old YD daughter watching and hopefully taking in some of the bc info.
Yep tina, am up for it. Also think am going to suggest it should be a celebrity event and that we should nominate our preferred celeb. I’m thinking David tennant for me.
Well I’ll show my age ( again) and say I would want Martin Shaw. Having walked on the great wall pre BC I can tell you it’s not easy! I only did approximately half an hour and I was exhausted. Think heat plus very uneven steps sometimes so steep you are crawling and you are part way there. If you do go I’ll stay at home and sponsor you both!
Can I suggest Jamie Oliver…we could get him to do the cooking!
Gary Barlow & Ronan Keating will do for me!
This is fast becoming my fantasy trek!
Petal, actually Martin Shaw does it for me, too. You are such a well travelled lady, I am
hugely impressed. If Shaw is busy, could we ask Clive Owen or Richard Armitage? Wouldn’t object to Colin Firth either…
Can I have Ewan McGregor? I think he would be an excellent ambassador for bc, for lots of reasons. Well actually can’t think of any but following him might make me walk faster. Am sky plusing the program so I can watch it, tissues at the ready, on my own tomorrow. Dx
Hi,
South Africa has been a dream of mine since the ending of apartheid so I’m signing up for next year’s Trek South Africa. (This year’s trek begins on Friday). I didn’t know any of them had been televised and I’ll be tuning in tonight. I just hope it doesn’t put me off if it’s very hard. Although, if Ewan McGregor was on the trek nothing would put me off.
