Today painting bedroom cupboard and deciding on this years Christmas card, Ian has done his business one, now concentrating on personal one got a lovely picture of our dogs with party hats on so may use that. I know we are really sad, but thats life in Cornwall in the winter.
This knitting prosthesis well all my home made jumpers dropped and drooped so I think a knitted boob will age just like my real one.

Well, since finishing all that nasty chemo and rads I’ve been running around like headless chicken trying to catch up with myself. Whitedragon says I’d better get out of the way if I meet myself coming back!
Today I am taking my rather appearance conscious boss to a seminar. EamesK kindly organised parking for me at the facility (coz she works there!). However, I really NEED a 4x4 and it’s covered in mud! My boss won’t be impressed if he shows up at the seminar with mud on his suit - - so I have to go and get the motor cleaned first…and there’s a surcharge for excessively soiled vehicles (ARGH!) As soon as I go up and down my track again it’ll be like it hasn’t been cleaned!
Och well - it’s all in the aid of education - it’s an employment seminar. I was just all nicely trained up when I had to give up casework, so I’m rusty having used my skills only once. This is a refresher (hopefully!) and help me get my brain back in the groove.
I suppose I should go and shower, get the glad rags on, get the car away to be washed (having breakfast whilst they do that for me) and then collect boss for the seminar. I can’t get going…I need some time off but don’t have time to spare!
Another day another hassle!

well hello there. how did the seminar turn out? was your boss impressed with your clean engine? Are you all learned up and ready for business these days?
I am off work for a week – nothing big this time, just vacation. I used some vac up for rads but had at least 80 hours to burn. So, took off this week to clean clean clean for family that’s coming for Thanksgiving. This house hasn’t been cleaned to gleaming in a while!!! Well, I have been busy doing other stuff like surviving! So the silver is polished, the floors are mirrorlike, the cabinets and furniture is well rubbed, the bathrooms sparkle and clutter is GONE. On the backside of our house we have a laundry room, mud room?, that catches all the stuff and this time, since its been awhile, I had to clean that out too. Woo-hooo…even the rugs are clean . 2 rooms left – tidying up the guestroom with new sheets etc and the upstairs bathroom, last touches. So…it feels good and smells better.
Tomorrow the kids come in at night. Andy and family (inlucd DiL and GD) and Tim and new girlfriend…and SD is coming of course. We should be 8 of us. And the Thanksgiving Celebration party for me in Saturday when we fold in another couple, my buddy Cindy and husband. So I have planned it so all cleaning done by Weds morn when I start making my apple with cranberry pie, two pumpkin pies, and mincemeat tarts. Food is bought and the extra refrigerator is on and filled!!! I may just get some fruit so we can enlist GD to help make fruit salad for everyone. Her daddy and his brother used to do that for Thanksgiving when her age…
Still in cleaning mode…Emily polishes the bar and chairs and leaves the windows gleaming.
ahhhhhhhh smell that Febreeze…good stuff.
Virtually peels apples, slicing them wafer thin
piles up in middle of pastry and throws in a cup or two of fresh cranberries
mixes in demara sugar, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and salt
dots with butter
covers with pastry shell and pierces shell with decorative swirls to let steam out
puts it in the oven
miraculously it is done in an instant (love these virtual pies…)
puts on cake rack to cool
sets up fridge with egg nog, fruit, cheeses and breads
and champagne cocktail
hugs to all
it is good to be here again

Well my dearest OH came home last Thursday after 3 weeks away, came down with cronic man-flu on friday, spent Sat and Sun in bed moaning a groaning [and not for THAT reason you dirty lot!!] and then went off for another two weeks on Monday.
Still we are having a week off work soon to decorate the new hall so will probably drive each other nuts LOL!!
Am going to help myself to one of EJ’s champagne cocktails and raise a glass to everyone for a Happy Thanksgiving
oh my word EJ - and then you do all that AGAIN for Christmas? I’d go on holiday instead!

Employment seminar was dead good - mock tribunal - the wine was bowfing but the canapes were great!
Thanksgiving 30th November isn’t it? That’s St Andrews Day for us…I’m away to a St Andrews Ball on Friday night. It’s a swine trying to find gladrags that don’t flash all my scars etc!

It’s not easy finding nice party stuff that doesn’t show scars but the lights are normally low so its not as obvious as when trying on in changing rooms with those lovely overhead halogen lights that make us look just fabulous [not].
Go for it and bling up to the max [have spent to long with teenagers I think]
I’ve come to the conclusion I’ll just wear some of my old stuff and scars be damned.
Virtually everybody there will have heard I’ve not been well
So sod it! The scars say I’m a survivor I suppose!

Thanksgiving was yesterday and it was great
dinner came off wondefully
Tim’s gf was a major help – dived right in there and helped as opposed to the dil who just sat (not surprised)
A. brought over Wii so GD and folk have been playing sports games all weekend
today we are off to movies and then something else but NOT shopping
today is Black Friday which is when most folks descend on stores for major bargains
but its way to rough and besides stores have been 60% off since October so how much can you save???
westie…good decision…go with what you have. OH tells me that in some clothese I wear if you look hard you can see a shade of difference in the neckline where I had rads. But hey, if someone has to work that hard to find fault, then they can see it. I am not wearing turtlenecks for the rest of my life!!!
see you all later when kids have gone back on Sunday morning. Tomorrow is the party which should be fun. I arranged for them to take a group photo of us all!

Have just dropped in for a wee dram to wish Westie and friends Happy St Andrew’s Day
Have been prepping for decorating all afternoon, I hate all that rubbing down and sugar soaping bit but it has to be done. I can leave himself to do the painting now and go for lunch with girl friends without feeling guilty [as if].
Bit of a Billy No Mates tonight so its beans on toast and frosties for tea washed down with very large glass of red.

The DDI is quiet these days but that’s not all bad cos it means people are getting better and getting on and we all catch up every now and then.
Yes i agree. I’m on rads now and am glad chemo is finished but i’ll be even better when al treatment is finished . oh, thats hubby he’s taking me out for a wee while, will pop back later for that dram. bye
