Dew Drop Inn Too

We girls make it up as we go along but those bosses can get in the way sometimes

Happy Birthday Lilac, have a great one, you seeing your man this weekend then?

Hi everyone else, No. 3 has been pretty OK so far apart from the hiccups and fatigue not too bad, I think the hair was the real issue the last time and now it’s gone and I am doing the commando thing then there is no worries.

Hope everyone else is fine and dandy xoxo

Hey happy birthday from me too!!! Whata way to celebrate a crusty toe!!!

really enjoyed chattign with leeloo last night and we are now seriously thinking of booking a commado type course - u know the stuff - sleeping without a roof/canvas with only a dog end to light a fire…

Yah right!!! i was joking but we both recognised that many of the places on offer in the lakes do double beds… we may be friendly but sharing a bed straight off may be a tad much…

LOL swimming cossie from amoena arrived today - the top half is fine but they seem to think people have bigger legs than me so i have funny ‘pooks’/baggies at the bottom end… but hey it is just for exercise purposes and i was more concerned re top fitting than bottom!!! plus 2 bras - 1 i like and one i am not sure about… these are my post rads prize… tho since the one i like is wired (i always used to wear wired bras), i may have to wait till skin calms down!

rads were running v late today - they were trying to capture a pic of someone’s treatment thingie and the system kept crashing… a student was trying to line me up and the 2 old hands were yacking re my work…(do they have a list of conversational gambits?) while she was - but bless her she did v well and was only marginally slower and she has good people skills so i think she will make a good radiographer - i like knowing that people are moving up and learning.

how was today ej???

are u feel rough westie?

Much love to all

I have the queen and her mother comign tomoz - lol my sis and our mum (my sis can be scary!!!)

Happy Birthday Lilac! There’s always something to celebrate in this bar… and on the odd occasions when there isn’t, we’ll just have to invent something. I’ll have a Pimms, but pass on the parasol as I always end up with it stuck up my nose.

Interested in the idea of the Lakes trip: after all, the OH goes away without me about three times a year with his mates, usually somewhere a bit warmer, but it is my Mum’s 80th next August, and we don’t know yet what we are doing to celebrate. My sister suggested paying for her and my lovely long-suffering Dad to go somewhere else! Keep me in the loop, as they say.
The commando style thing isn’t for the Lakes is it, I’m not that hardy, it is many, many years since I was a guide rubbing two boy scouts together to make a fire… now that could sound wrong in some minds, don’t go that way girls!

What size are you Jen? I bought a cozzie from ebay without properly checking the size, and its too small for me, its a 34" bust. If its any good to you, you’re welcome. If you don’t want to air your vital statistics to the world you can PM me.

first things first…HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU…HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR LILAC, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!
Good to hear you are feeling better and the toe is behaving itself!
Anything cool planned for today?

Congratz AJ – GREAT NEWS!!! You should also be planning something special today!

Hey Leeloo – glad chemo is not so bad this time around. I swear we are in a time warp here…it seems as though you should be done by now (which I am sure is how you feel too!)

hI Jen – swimsuit sounds nice; you can always eat a bit more and fill out the pants!!! well, prob not a good suggestion…

dived off my diet last night as our power went out for about 3 hours - no laptop, no tv, nothing electronic
so OH decided to get us all out and go th Dairy Queen…so I figured since we were wasting time there might as well have a peanut buster parfait…sigh
initiate the rads (as you all say, me too now)

came home to light up my Yankee Candles (very fragrant) and lots of other candles…looked like a cross between a entry to a church and a seance…
and lights came on a bit later

Glad everyone is out and about…it;s a gorgeous day here in PA – sun shining, very cool for August (70) and nice. If I had the energy and time, I’d go to the ocean and just sit on a rock for awhile.

Well I’m glad you’ve got the sunshine EJ, because we certainly haven’t here. Been raining gently but persistently nearly all day, though it has stopped now. Can’t someone give you a lift out to your rock?

I have a fun packed evening ahead…tidying the store room at our village hall, trying to make room for a couple of crates of stuff for our newly formed Mother and Toddler group. Who knows what I may find lurking in the dark recesses behind the tea urn and spare cups… mind you, the bar is open, run by OH tonight, so it won’t be too bad, and there will be someone to deal with any real horrors, like giant spiders.

And on Sunday we are back there clearing gutters and drains. Heavy downpours really do show up the troublespots, so it’s on with the Marigolds again…anyone got a spare pair of really long heavy-duty ones?
I think I’ll opt for gutters, I’d rather do ladders than lie on the carpark with my arm down a drain! What bliss…

hi silver, sounds like a plan. busy is good. your interest and involvement in the village sounds so nice. how did you make that connection…was it through work first?
I visualize you surrounded by people and events, its very neat!!!

Sunday doesn’t sound like much fun, though; hope it passes fast for you. glad to hear you arethinking re the lakes trip; it should be quite an event.

about the rock, too many complications. my son arrives tomorrow so can’t really take off. maybe I ask him to go away with me for a day on the beach, that’s a nice thought.

had my ct setup today; it is very humiliating and it didn’t help that the tats person was a man. oh well. its done. found out I don’t start radiation on monday, but not till they get the results back, in about a week or week and half. neat!!! I can plan on escaping with one of my friends during the week!!! I’VE HAD A REPRIEVE!!!

Escape sounds good! Get the boy to earn his keep and take you out, he may be a Big Shot in his world, but he’s still your baby.

Re village… I’ve lived here for 25 years, so it’s the place I know best, longest I’ve ever lived anywhere. My son was born here, he’s never known anywhere else as home. Different houses, but same village… gets slightly crazy as we often sell houses to each other, not as incestuous as it sounds, honest. But it is a very busy, caring, supportive, if nosy place to live. And as we have no pub or shop the village hall is quite an important centre of village life.
The hall is run by the people who use it: a committee made up of all regular groups that book it, so all sides are represented, which can lead to long and often heated meetings if there is disagreement, (who would of thought that erecting a fence so the kiddies cannot run straight out into the car park would be SO controversial!) but at least we are all keen to keep the place maintained and running smoothly.

Sounds like you’ve got everything ready for your son’s arrival, what’s on the menu?

Yoh silver… i am 36 E … airs size to the world with abandon…um i think pint pots and quarts? tho ty for the offer!!

… lol ordered size 18 cozzie for top - which is good. op side has a bingo bit at tail end of breast that was - maybe some swelling from rads kicking in … but i am triangular sort of…so bottom was always gonna be toooooo big! it isn’t the cossie i wd like but it is ok to swim in and prosthesis aint gonna fall out.

I was trying to go to sleep earlier - felt so tired… failed. Now i feel awake but tired hmmmmmmmm
rads are weird!

EJ… you don’t like men seeign your chest? hmm… at least it’s not like women who may go pah - my chest is better than hers… am laughing

ok
later…

I always think that as soon as you are pregnant you can abandon all ideas of modesty, there always seems to be someone fiddling around with your bits, and I suppose all medical things go the same way. Depends how the staff handle it I think.
Re chattering away when staff are doing nasty things to you…a friend once told me that, when having an internal examination, if you open your mouth, it stops the muscles from tensing up…the picture conjured up of said friend, prone upon the couch, feet up in stirrups, and mouth wide open caused immediate hysteria.

Right, off to sort out cupboards, if you never hear from me again the Giant Spiders have got me…aaagh

sue - u are so brave - we had 8 inch spiddie in house and i made son do it… i think he was scared too!

dont talk about spiders i am truely petrified, terrified even
anna

hello girls and gareth

thanks for all the b’day wishes. I’m not long in - have been out to a real pub for my dinner … seem to be making a habit of it cos that’s 3 times in the last 7 days I’ve been out… I’ll be getting a reputation.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILAC!!! Do we get to do “dumps”??? Forgive the chemo brain - but does that make you 20 days older than me???

Whose scared of spiders? How on earth do you think the spider feels?

oh… i went for a little nap round about 7 and i have just woken up… it’s 1.30am…

hmmm

silversue - sounds like the epitome of community or a variation on desperate housewives Wisteria Lane!!! I’ll go for the community, sounds wonderful. people only dream of that type of relationship with neighbors.

jen - lapsing in and out of sleep again…poor babe…its all this work organizing doing it…

anna - agree…HATE spiders

watched a bit of the olympics and talked on the phone for ages tonight. my son changed his plans, he is still coming but he is bringing my granddaughter along!!! holy smokes, this changes everything!!!

perhaps we can talk in the morning…and I thought I was just going to change sheets…

Aww Em - am absolutely delighted for you that son is bringing granddaughter - wtg girl - have fun with her. Now, the golden rule is for you to save as much energy as you can now so that you can really enjoy her company - SO TAKE IT EASY TODAY. Tip - go to bed shortly after she does - a growing girl needs nearly as much sleep as a convalescent old granny!

What is this problem with spiders? I have to gather them alive out of the bath most mornings and put them on the windowsill outside! Mind you - try and give me an injection and prior to all this I’d have punched your lights out!

And the pain has commenced. Think it is the neulasta so far - upper legs. Tax affects lower legs (in the past). Tramadol queen - that’s me. And Movicol queen. And dexamethasone queen. And something for heartburn queen. Don’t shake me - for goodness sake!

Have a nice day y’all xxx

can I just say in the defence of spiders, anything that eats a fly has got my vote. I can only think Mother Nature was suffering serious PMT the day she invented the fly, revolting creatures especially if you have a dog and clear up poop!!!

EJ - what a lovely treat for you having your granddaughter to visit, what better excuse to leave the chores for someone else.

I had wondered about sleeping arrangements for the Lakes, double beds seem a bit cosy for a first meet, hopefully the chemo induced windy pops will have calmed down by next spring LOL!! We’ll just have to drink more vodka. SS hope you can come along too, we need a full DDI turnout.

Keep taking the tablets Westie, I used to worry about taking the odd paracetomol then I found out you can take an entire pharmacy in one go!!

Hope you had a lovely birthday Lilac and the foot didn’t hold you back too much.

Lisa, what are you and Jen on? Commando?? I said I only do tents if they are the size of a marquee with private facilities, hot running water and mains connected!!!

I have to go to the gym today, not been all week oops, then Tesco is calling so fun fun fun all the way.

Have a nice day girls, probs be in tonight.

AJxxx

Wow AJ - Gym AND Tesco - most impressive.

Must say the steroids have finally hit the spot and I have been marching around rather wierdly due to leg pain, and getting loads done. I’ve tidied the kitchen, emptied & filled dishwasher, done 4 washes, sorted out the shoes in the porch (only footwear liable to be covered in sheep/horse pooh should be left there, but everything is!), hung up 3 washes, made a huge shopping list for OH (who is now away doing his chores as per my note!), made my bed beautifully (looks like it belongs in a showhome - with all the cushions on the bed, rather than the floor beside it!), taken laundry up and down stairs and put in the appropriate places, taken piles of shoes upstairs, cleaned the loos (reminded men in the house that there is a loo brush beside every loo and I shouldn’t have to do it daily coz it’s yucky and they are all big enough and ugly enough to to it themselves!), had about 5 coffees (which probably hasn’t helped). Now in midst of serious hot flush, but temp only 35.4, so definitely chemo related not an infection or anything horrible.

Sorry if this is a speed filled epilogue - it’s not me, it’s the drugs. So much to do - must dash - WHEN DOES THIS WEAR OFF??? lol - I prefer being a slob!
