I’ve had a text from Kate which she has asked me to post:
" Spoken to my registrar. She will push liver bods tomorrow first thing, problem is my bilirubin is low compared with other liver patients. Registar is pushing hard as my cancer grows faster and need chemo PDQ. Cant have chemo until bilirubin and liver function tests more normal. very scared - feel on dump pile by the liver team. Oncologists registar told me I’m not and they are pushing seriousness of my situation despite low bilirubin levels in liver disease terms."
Know we’re all thinking of Kate and wanting to get those medics moving.
Thanks Jane, I have been checking Kates blog page and there has not been an update since Thursday so was worried, thank you for letting us know, and if you hear back from her pass on all our love and best wishes.
Thanks for the update on Kate. I hope that they give her the answers she needs and the treatment she requires urgently so she can get back to some sort of normality and start to enjoy the holidays with her children.
Send her my love and tell her I am thinking about her.
I was wondering earlier how Kate was doing as she hasn’t posted on either site since last week. I’m so glad you’ve updated us. My thoughts are with her. I hope this awful situation with the liver people is sorted out asap. It must be dreadful for her to be kept hanging on like this.
Thanks for letting us know Jane and please pass on my love to Kate. Really hope the liver team sort the operation for her some time in the next day or so.
Thanks for the update Jane, thinking of Kate and am so hoping the medics can sort out this latest development for her ,sending love and gentle hugs to Kate…Doolallyxx
Well I’m hoping that no news is good news and Kate has had her liver operation. Thinking of you - hope everything is sorted in time for the school holidays.
I’e been away for a few days and have only just now spoken to Kate.
She had her operation yesterday under supposed sedation…but it didn’t work and the procedure was really really horrible and painful for Kate. But the stent is in without the need for an outside bag. Her care since the operation sounds dreadful. She’s in quite a lot of pain and has awful trapped wind.
I’ve passed on all your messages and I know it really helps Kate to know you are all here in cyber space.
Poor Kate. Thanks for the update, Jane. I have visited Kate at the hospice and at the general.Send her my regards. She really is going through it at the moment.
