Embarking on an adventure, you are welcome to tag along

Thanks for that Sandra … I ate the other naan before I read your post !! ( wee ,yuk !!)
Spot on Vickie , I think it must be a vampire , ah , but Sandra said they don´t like garlic ?
Well I definately think maria was right and that they ( whatever "they " are ) had a family party , two flippin great naans and loads of tomatoe sauce , plus the cheese they got out of the traps .
Definately calls for something else , perhaps excorsisum , ok so I can´t spell as well as useless on computers ,but you know what i mean .
I think it´s a garlic loving vampire rat ,
or the rat family´s early christmas party .

Evening Ladies,
I’m still here, reading, smiling but not posting much, just don’t feel that good and don’t want to sound gloomy. I’m a a bit low mood wise too at the moment and not my ususal bubbly self - guess this goes with the territory and happens to all of us at some point eh?
Second to last chemo tomorrow and really, reaally, dreading it as never got over the last one and ended up in hospital too! Hope my bloods are ok as I still don’t feel that well either…

Kris your post are funny, I always have these images going round my head reading them, I guess I must be as crazy as you!
Maria, Love the view from your house
Tina - I’m with you on X Factor and Jungle; sorry ladies, it’s not personal, just our choice. We tend to record things we want to then watch whenever we want; works great for us and we get to spend more time together too!

No snow here so far apart from a very, very thin sprinkling not worth calling snow but we shall see eh…

Hi to all you other wonderful, supportive ladies, apologies for lack of persoanl replies,
Love to all,
Nell xx

Hi everyone. I’ve never got into x factor or the jungle programmes either but love strictly and my daughter has managed to get two tickets for next Saturday so I will be going with her. If you see me I’ll be the one with very, very short hair with a good sprinkling of grey!
Pam

Pam, you’ll have such a good time, am jealous!
Tina, gonna have to de-friend you now you’ve admitted not liking the jungle programme(!!!) and x factor!

Bought new fleeces and thermal
boot socks today cos it is freezing! But my new snow boots from next are fantastic and I heartily recommend them. Only a sprinkling of snow so far here but v v v cold, was minus 6 when I went out Saturday night but did get above freezing for about 3 seconds this afternoon. However I have bought some mulled wine to warm me up!

Hi Ladies,
Well l am with Tina, Nell and Pam with regards to x factor and the jungle! not really a tele fan, love my laptop!

Nell, l found the second from last Tax a bit of a downer, neither the middle nor the end! just wanted it out of the way, and with you feeling so poorly, must be awful for you! l have been in a low mood this weekend, and today got an onc appointment, so it all comes flooding back! l absolutely love christmas, but this l think i will be glad to see it come and go! Hope the bloods are ok for you to go ahead. Our Kanga ‘paints’ a wicked picture doesn’t she!

Liz good luck with your lumpectomy on wednesday!

Another playgroud cry! two little boys playing near us, one said to the other “did your Mum die” “yes” said the other, “she died last week, lets play fighting” and they carried on as if nothing else mattered, me and another Mum looked at each other and tears welled up in both our eyes!

Then took youngest to playgroup, started chatting to his keyworker when she informed me her 13 year old son had just come out of hospital, “oh l said l am sorry, l hope he is ok now” yes not too bad she said, of course you know he is terminally ill dont you? could have knocked me over with a feather, then she proceeded to introduce me to him! Just wanted to kiss and cuddle him! but of course you can’t, l just said to her “and l thought l had problems!”

Love and Hugs to one and all
Sandra xxxx

Still waiting for snow, gc have sleighs out ready and waiting ;o)

Gosh Sandra, What a brave lady, I have tears in my eyes too typing this; hate the thought of children being ill let alone terminally ill Needless to say “yes” our problems seem ingsignificant compared to theirs.
As usual thing of you xx

Hello Everyone,

Sandra – we have snow, you can have some of ours. Our schools were closed and will be closed again tomorrow. My son is in the middle of his preliminary exams so was not pleased as it means he has to keep revising for longer! He still managed to go out sledging though! Your playground stories are incredibly sad. I have got my rads follow up appointment with the onc on 22nd Dec!!!

Vickie – you can have some of our snow too for your boys. My dogs only have little legs – the snow is too deep for them!

Denise – hope you are all right. Like Sandra says I also found my second to last peachy the hardest, I was floored and expected the last one to be even worse but it wasn’t. Hope it all goes ahead for you just so you can get it over and done with.

Kanga – have you managed to see your garlic loving vampire rat or whatever it is yet?

Sorry everyone but I have never watched X factor or the jungle thingy. So Tina with you and me, Sandra, Pam & Denise that’s at least 5 of us not watching these things. You are not alone.

Jill

joining the not watching jungle thingie but have to watch x factor with Mary but only every other weekend !! Even bought tickets for x factor tour next year for Mary for Xmas

been reading but not posting much as rather down. Last week started to get really bad stomach and back pain, bit like a really bad period but had my ovaries out so it can’t be. Then started bleeding down below so panicked. Been to hosp today and have to have a scan on 9th Dec. When will it ever end !!!

Sending huge hugs to all and sorry not to reply to all.

K x

and still can’t find Maria on facebook !!

K x

Oh god Karen! As usual thinking of you; bl**dy crap all this isn’t it! Next time I hear somebody down grade bc I think I’ll give them a slap and if it’s a celeb I’m gonna email them…
Can’t sleep - on steroids and still fell cr@p, but with you girl xx
Won’t make you feel any better but I’ve gotta have a liver scan at the end of my chemo and not even thinking about it cos I’m too scared too, so fingers crossed and whatever else I can for you xx

Ps thanks Jill, Sandra xx

Just popped in, Karen my thoughts are with you, what cr@p. I have asked to be your friend as my clues were not good enough for anyone to find me
Tina, I have asked to be your friend too.
Nell, I do hope you are asleep now, you are batting down hill, you know. I found the 2nd tax was not as bad as the first cos I was prepared for the tax truck and trailer.
I watch X factor, it is the highlight of my week, how sad is that? But don’t watch the celeb jungle thing.
The worst thing in the world is to loose a child, so Sandra, I was very touched by your lady. Your other story rang very true to me. Children are very resilient; when my Mum and I told my 3 year old niece that her Mum had died (of BC), she said Oh OK, can we have strawberries for tea. It was April, but inspite of our tears we managed to find her strawberries. She is now a very stroppy teenager, doing well at school and we love her.
Jill, hope you are not comletely snowed in
Pam, glad you have joined our merry gang. That must be you in front of the taj mahal. I went there over 30 years ago, it is quite amazing.
Vickie, what were you doing up at 2 am this morning ?
So I popped in quickly and I am still here, its always the way.
Hope everyone has a good day (as far as possible)
Hugs Maria

Hi Ladies, well wow its a cold one, it’s been snowing here on and off all morning, just looked out of the window and the snow flakes are getting bigger. I wont mind being stuck tomorrow, it means I can have a week off weight watchers, and I wont have to go to the dentist for a filling. You are all shaming me with finishing you christmas shopping, and writing christmas cards, I haven’t got mine yet. I have got the grandchildrens presents, has long has I have got them everyone else will have what they get, I will get it done next week I hope. It will be a strange christmas this year because I dont really know whats happening yet. We always go to Banbury christmas eve, stay over at hubbys parents then see hubbys children and grandchildren in the morning. Then we come home, go and see my son and grandchildren first, but I am not sure what is happening about that this year, then we go to my daughters for dinner. I can remember this time last year I really thought it was going to be my last christmas, but I am still here, I am glad I was wrong.
Sandra, hope you are ok and you mum is ok after Friday. That is so sad the story about the little boy, we dont have anything to moan about do we compared to some people.
Karen, love you picture you are gorgeous, I am so sorry about what is happening with you at the minute. I hope everything is sorted for you soon, you must be so fed up with just one thing after another.
Maria, love you picture, your snow looks better than ours lol I hate mouse, wouldn’t want to harm them but I am scared of them. Dont know why, I must look like a giant compared to them little things. Oh and I hate spiders, got in bed the other night, threw the quilt back and a great big spider ran across the bed Agggrrrr I screamed so much, and I moved quicker than I had done for years, hubby was kiling himself laughing.
Jackie, wow you lucky lady, hope your having a good time, never know the snow might be gone when you get back.
Jill, how I understand your problem about going to the party, I have only been in contact with close family and friends. I know I have my hair back, and I wear a prothesis but I have put on so much weight I just dont feel comfy getting dressed up. Mil has got a christmas party dance in the village in a couple of weeks but I am not sure if I want to go. You never know one day we might get our confidence back.
Liz, hope your mum is coping ok, well you wont be rushing round like me on christmas eve this year. I better get my bike batterys fully charged lol
Vickie, I am still with you with X factor, I want your future hubby Matt to win. I haven’t been watching the jungle much this year, I useually do but that Gillian woman I could smack her, I dont do smacking, cant remember ever slapping anyone but I could change the habits of a life time and slap her lol I did see this morning that she has gone out now so I might watch the last few days. I do watch Strictly, I want Matt to win that has well.
Nell, sorry your having a bad time at the minute, how many more have you got left to have? I hope the silver dream is packed up nice and warm ready for the nicer weather.
Carol, well done on packing up your Job, its about time you start a nice long retirement.
Kris, I am sure you are long lost relation, you do get into some scrapes lol you are a braver lady than me though going into your garage I would be sqealing lol
Tina, not sure if I have said Hi and wecome yet, but if I haven’t Hi, I am just seding you a little wave now lol
Gill, hope your ok and feeling better.
Isabelle, well I made you a friend on face book, and answered you message if it worked. Hope you are getting a bit more rest this week, and hope your not snowed in.
Pam Hi, think you have just come to join our merry band, we are a load of caring crazy people. It is so good to come on this thread when your feeling a bit down, you always come off feeling better.
Well ladies I think I have made a few of you friends on face book, well I think I have if I clicked the right thing lol I know I have Vickie because she comes up on my page. Must say Vickie I saw a pic of your 2 sons, they are gorgeous, so very cute and look like mischief is on there mind lol the look like to proper little boys.
Well ladies if I have forgot anyone sorry, but Hi,
All of you take care and keep warm,
Love Heather
xxxxxxxx

Hi Ladies,
Talk about “now you see me, now you don’t” who has pinched our snow? woke to a lovely covering this morning, gc so excited to get their sleighs out after school, by the time school had finished it was all gone! snowing very lightly now, but not settling.
Even had my rubber things with spikes on that fit to your shoes to stop you slipping over!

K, Well lets hope Mary still enjoys x factor next year! l am sure she will love it, are you going with her? bet you cant wait!
As for your ‘bleed’ what can l say bl**dy hell girl does it never end? l assume you still have your uterus, so fingers crossed for fibroids or Polyps, ha whoever would have wished for fibroids or polyps? Us!!

Nell and Jill, think l didn’t make myself clear on my second from last Tax, meant mine was Psychosomatic and no more troublesome than any other!
Yes please we would love some of your snow.
Ahh rubbish having an appointment on the 22nd! thought mine was bad enough on the 10th! just want to try and forget over christmas!!!

Maria, That must have been so very hard telling your little niece, good job that do take things so lightly! unlike us, but then again we have more understanding!!! Not good is it? I just love stroppy teenagers! my Mum use to say l was a real stroppy teenager, and she always hoped l would have girls and they would be as stroppy as l was, but instead l had two lovely caring boys!!

Vickie, you not sleeping? want another two boys for a few days?

Heather,Well l have finished two grandsons presents (youngest and oldest) just the two 3 year olds to finish! then the adults!!!
We are glad you are still here too Heather, what on earth would we do without you?
Hope oh is keeping ok!

Liz Good luck for tomorrow, fingers crossed for you

Jill, go to your party and enjoy, l am fed up of my life having changed so very much, and try and grab every bit of normality that l can when l can l know, not always possible! But you can always come away if you feel uncomfortable, who knows it may do you good, even if it for a few short hours!

Nell hope you and your bloods are good?

Love and hugs to all

Solved the “where is Maria” on FB puzzle, have accepted your request, Maria! Glad I am not the odd one out re Saturday night telly, but like Strictly and very jealous you are going there, Pam! We have a covering of snow but not enough to keep the boys home from school. What is it with the no sleeping mode, Vickie, I am awake between 3-4 and that’s it, can’t go back to sleep. Looking forward to our schools nativity plays next week, might need extra tissues, children singing carols always dissolves me. Sandra, what sad stories around you, it’s harsh to see how much families have to deal with. My friend who first had bc 10 years ago has just received her stage4 dx and really it’s another reminder how sneaky this disease is. Hope everyone is keeping warm and watching out for icy pavements, seen a few tumbles today! Hugs to all! X

Hi Ladies,
We have had a lot of snow in the last few days, it started gradually on Saturday, by today I had to dig out of the snow to get to the doctors, would rather have stayed at home as I went for cholesterol test and smear test, nice to get the latter over and done with! Always something!
I joined facebook the other day and now I have Sandra, Vickie, Heather and Sue as well as my friend in our village. I have still not quite got the hang of it but i’ll get there.
Nell, sorry that your feeling c–p, your getting closer to the end of your pm. Take it easy, thinking of you xxx
I hope everyone is as well as poss tonight.
Hugs and Best Wishes,

isabelle xxx

Been sledging today with my husband and boys. Loved it. So appreciated bring able to do it. This bc crap does tend to make you enjoy the simpler things doesn’t it. Going to attempt a full nights sleep uonight. Have gone the big glass of baileys route in effort to achieve it! Lots of love to everyone as always

RUBBER THINGS WITH SPIKES ON

Hi Sandra - having dx osteoporosis this year (& the BC ) am overly worried about falling down on ice . is it kind of snow chains for shoes you have ? looked into these last winter but couldnt decide which are best . do you know what yours were called and where to get please ? and if really good ? Many thanks , sorry to bother you when you have so much on and such sad times. Kirsty

Hi Kirsty,
The ones l have came from QVC but l would not recommend them, they are fine for what l want, but if l were you l would get something a bit more robust. Lots on the internet! Amazon do quite a few, just make sure they look easy to put on and they have enough spikes on the soles for what you want, best to get something with lots of small spikes on, rather than a few ‘long’ spikes.
Dont’ need any broken bones!
Keep safe everyone, Nell l hope that bike is tucked away for winter!
Love
Sandra xxx
PS. Where are you snow? want to make a snowman!

Sandra, you can have our snow, I have had enough of it. Our council gave out an update yesterday to say that the schools here would be closed again as they were expecting up to 20cm of snow overnight and I thought no way will we have that much – got up this morning and yes we had!!!, and it keeps snowing. Our schools are now closed for the rest of the week.

My dog disappeared this morning when he went out the back door it was so deep!

Walked to Sainsbury’s this morning – there are no cars there, people are taking sledges to carry their shopping home on!

Am getting lots of exercise keeping clearing a path from the house! Am also very pleased that I am still of work so I haven’t got the hassle of attempting to get in.

I’m sure the snow is on its way to you!

Jill

Hello, ladies. you without snow can have some of ours. so glad I have a 4x4, had no problem getting off our estate (lots of hilly bits)this morning at 7.30 to go for RADS. I am wearing my walking boots to go out, don’t want to come a cropper. I had a bad fall on ice last winter-if I had osteoporosis then why didn’t I break my hip? find it hard to believe I have developed it in less than 12 mmomths.
i can’t stand the jungle thingy but watch X factoe sort of-it’s too noisy for me when the audience won’t shut the heck up. love strictly, I would love to learn to dance like that.
well, we should have had skye installed today but elf & safety wouldn’t let him climb on the roof in the snow-can’t think why! Santa manages it!
Love to everyone, especially those who are having a difficult time of it at the moment

Carol
