Good week=end planned going too see friends and staying over. Should have gone to a party there the week of my op so we are having a party of our own instead. Boss came for lunch to-day and to see how I’m doing.Back online now if anyone has anything to say
Hi Ladies,
Well l thought the world had ended this morning, got up feeling ok, made myself a cup of green tea and reached for the dry biscuits, and the room spun, rush to find my special ‘sick’ bowl (knew l wouldn’t make the stairs) and that was it 4 and a half hours later l pulled myself off the sofa feeling very Sorry for myself.
My phone and text messages seemed to be ringing in my head, why do people phone when l am ill? (probably because they didn’t know!)
Even the lady phoned about my new ‘boob’ wants to give me an earlier appointment which my dear bcn arranged for me! must phone her back to confirm!
Feeling ‘ok’ now, but l really don’t think it was down to the chemo, trouble is you start putting everything down to that now it has started! This is the first time l have been sick since chemo, only had a bit of sickness for the first 3 days, so 7 days later l didn’t expect it. I did wake with a bit of a headache this morning, so who knows, probably that! funny thing now l think about it, it was almost like a ‘little’ migraine! if there is such a thing!
Suze, def. noticing a bit more hair on the brush!! Gosh you did have a busy day, don’t forget to feed the goldfish, like you forgot your car MOT (see Vickie, not all you, you realise you wont live this down!)xxx
Carol, Tina Turner!! you wish! oh perhaps not! you are far better looking! I keep trying my wig on and thinking shall l have a bit more cut off, trouble is if you go too short, it aint gonna grow!!
Enjoy your allotment, looking a bit dull here, probably rain soon, must remember the washing is out! xxx
Heather, Well like me you seem to have the perfect man! well most of the time, other than when he slops his coffee on my carpet, and blames me for looking at him, (make him nervous!) trouble is as soon as l see him with a coffee l just know he is going to spill it, he fills it right up to the top, spills it before he gets off the kitchen work surface!
We all know that pain, always cancer isn’t it! cant possibly be the stress and strain our body is going through! but we wouldn’t be ‘normal’ if we didn’t worry, so be easy on yourself!
I am like you Heather, start talking to strangers on the phone and end up knowing about their family and they knowing about mine, l put it down to the fact l am sooooooooooo very proud of them all!
My niece phoned yesterday, telling me how special l am and how much she and her sister loved me! l could cry for England (probably will after tonight!)
Like you Heather, l was at the birth of my first grandson, my daughter in law said she wanted me and my son there, it was so very special! Crying again!! xxx
Mum51 We know our children have to leave home, and we are happy that they do so, because it means they are looking to their future, but oh we miss them so much, so know just what you mean.
Not sure if l have missed your op, did you have a lump or a mx? and what about your results, are you having chemo or radio? oh sound so nosey, don’t mean to be, just if we know, we know what you are going through and will give you the support you deserve. probably not started any treatment yet!
Wow love the hair, you know you are going to have to put the photo’s up for us to vote on!!
Oh ok, brain just clicked in here, you have wigs, Mmmmmmmmm ok chemo! sorry a bit slow! xxx
Kris, How many times had l typed something and whoosh…oh so annoying. when l do that on an email, it usually goes to draft, so perhaps you ladies in the background can give us a draft!!
Life is frustrating enough without trying to remember what we typed the first time!
Next year l am going to win the lottery and take all you ladies on a well deserved holiday!
I used to go to Pilates, and loved it, but the girl that took us retired, still trying to find another class.
Feel really hungry now, not sure my stomach can take too much, fancy egg. bacon mushroom and toms. my stomach may disagree with me, probably have toast!!
To all those little and big cancer cells, we are out to get you all!!
So DISAPPEAR!
Sandra xxx
Hi everyone,
You certainly post a lot at night, does any one ever sleep !?
Vickie, it’s good to talk, tell and then no one is left guessing. My husband was a climber and one summer went climbing with friends. It was my birthday and he was not there, My older son was only 1 and so no-one knew it was my birthday. But I didn’t tell anyone either. I spent a very sad birthday and vowed never again. Now always tell people things.
Isabelle and Sandra, OH sleeping with remote controls. Something needs to be done
Carol, so sorry to hear about your wobble, not fair, we have enough to put up with anyway. I get blood tested mid cycle as well as 2 days before chemo due.
Suze, maybe its time to shave that head
Heather, at last we have the “old” Heather back with more “fun stories”
Mum51, looking forward to seeing thoses new photos
Kris, your instructor sounds realy fit, inhaler here we come !
Sandra, sorry to hear about your blip. If OH gets it you will know its not no due to Peachy Mother, she is just doing her job.
I had another quiet day today pottering about and got all sorts of little things done. I keep going into my new kitchen and getting soooooo exited. Shame I have to wait another week to use it. I did put a fews things in one cupboard.
I do hope eveyone is OK
Hugs from Maria
Qestion for Mum51!
Is that a photo of you! behind the photo of you? l am talking of the ‘foxy’ one!
Sandra xxx
Good evening, ladies
My hairdresser trimmed my barnet today and put come spray conditioner on it, looks a bit less Tina Turner now! She adviced me to wash it in a couple of days with a bit of fabric conditioner, she recons it wouldn’t do any harm to use some styling stuff on it.
Was a bit naffed off when I got to my allotment this afternoon, as the resident geese including a family of 8 had bitten the tops off some of my newly planted sweetcorn. I have now made them geese proof and I am not taking any more bread to feed them-they can hiss at me, I don’t care.
Mum54-I am also intreagued about that picture in your photo!!
Sandra-hope you have recovered now, perhaps it was eating so many strawberries-don’t think you are supposed to eat the whole punnet at once!
Off to meet my two offspring tomorrow morning to go fish hunting. They are buying their Dad some new fish for Fathers day for our pond as we are now down to 2 blue orfe & 2 golden orfe and they are about 20 years old.
Planning a Fathers day BBQ for Sunday so it’s obviously going to rain!
have a good weekend, everyone
Carol xx
Hi Carol,
Are you sure she said wash your wig in fabric conditioner! you mean what we wash our clothes in? surely not! have you ever looked inside your ‘plumbing’ well not yours! but your washing machine, it gets really blocked up.
Mine told me l should only use the spray or shampoo specially made for wigs, she did say you can use Elnett hairspray, but only because it brushes out! Gosh you will be smelling like your clothes! talk about from top to toe!
Yes what do you think about our Mum51 Carol, notice how she is standing to one side so we can see the photo!! cheeky Mum51
Surprised they have geese on your allotment, obviously prefer your sweetcorn to your bread! yes l was a bit of a piggy with the strawberries, but you know what it is like, every time l opened the fridge…then they were gone!
Happy fish hunting, if no joy my husband has a fishmonger shop, the fish are a bit still, but throw them in the pond quick he may never notice!!
Maria, It is only you oldies that go to bed early! Now how sad a story was that, having a birthday by yourself. I have a friend in Australia, and just had an email from her, l had been telling her all about you ladies, and she emailed back to say how lucky we are as when she went through bc 16 years ago she had no one, and her friends left her alone to get on with it! and to this day she still feels very lonely, and find it hard to make friends, because she had been so let down! How sad is that! sent her lots of hugs. Ok Maria, when is your birthday so we can all send your lots of birthday wishes? xxx
Might be an early night tonight, this old girl is still feeling a tad yuk
Sleep tight ladies

Ok lets get this photo business out of the way. The photo in the background, which I didn’t realise you could see’is Kelly Brook not me,unfortuately. Reason being the computer is in my son’s room and I took the photo of me on my phone even though he’s not been living here for four years I’ve not taken his posters etc. down.
Sandra the photo is my own hair which was shoulder length but I had cut last week so less to loose when chemo kicks in next month.
I had a wle on 17th May margins and lymph nodes clear but cancer was very aggresive so having to have chemo for six months followed by radio. Delay to give time to heal and also oncology behind due to annual leave, hols etc.
Is anyone familiar with “The Secret” about positive thinking etc.
I go to a natural healer for reikh and she has loaned me her cd.'s finding them helpful. She has been a friend for many years and is giving me the gift of reikh every two weeks until all this is over.
Hello Ladies,
Sandra, sorry you are feeling so ill today,I hope you are feeling a bit better tommorow.
Mum51, I’m glad someone brought up the comment about your photo behind you, I was dying to ask about it but I’m glad someone else was cheeky enough to ask before me, looks like some lady!!! You are going to look great with 2 new wigs, your partner will not know which lady to take out the redhead or the brunet! Hope all goes well for you next week.
Heather, It looks like you’ve got a great husband there, you’ve trained him well, any tips? Mine is good at making me cups of coffee
but he is more likley to be out rounding up sheep and cattle on the quad bike!
Vickie, hope you are feeling better today, how are your little boys behaving today, they are georgeous anyway aren’t they? I’ve just been to babysit my grandsons for a few hours, they brighten up my life.
I hope everyone has a good weekend,
Best Wishes

Hi Ladies,
Now we might have to have a vote on this Mum51, so, how many of us would take a photo of ourselves in our sons bedroom that has not been used for 4 years with a naked lady straddled across a man?
Mmmmm.ok we believe you, only because it is such an unbelievable story. been wanting to ask since the photo first appeared! tonight was the night!

I´m going to type out what I have on my fridge . It always makes me laugh , so i hope to at least raise a smile from all of you . If this disappears half way through , you will all hear me roar !

Right I have changed the photo I’ll wait until I get the wigs and then change it again.
By the ways someone has an overactive imagination Kelly Brook is leaning against a set of drawers not straddling a man! No you are right I’m never going to live this down should have just said it was me but always too honest that’s my trouble. By the way my name’s Lesley just used mum51 as my logon name.
Can’t wait to tell my son this story he’ll think it’s highly amusing!
Keeps telling me it’s time I took the posters down
Boo! to you Lesley, you are a killjoy, can l please have her straddled over a man, and thinking it is you?
Hugs
Sandra xxx
What else are they putting in your chemo Sandra ? !
Whatever it is , I´m jealous , I want some !
Don´t mind her Lesley , everyone on this site flips occassionaly , actually it´s pretty essential to keep sane believe it or not !
Kris
Hi Kris,
My peachy mother was FEC, the same as everyone else, BUT my ‘E’ was
Ecstasy!!

Hello Ladies,
Love your Words for Women to Live By Kris, I had tears of laughter reading it, and we all need more of the laughter.
Sandra , behave yourself or Lesley will be put off us before she gets to know we are all a bit nutty on here, better than being miserable I supose!!!
Lesley, fancy changing your photo, most fun we’ve had for a while, easy pleased eh!!!
Hope, we haven’t heard from you for a while, where are you?
Vickie, how are you doing today, feeling a bit better I hope?
Heather, loved your story they always make me laugh, you could probably write a good book about your experiences.
I’m having a really lazy day at home today as I’ve been out and about every day this week, makes a change to stay at home. Its a thirty two mile round trip to go to the shops from where I live so its like a day trip every time you go shopping. Being lazy, got Asda to deliver yesterday.
I hope everyone is having a good day,
Isabelle xxx
hi everyone,
my god it has taken me ages to catch up on the thread! And i spent ages staring at your photo mum 51, trying to see what everyone was talking about, only to find at the end of the posts that you had since changed your photo!
Thanks for your encouragement everyone. I have had a busy few days as i feel physically and emotionally quite a bit better. Yesterday my sister and i went to next and i bought 8 te COLOURED CUSHIONS, NEW CURTAINS, NEW BLIND, TEAL RUG, TEAL LAMP, 2 CANDLES ( soory caps oops), teal ornamanents and then a couple of willow boxes in teal, just in case i dd not have enough teal. These are all for a makeover in my lounge, as i am sick of seeing the same tired stuff and i have been having to spend a lot of time sitting in my lounge lately. I also bought an organza long sleeved white shirt to cover up in the sun, and a few long sleeved tops as seeing my bruises from the needles actually makes me heave! Plus i bought hareem trouseres and pedal pusher type pants. The bonus side of the crap i am going through is that these clothes fit me very well and i look skinny. One of the down sides is that my wig came off with every outfit change when trying on!
Was totally totally wiped out after the trip, but was worth it. My teal lounge is lovely. Curtains need taking up but sending them to local shop to do, can’t be bothered faffing with them at the moment. The blind didn’t fit so i took it back today and swapped it for a vase. Teal. Its the only colour to have you know.
Also took the boys to pet city to buy a fish tank. They went to the local fair with mysister last weekend and came back with a goldfish. Such an aunty thing to allow! My sister has no children …Spent 55 quid on tanks ornaments plants filters etcfor this tiny little free fish! The boys love it though, is called nemo, but the tank seems very noisy, making me want to wee listening to it.
They have been good boys today so got their saturday night treat which was a curly wurly each and watching hole in the wall ( v juvenile tv show).
Sandra, did you phone your chemo helpline when you were throwing up? Its between days 7 and 14 that your wbc count falls after fec, so perhaps you should check it out? is your temp ok?
They only do the bloods the day before because your cell counts can change quite a bit. My wbc count was 0.8 on day 10 after first cycle but were 2.8 the day before cycle 2 so i was allowed to have chemo as were fine. I am suprised they are not giving you the jabs though, are you under tameside health authroity? You have your chemo etc under christie’s care don’'t you, like me and suze, but maybe its who your health authority is that makes the difference? i know the christie conulatant who does the sattelite clinic at macclesfield is allowed to prescibe emend for sickness, whereas my christie consultant struggled to give it me beacuse pennine trust don’t give it. I would be vociferous about it if i were you!
Hope everyone else is doing fine. Suze, is it your fec 2 this thursdy or next thursday? I got yuour pm with your details on, ta. Ps, how late do you stay up! My boys have me up at 6 so i am well in bed whilst you lot are still writing.
take care evryone
Vickie
Went back to look at Lesley’s background poster and found she had changed it spoilsport Lesley. I did read somewhere that chemo can affect eyesight can I claim that as an excuse? Love the Words for women to live by Kris lol.Now I had not thought of weighting dead fish with lead, can’t think why.Had a lovely day at Kew it was just what I needed. My friends little 4 yr old was on for coming in and helping water my garden. In the event she was spark out in her seat when we drew up at my house so straight home to bed for her. Had a dreadful night very tearful hope I can have surgery for the margins on Thurs and that the cellulitis has cleared ( 12days a-b should do something just hope it doesn’t give me thrush, yes I know too much info)was cxll from last Weds then I would be at the dreaded waiting for results stage by now. This is soooo dragging on.Hope everyone is relatively s/e free or copable and enjoying the week-end. Jackie
Vicky-I am having chemo at Tameside under Christies so I don’t know who makes the decision re the injections, I assume it’s the Onc from Christies.
Went with the kids today to buy some fish to replenish ones that have died of old age or been taken by the heron. This was to be aFarthers day pressie but decided that it be best if they went into the pond sooner rather than later, so we put them in this afternoon. Thought all was going well until OH came in and said we have a problem, the 20 year old orfe are chasing the tiddlers. Well the pond is so murky that we can’t see the new ones so we have had to leave them and hope they fing a hiding place. I feel really guilty now.
So, teal is your "accent " colour then? Our lounge carpet is teal. Very restful colour.
