Jen, nice to hear from you. Sharon told me that you sat side by side in the unit, nice to have someone to chat to and pass the time more pleasantly. Are you having herceptin there? I always get confused as to when you are in Southend and when in Chelmsford. I have finished my treatment now but my rads burn is really annoying at the moment and very dark. hope you are keeping well
Flora - the pics were great, although I still can’t get used to the extra weight I have and short hair. Still mustn’t forget how it was when i had very little and be grateful for it.
Hope to catch up with everyone before too long.

Lily Glad you liked the pics. I’m ok thanks just had to go full time so that I could use up my leave before end of March but in effect will have to do slightly less hours - goodee.
Sorry you have had such a rough time with rads but at least now finished and hopefully healing better now. Are you meeting up at lunchtime soon? When are you due back at work? With your rad burns it may need to be delayed perhaps?

I have a 9 month surgical check up tomorrow so trying to avoid thinking too much about that. You know how it is

Flora thanks for the photos - I will look back at these with fond memories.
I can meet up tomorrow nite all being well so will log on tomorrow to see if it is happening. I have had a slight temp for the last few days and feel so tired so the body must be fighting something. If it is still up later will phone the unit.

yes we are meeting tomorrow, Tuesday between 6.45 and 7pm in the Fox & Raven, Chelmer Village. I have spoken to Bev, Sharon and Tracey and they are all ok to come then. Glad you are free to come too Flora.
Anyone else is welcome to gatecrash if they fancy saying hi. Just post so we can arrange how to recognise us!!! Not hard, half are in glamorous wigs and the rest of us have short back and sides.

poor Sharon2 has been hijacked and held hostage by Broomfield hospital until Monday. She looked well but has a temperature still so being kept in. Sharon if you read this, I will have a ladder and getaway car waiting outside at midnight. Don’t forget to put your PJs on.

Lily, Flora and Bev, thank you for a lovely evening on Tuesday, although it wasn’t the same without Sharon. Think I need to avoid eating too late in the evening now, as I had chronic indigestion for 24hrs after! Mind you, I’ve now convinced myself that mini eggs kill cancer cells and I think I’m addicted to them, will serve me right if I’m up in the night this time!
Jennie, it was lovely to meet you at the unit, hope all is going well with the Hercepin. It would be lovely to see you again, but preferably in a nicer place!
Gingery, you would be more than welcome to join us.

Glad you are back on line Tracey. Yes it was a good evening but perhaps we all need to eat less!!. Your indigestion will probably improve when you finish chemo. Good luck for Friday. Went to see Sharon this pm. The IV still needs to really kick in so she may not be out on Monday but she was still in pretty good spirits.
I also love the mini eggs. It is mean that they start selling them already when Easter is so far off. if you are going to the support group will see you on Wednesday.

sorry to hear Sharon is still having problems. I hope to see her tomorrow. We must all have a catch up with Sharon meal out when she is released from that place!! Poor old thing sees enough of the place normally.
I enjoyed the meal and meeting you all again very much but also ate too much and was a bit yuk that night. I am holding out against easter eggs as long as possible as I will just keep eating them once I start!
Tracey, tell O he’s a genius and perhaps he could set up a business with computers!!

hope you are ok Tracey. I wasn’t able to visit Sharon as my son has terrible tonsilitis and his temperature was 39 at the doctors. I didn’t want to take any chances with her just in case I came down with it after visiting!

Hi Flora & Lily - I have tried to PM you both but have now given up trying as I can’t do it and am in danger of punching the PC.
I go into Broomfield tomorrow for the dye to be injected, then in on Thrusday to have the ‘beastie’ cut out. I just can’t wait to get in there and get part one of this nightmare over with.
Please wish the other Sharon a speedy recovery.
I think I am on ward B17, fingers crossed I will be in and out the same day.

The support group meetings are at Rochelle House which is next door to Springfield Hospital and are on the third Wed of the month so you might make it to the next one. We will post here when we have another evening or lunch out and maybe you can join us then.
