Poor Sharon didn’t escape today but hopefully will tomorrow, otherwise we will have to get a ladder and assist her. I have warned her that if she does not take it easy when she gets home we will be on to her!!
I might go to the meeting tomorrow, last time I intended to but fell asleep for the whole evening!
Sharon (Daisy) good luck for your op on Friday, I’m sure it will all go well. I had mine at 9am and was home eating tea at 6pm - it really wasn’t too bad at all. Hope you can meet up with us somewhere along the line.
Sharon’s chemo has been delayed until 4th Feb, so I will be having my last without my chemo buddy, boo hoo!! hopefully we will catch up on the Rads part.
Lily, sorry to hear your Son is not well, mine has come home sneezing his head off today, I’m trying to keep well away as don’t want to delay Friday. Hope the interview went well yesterday, and did you watch to see if he noticed you were commando!!
Hi everyone,
I have been chatting to Sharon on the phone every day and hear it is looking good for her to escape tomorrow. I have lost track of how many vein digging attempts she has had and they still keep going for more. Yuk. She was in good spirits when I spoke to her and had promised to take it easy from now on !!! If not we will all have to rush her and celotape her to the sofa.
I am hoping to come to the meeting tomorrow evening, if I remember. Tracey hope you will be awake! LOl. What a pair! I will send Bev a message too and hope she can come.
Daisy lots and lots of luck for your op and the results from it. I just had the radioactive injection on the day before, which was tiny and then the blue dye was put in the next day while I was out for the count. The day before was really much less than I imagined, very quick and as usual the worst bit was waiting to go in. I was there with 3 other ladies all with Bc and we met the next day too and on the ward, so it was nice to see a familiar face. One lady I still see at every appointment now.I was told right from the start that I was in overnight, despite being the first one into theatre. They told me I just won’t wake up enough! Any excuse to stay in bed! Thinking of you and pack some warm stuff the blankets are paper thin.
hope to see everyone else tomorrow

Sharon, I am so glad you are home are on the mend. Don’t worry the time will fly by and before you know it you last chemo will be done too!
I don’t know what I would of done without you this week, you are a true friend indeed, thank you for all your care and support xxx Angela calling in with the lovely cakes really cheered me up, I haven;'t got her number but please tell her it meant a lot to me.
Evening - am home and doing ok. Checked in at 7.30am, the Prof was gowned up and ready for me! Had the pre-op questions and was in theatre by 8.10! Got to be a record. Home by 4.00pm.
I have been cut, glued and stitched (inside) virtually all the way around my nipple (no cuts at all in my actual skin) and have a 1.5" cut vertically in my armpit. Minimal ‘smurfing’ and am doing just fine.
I have no pain in my breast, but underarm is tight and sore, but hey, who cares! Have physio at Broomfield Monday at 10.00, but have been a good girl and did my exercises today without too much discomfort.
Just resting and being pampered by hubby and kids…I could get use to this! Glad to hear the other Sharon is out, that is good news.
Well done Daisy, brilliant you were home so soon, much like me!
Which Prof. did you have if it was S, thats who did me, I think he’s lovely!
I did have to go back to have a bit more taken and that time I was 9am home at 1pm - the nurses named me Op and Go, ha,ha.
Well done doing the exercises, the glue is funny stuff, as mine started to heal I used to pull strips of it off.
I had my last chemo today and feel a bit drunk, but nothing to horrendous at the moment.
Stay in touch,
Love Traceyxx
Hi,
wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Tracey you did it, congratulations. Now just a ‘little matter’ of getting over this one!! Bet the kids are excited. Get well soon so we can meet up soon. I am back to work next week. It was all arranged and I got an appointment for the first morning back! It is the within 6 weeks of finishing rads one. Also got my surgeon to see and another appointment came today! All this attention is too much! The last one is in April for my annoual mammo, the scary one.
Flora how did you get on, hope it was not an oooooooow, if you agreed to having one that is. Nice to see you on Wed and also Angela. Sorry I did not chat more but the time just went before I realised.
Sharon, glue your backside to the sofa or we WILL find out and tell you off. It must be hard today thinking what should have been but the main thing is you are back on track now and will soon be following on.
Daisy smurf, well done, amazing and I hope things continue to go as well for you. keep exercising, more often but gentl brings about the best results. Hope to meet you before too long.

I too have the lovely Prof S, what a nice bloke. Back to see him on the 5th and I assume, I meet Prof D the Oncologist then to find out what zapping and juice I have coming my way.
Any idea what to expect at the physio session on Monday? How long am I likely to be there for? What I am saving on my mortgage is going in to Broomfields car parking kitty!
Hope you all have a restful and enjoyable weekend. I intend to relax, drink and be merry! Pity raising a glass isn’t on the ‘exercises to do’ sheet. I would be on the advanced page by now!
Hi
Daisy you may be pleased to know that there is free parking for anyone on chemo, very small consolation for having to go through with it! They give you a leaflet to put in the car and there are spaces behind the unit. Sorry I can’t remember if you know if you are having it or not yet. I presume your visit to the prof D will be to hear what his master plan is. People either love him or moan about hime but he is brilliant at what he does and has made our area have one of the highest success rates, so hitch your wagon to that pony!! Never had physio, so can’t help sorry.
wishing you lots of luck as you recover from your surgery
Lilyx
Cheers for the info Lily regarding the parking. Makes a change to get a freebie. I know this is probably a silly question, but what do you acutally ‘do’ whilst having chemo? Read, sleep etc? Can you go and have a pee without too much hassle?
Tracey ‘op & go’ love it! Any idea when I can have a bath? I am or at least appear to be healed shut on my breast, not too sure with the underarm. The glue is so annoying as I am stuck in places with no cuts. Looks like it has run along my underarm. It’s a bit like picking off sunburnt skin isn’t it! Or the white glue we had in pots at school that i use to smother my hands in and spend ages happily stripping it off rather than paying attention!
I promise when we do eventually meet, I am a fairly sane and normal member of society! Honest…
Hi Daisy,
if you gently rub the glue when in the shower it comes off but don’t do much at a time or it can get red and sore easily. Some bits took weeks for me to get off but they said it had healed to a tiny thin line because I had got the glue out. The other scar is not as impressive as expanded when they pulled the drain out.
You will get a visit to the chemo unit if you are having it. It is a separate building with a large room where everyone sits round the edge in chairs which recline if you wish. I think it looks like a room in an old people’s home myself! Everyone has a comfy chair next to them for a guest too and a table with lots of magazines and a jar of sweets to help yourself to. You can do whatever you like within reason, some sleep, some read, many just look around and watch all the activity of the nurses giving treatment. Everyone is attached to a drip for the saline to go in first but you can still go to the loo, you just have to ask a nurse to unplug you from the socket. Certain seats have the cold cap helmets in 3 different sizes. A trolley comes round with snacks, etc but only once so if you miss it you send your guest to the canteen or shop. There is a kitchen to make drinks whenever you want and sometimes you get it made for you or someone has sent nice cakes for all the patients. The air con unit can be very cool in certain seats or at other times hot so you need layers. You also, best of all, get free reflexology if you wish.
Hope that helps and do you really think the rest of us are sensible!!!
Hope that helps and take care

Ooo er… this all feels a bit strange, could’t fnd this thread at first. Anyway, just to say hi and I will check into this thread still, but don’t know if I will use the site as much now. A bit too much for my befuddled brain I think!!
Hope you are all okay, stay in touch and speak soon
Love Txxx
Same here, fancy changing it so radically. I am having trouble even naming the day of the week, let alone sussing a totally different style website.
Update on my surgery - breast has healed wonderfully, no pain at all. The underarm is a different matter. Bleedin’ sore with lumps of glue and sticky bits clearly not helping. I am not a patient, patient!
Hope you are all well and thanks a million for all the advice.
HI everyone its sharon2 here!!! Fully or think fully recovered from my interment in Broomfield!! Thank you evryone for your kind thoughts and well wishes and visits - it meant a lot to me seeing as my 7 year old would not visit me and my OH does not do hospitals.
welcome Sharon I am glad to hear your surgery went well and that you are also on the road to recovery.
I have my last chemo on the 4th - yes and planning for rads on 3rd.
Tracey - you have been a source of support to me as well so don’t mention will phone you later.
Lily - good luck for your appointment and return to work tomorrow.
Hi,
thanks Sharon, back to work and the prof on the same day!!! I’ll never get to sleep tonight at this rate. Only just worked out that I might need to find my pencil case etc.LOL. So panic rushing around tonight. You were so patient in hospital, i would have been so fed up, but you are back and heading for the home run. Wow, told you time would suddenly fly by. Fab that you and Tracey can do the fry up at Colchester together!!! I am saving my space age dressings (unused) in case either of you goes up in smoke.LOL. Just joking. Keep taking it easy for a while so neuts climb up. Tracey hope you are starting to see off number 6 and congratulations again. Hope to meet up once you are both well enough.
Daisy, glad onebit is healing but do get the under arm checked if it looks inflammedin case you have an infection. That bit always seems to take longer as it gets moved more as you do things. Hope it improves soon and keep doing the exercises often but gently
I am struggling with all this new stuff!

Morning ladies…I spoke to the breast nurse today and all is well with the underarm. It’s not swollen or red, just bloody sore! My neighbour is a nurse and she said it looks fine…phew!
Will post again Monday after seeing Proff S for the results.
Hi all you Essex girls ( thanks for the directions Moonshine),
I’m a new one to the crew ( not that exclusive a club by the looks of it!!) Anyway have started to read the threads…sounds like you are a brave bunch. I’m having a bit a struggle …I’ve had my first chemo which took me 10 days to get over its the pits… dreading next Friday for the next one.
Anyway was going to go to to Yoga whilst Ive got the energy but decided on a nice bit of fruit cake instead!! Have really got the munchies…ate like pig last week even though felt poo ( so much for maybe losing a bit of flab…no chance).
Would love to join the thread and chip in where I can…
