Hi everyone,
oh Sharon, I can hardly believe it, poor you. Bet your hubby was thinking oh no not that place again! I know how much you say he hates it. Does it affect starting rads at all? I am not sure at all. Anyway don’t you budge from bed and eat lots of meat, eggs, vit C and everything else good that might help. Please let me know how you get on, if you are not kept in my the snow. That rotten old last tax had a sting in its tail. Imagine how bad if you had the last one on time, as you wanted!! Thinking of you and one of us can come and get you on Mon if it helps. Will ring x. Tracey can you make it on Monday?
Flora glad you can manage it, hope it will be an extremely long working lunch.LOL.
Bev hoping to join us later. Anyone else want to come along welcome.
Daisy are you back online yet, hope ok.

Yoo-hoo ladies! I am back. My stay in Broomfield was short and sweet. I stuck it for one night and demanded I go home. No room on B28 so I was on B17 again. Loud visitors and moany patients and to top it all…wait for it…an ex student opposite me! Not even a nice one. As soon as I saw Prof S and the breast nurse I was out of there!
Drain came out on day 5, what a pain that was and very uncomfy. So I am now at home sitting on my botty being waited on by the family.
Back to the clinic 23rd (no clinic on 16th) to find out results and be told my treatment info. I am doing really well and healing nicely, but sore.
I would love to meet with you on Monday but I am not driving yet and hubby has gone back to work, so I will miss this one and hopefully have munchies with you next time. Hope you are all doing squiffy.

Hi Daisy would you like to be collected?? As long as you don’t live too far away!.
went to hospital today for repeat blood test and neuts jumped from 0.2 to 6.7 feel relieved and tonite felt hot and temp 37.9 so paracetamol quickly taken as I do not want it any higher.
Glad you are recovering well Daisy
Love sharon xx
Hi,
Daisy I will come and get you if you feel up to it, will be quite a long afternoon knowing us once we start on desserts! I have been past your house non-stop as my brother in law, who lives along from you, broke his wrist badly on the ice and was on B17 that same Thursday! So it must have been j I saw there.I should have just shouted his name. They made BIL wait 36 hours for the op to put wires in and discharged him at 10.30 pm on Saturday night. He said the ward was awful too and some of the night nurses had very poor English to understand medical notes. He has been staying with us and just went home again. Fingers crossed for some better news on the latest surgery. Can you post if you fancy meeting us, if too soon will ask again when you are on the mend.
Sharon so glad your neuts got you out of bother so quickly. Very impressive. Glad we are managing to meet up. Anyone else fancy coming to say hi?
Lily x
PLEASE PICK ME UP…I am going stir crazy in the house. Just name the time and I will be on the doorstep!
Your poor BIL. It was very busy in there that day, they had 200 broken bones that needed surgery thanks to the snow/ice. The nurses I had were great, a mad mother & daughter and a nice chap called Gary. I really couldn’t fault them. Mind you, I was on the other side of B17 to your brother, there was only 5 of us on the ward.
I am going out today for lunch, it will be my first venture outside for ages to somewhere other than a NHS building! I am so excited.
Many thanks for the offer of a lift, I really appreciate it. See you Monday. By the way, Carol and Sue S send their love.

Hi,
I am picking Daisy up and will see you all at the Fox and Raven from 12.30
Lily x
Lovely to meet you all, I had a great time. Hope to see you again soon. Daisy xxx
ps. Thanks for the lift!
Hi,
as usual had a fab lunch with you all. Daisy I think you are getting on amazingly well, for being so soon out of surgery. No problem any time we meet I will pop up and get you.
Sharon 2 hope it did not tire you too much coming out and take care. Tracey and Flora give me a shout if you are likely to go to the meeting but unlikely I will go as my daughter is coming to dinner that day.
Lily x x
Hi all,
yes it was lovely to see you all and have lunch, I am still full up from those elephant doofers!! Daisy, lovely to meet you, hope to see you again, stay in touch.
First rads done, only 19 to go! I will be having Zoladex, probably first one tomorrow (ouch!) then in a few months I will have Femara aswell. Flora, you are the only one I know taking this so I will probably pick your brains about it. If there’s anything nasty - please lie to me ha, ha.
Don’t know if I will go to the support meeting tomorrow, never can tell with me as I fall asleep most evenings after dinner, sad but true.
Hope you are all okay and look forward to seeing you again,
Tracey xx
Glad the rads went well. How did Sharon get on with her zapping?
I thoroughly enjoyed lunch, and am looking forward to the next one, chemo permitting.
My intergrated fridge freezer is on the blink (fridge bit) and the part is not available despite it being a common fault! So we have to buy a new one. The insurers will pay 40% towards it, but that still leaves us at least £400 out of pocket! It’s only 4 yrs old. Now the washing machine is making odd noises! Thats also under extended warantee, so will be on the phone to them later too! I wish MFI was open still, I would be down there protesting at the quality of their appliances!!!
So I intend to spend today screaming abuse at people on the other end of the phone. Don’t they know I am poorly! Ha ha
Take care and good luck with the jab.
Daisy xxxxxxxxxx
Daisy, I always find once one thing goes everyting else follows. I am terrible with hoovers, usually have at least 1 new one a year - too much use I think! Yes, tell them how poorly you are, when I saw you eating them elephant doofers the other day I thought that poor woman forcing herself to eat hee, hee.
Had Zoladex jab today so expecting to wake up feeling like a 90yr old tomorrow - could be worse - I could wake up next to a 90yr old!!
Sharon is doing well, Sharon get on here and tell them how you are!
Is anyone going to the meeting tonight? I’ve just done a big shop and am a bit pooped as usual so will see.
Love to all,
Tracey xxx
Hi All
Good to meet you Daisy and to see you looking well. Those profiteroles certainly were huge!! Good lunch as always.
Yes, I am going to the meeting tonight. I am going to brave no wig tonight although hair not yet styled by a hairdresser. I’ve got to get used to it sometime soon. Bearing it in the pub was a starter at least.
Lily would you be able to give me the number for the mobile hairdresser you used as do not feel like going to a shop hairdresser yet. Need some info on what products to use too.
If I do not see anyone tonight all the best for rads etc and Daisy with your meeting with the Prof.
Moonshine - Femara still ok for me after nearly six months now but as always everyone is different.
Sharon hope you continue to feel better and keep that temperature down.
Flora xx
Evening - first appt for the washing machine chap is Monday a.m, but I am at the clinic, so got to wait until Wed. So my mate has offered to wash some loads for me.
Well done Flora on baring your bonce, it looked just fine to me. I am off to Lakeside on Saturday and will be ‘wigging’ with my mate. Not going to buy just yet, but I intend to try on lots. My Mum used Johnson baby shampoo on her hair when it started to grow back. I think the hairdressers in town that was H2o opposite the Quadrant sell shampoo for the newly sprouted as one of the owners went through it himself.
Tracey, I hope your jab dosen’t make you feel like a 90 yr old, I hope you feel fine & dandy.
Love to all…Daisy xxx
Hi
Daisy
There is also good wig shop in Southend if Lakeside not so good. Good hunting. As you will know wigs look much better when cut and styled otherwise can be a bit like a rug on your head!!
Hello to the new people from the support group you will probably start posting here soon or at least read our messages. Do join us at our next feast.
If you are reading this we are all thinking of you Julie for next week. Do let us know how things go. Helen - good luck for next chemo.
Flora xx
Hi,
I am feeling very guilty as I have a horrible cold and sinusitis and worried I could have inflicted it on all of you. So sorry. It just came on overnight, got antibiotics from the doc to clear my sinuses. He also told me that he is very happy to sign me straight off again if I find work hard or they give me too much to do. I don’t think I will need it but really nice to know I would receive a sympathetic ear if I needed to. Tracey how was the zoladex? Hopefully not too bad for you and hope you and Sharon are chatting all the way down the A12 and back to rads, without too much bother.I didn’t even consider the meeting in case I didn’t get you first time with my germs.
Daisy ohh poo with the electric things all abandoniing you. My BIl’s integral fridge freezer went and he got a good deal from what was cantelec on corner of Moulsham street but they have had a name change. He just bought and hubby and son helped shove it in the hole and reattached the door, not too tricky. The beer fridge lives on eh! I have been having a battle with Harveys about a broken chair and lost the plot with an extremely intimidating but patronising moo on the customer services desk.Complained to her superviser after she had me in tears. Not done that for ages. Good luck for your meeting with the prof, I think you will like him. Don’t expect to get out of there very quickly though! Hey Flora well done for chucking the wig today. I think you have as much hair as when I first showed my short hair. The hairdresser is a friend so will ring her and then ring you - please let me remember to do this! She is lovely and so helpful, has had a number of short back and sides victims so experienced. I bought my own organic, no chemicals dye for her to use.
Take care

HI everyone, Sharon2 here. Just to let you know that I am feeling much better in myself although the chesty cough is lingering. I even went to the support group last nite which I did enjoy. Hello to Helen and Julie and all the best for next week Julie and you never know you may even get a visit!!!. You will be fine and if there is anything else to add to your shopping list I’ll let you know.
Flora you looked really good with your own hair I didn’t recognise you.
Lily how are you feeling today, hopefully the antibiotics will kick in and you will feel better.I took the costume brochures for you so will give them to you next feast.
Daisy it was lovely to meet you and you sounded so strong and looked so well so quickly after surgery. Hopefully we will meet up again to eat maybe after Tracey and I finish rads to celebrate.
Love n hugs to you all sharon 2 xxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi It Julie
Its lovely Sharon,Tracy ,Flora, and Helen etc to wish me well for Wednesday,
You all were so positive in your attitudes and it made me feel more positive too, I am petrified I must admit and always worrying if its spread and how i will feel afterwards! but I am sure everyone of you have felt the same! Thanks Sharon for your tips, my daughter Nicola is going to get me a v pillow and will look for pygamas!
nice to meet you all , and hope to see you at meetings
love julie
Hi Julie, Flora, Moonshine & Sharon2
It’s Helen aka Diamond9 - lovely to chat to you all last night at the support group.
Flora you were great, very inspiring and I thought your hair was great! Yes of course I would love to meet up with you girls for lunch, just let me know when. Don’t know if it helps but someone told me to get this shampoo called Nioxin, it encourages hair follicles to grow, apparently Kylie Minogue used it. I got some online for after my chemo.
Julie, you reminded me so much of how I felt pre op (it was only December so still very fresh in my mind - I send you lots of good luck wishes and positive thoughts x
Can anyone give me advice - my hair is coming out by the handful, I have a wig…do I shave it off before it comes out in clumps or let it happen naturally, very distressing! My head is tingling like mad, reminds me of when i was little and had it in pigtails all day and the follicles ached at the end of the day.
Helen x
Hi everyone
Last night I posted to say that my hair was coming out and I was unsure as to whether or not to shave it off, this morning in the shower most of it came out. I filled a carrier bag with hair, I never knew I had so much hair! I got my Mum to come over and shave the rest off to a number 4. I cried buckets but then pulled myself together and took my daughter to the cinema with my new wig on (first time out in public for me and my wig)…a huge hurdle, but it was ok!!
Hope everyone is ok, I’m off to a fashion show at Billericy FC tonight, it’s been organised by a friend of a friend that is a fundraiser for Helen Rollason Cancer Care. It’s a good excuse to treat myself. Have a good Friday evening. Helen x
