Can you all send good vibes to Tracey as she is having to deal with something that I won’t go into but needs your thoughts. (she is ok physically)Have a good weekend

Love n hugs sharon xx

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your message Sharon2, my hair feels better already although a bit tingly still. I am still finding hair everywhere - yuck!

Thanks for the personal message Julie, I had days like that at the beginning when everything ached, probably a lot to do with the bruising from the biopsy and the emotional stuff that you are dealing with. I’m sure you will be fine, just stay strong. I’ll be thinking of you next week.

Sending lots of positive thoughts to Tracey, I have only met you once at the support group but would like to send you my best wishes all the same, I hope what ever it is that is troubling you sorts itself out!

Love to everyone Helen x

Hi All

Lily - hope you are starting to feel better and well enough to go back to work. Thanks for the info and will contact her soon.

Tracey- thoughts are with you and let us know if we can do anything to help.

Helen - this is the awful bit re when to cut your hair. I got to a stage when it was always falling out and gets everywhere, have to watch when cooking!! so I just took scissors and cut it off, did not shave as felt better that there were still wispy bits left that never actually went.

Julie - not long now. all you are thinking we have too and although it is not easy, remeber we have all come out the other side ok and you will too. We are here for you and to help you through it. Happy to listen anytime.

Sharon - great you are through this week and best of luck for the next. Hope you are still amking progress and getting rid of that cough.

Greetings from a very happy and slightly tiddly Daisy! All my nodes were clear, no need for bone scan either. I see Prof D on the 9th March and I will be having chemo AND radio at the same time as Prof S thinks I could cope with it. What ever ‘it’ is, is coming via an injection, so I assume thats the chemo that begins with the letter E that I can’t spell sober let alone squiffy!. I start Tamoxifen after chemo.

Off now to buy another bottle of wine.

Hope you are all feeling well and smiling.

Daisy

Great news. Keep us posted when you know more from Prof D. Keep up the celebrations!!

Julie how you doing. Don’t forget to take in big brigit Jones knickers as you can wear cotton ones to theaatre!!!

hello everyone else, 5 rads completed, am feeling tired but this is most probably due to post chemo and still have chesty cough.

Love to everyone sharon xx

Hi everyone

Thanks Sharon2, will definitely say hello to Elaine, I am at 10am, do you know when she is there? Well done for completing 5 rads, I’m sure it must be tiring but you are getting there!

Julie, I’m not going to be online for a few days as 2nd chemo tomorrow but I’ll be thinking of you on Wednesday. One major hurdle out the way after your surgery, wishing you loads of luck x

Daisy, I’m new to this site but I’ve just read your recent blog and that’s brilliant news, so pleased your nodes and bone scan are clear. Good luck with the chemo and rads.

Take care all

Hi everyone,
hope to meet Helen and Julie some time and lots of luck to both of you with your treatment. The more the merrier at our lunches but maybe we can do an evening to fit in before Easter so I can see you all.
Daisy fab news, sooooo pleased for you and hope you are continuing to improve every day. I met another lady who was on chemo and rads together, perhaps that is his latest thing. The E is epirubicin, I had that on its own and then 3 others afterwards. Are you just having epi? I have heard of EC and FEc is standard in our area. Lots of luck with that, let us know when you have a date for it to start.
Flora nice to chat today and celebrate that hair, it is much better than you think. Sharon2 how are you now? Hope you are chugging through rads with Tracey and can see then end in sight.
Tracey big hugs and hope thing are improving. I passed everything on to the right people and it is being taken very seriously and watched discretely. Will speak on the phone rather than here but I am thinking of everyone

Hi everyone,

I’ve not really been in touch much over the last few weeks, to be honest I think ive been trying to ignore the whole subject for a while. I’ve got chemo number 3 coming up on Friday so starting to dread it already as number 2 was worse than number 1! I’m haning onto my hair at the moment though it looks a bit thin and when wet looks like old lady hair. I switch to taxotere for number 4-8 so think the chances of not going bald a pretty slim??

Also satring to feel a bit flabby…which doesn’t seem fair after all the throwing up !!! Anyway am off to the flicks tonight to see " He’s just not that into you" sounds like a load of girly rubbish which is just what is needed. ( That and some Ben & Jerry’s…which might explain the flab eh) Anyway I would love to meet up at the next Essex girls gathering so will be reading the thread…

Lots of love to you all
Lally

Hi Lally, I have been wondering how you are. So sorry to hear you have been having a rough time with the chemo. Don’t worry about not being in regular contact, we all handle it differently, just know that when you are feeling like some company we are all here for you.
A trip to the cinema and Ben and Jerry’s sounds just like what you need, I do hope you have a good time.
Thoughts and very best wishes for a speedy recovery to Julie today x.
Helen, hope chemo No.2 was better for you, I hear you met Sharon’s friend who is at the same stage.
Daisy - so pleased to hear your good news, hope you can relax a little now.
Lily and Flora - hope you are not working to hard and that you are okay.
Look forward to seeing you all,
Tracey xxx

Hello everyone,
Its Julie’s daughter Nicola. I just thought I would send a quick post to let you know that the surgery all went well and although she is still on the recovery ward and being closely monitored (something to do with her drain), she was in good spirits and enjoying the happy drugs!
Many Thanks for all your support for her. She sends her best wishes to you all.
Nicola (Julie’s daughter)

Hi Nichola,
Thanks so much for letting us know your Mum is okay, I have been thinking about her today and am so glad it’s over for her. Give her our love and we look forward to seeing her again.
Hope she has a speedy recovery and hope it hasn’t been too stressful for you,
Take care
Tracey xx

Hi Nicola

Also so pleased to hear how Julie is getting on and that the surgery went well. Thoughts were with her today and hope she will soon be home.

Do give her our best wishes and keep us posted until she can be back online.

Flora

Hi Nicola, just wanted to say thanks for letting us know how your mum is. It was lovely to meet her last week and I hope I was able to reassure her and that I did not scare when showing my mx scar!!! She will soon be on the road to recovery and hopefully I may try and visit her tomorrow (Friday) after rads depending on how I feel as I also start hormone treatment tomorrow - more needles!!!
We will have to meet up in 2-3 weeks once mum has recovered and if she needs picking up that can be arranged.
Rads are making me tired and sore almost like rib ache to the touch will speak to the sister tomorrow.
Love to everyone sharon2 xx

Hi everyone

Nicola, lovely to hear from you! Your Mum has been on my mind and I’m so glad you let us know that she is doing well. Please give her my love and wish her a speedy recovery from the op.

Thanks to everyone else for my good wishes re: 2nd chemo, it went ok apart from the 3 hour delay in getting my chemo drugs which was a bit distressing. Met Elaine, Sharon’s friend, she is lovely! Looks like we will be with each other for the next chemo too. Sharon2 you are doing well with the rads - hope you get the sore ribs sorted out.

Hope to see you all soon, look forward to having lunch with you sometime!

Hello, Nicola here again! (Julie’s daughter)

Mum is doing well, although is in a lot of pain. She has a lovely bruise all down her back! Mr Smith (surgeon) came to see her today and is really pleased with how it all went. He said that it doesnt look like all the lymph nodes were cancerous and that the results from her cat scan and bone scan have come back clear. He was also able to do a nipple reconstruction whilst she was under so she is really pleased with all of that. She did have to have a blood transfusion through the night last night but she’s off of that now.
She sends her best wishes and I am updating her with all of your news!
Best wishes to all of you, I think you are all marvelous!
Nicola xxx

Hi,
get better soon everyone and keep chugging along. Sharon2 sorry to hear about the sore ribs, bet that is annoying. I don’t know why some people suffer more with rads than others. It did not make me feel any different energy wise apart from sleepy in the car, which I always get. Hope the problem does not get worse. The sisters there were lovely when I had to speak to them. Don’t forget Tracey and Sharon I have the famous gel things if it starts getting hot! I was smoking! Tracey hope things are improving now and you must be so busy with all the appointments. Bev has been asking about you all and I passed on your number when you said ok. Check up on Monday and help do I need to go for full blood tests when I go the clinic to see my surgeon too? Or is it just when I see the Prof? He is in the Chronicle this week as they are looking for the cure for BC in Chelmsford, using our very tumours  Can’t think of anything better to donate them to. Nicola tell Mum I look forward to meeting her and well done for getting a great big thing ticked off her treatment list. A blood transfusion should help her pick up much faster and ahve mor energy. Helen, poor you, it used to drive me mad if I sat there doing nothing. We used to go in the canteen and have a great big fry up breakfast before each chemo. They do a really fab breakfast if you go in the mornings. Something to look forward to rather than going straight in.
Flora hope to catch up in a couple of weeks, everyone seems keen. Daisy how are you doing now. Hope you can come along too but will be an evening as back at work with the ‘darlings.’
Hugs all round
Lily x

yoo-hoo…I am doing well, but bored out of my nut. Was hoping to drive this week, but hubbys car is faulty so he’s using mine. DARN!!

So am passing the time watching daytime TV, reading and entering competitions. (my hobby). Watch me win lots of holidays that I won’t be able to go on!

Hope everyone is doing well, roll on our next get together. Will update you more when I see Nev on 9th Mar.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have any idea at what point during chemo I am likely to have the radio? They must think I am made of strong stuff to be zapping and poisoning me at the same time!

Daisy xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi All

Having a day off today and went to play golf for first time after a bit of a break over Xmas and bad weather. Lovely sunny day to be out.

Nicola - great to hear how your Mum is doing. Hopefully she will soon be out of hospital, any idea when this is. Does she want any visitors?

Daisy - sorry you are so bored. I also do competitions. Anyone want a Superman blow up chair or Easiyo yogurt maker? My best win was a washing machine a few years ago. Lots now are online so no need even for stamps!! I have loads of books if you need any more reading material.
Glad you are still doing well and good luck with the Prof. Sorry can’t help re timing of rads but you will need a planning meeting before you start. I bet you just want to get on with it now.

Sharon2 -sorry to hear you are having a bit of trouble with the rads but I am sure the nurses will get it sorted out for you. The tiredness is probably the left overs from chemo and infection. Anyway not many more to go now.

Tracey hope you are doing ok on your rads. You are lucky to have company all the way through to help pass the time on journeys and waiting etc…

Helen- 2 gone now. Glad to see you online again so soon. How are the headcoverings going? I expect you will just be getting used to the new look.

Lily - hope you trying to get enough rest and not do too much with all that is going on. It is easy to take on too much when you are back at work. Juggling everything is hard in the first few months

Hi everyone! Nicola again!

Mum is doing much better and has managed to get out of bed and sit in the chair. Her blood count is still low so may need another blood transfusion but they are going to see how she goes over the weekend.
Mum says to wish you all the best with all your chemo and rads that are going on and she hopes to speak with you all soon.
We think she will be coming out tue or wed. Mum is happy to have visitors if anybody would like to. She is on B28 Billericay ward and is in room 19.
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me where is best to get head scarves from and how long after starting chemo does hair tend to come out?

I wish all of you well and I will keep you all updated.
Nicola (Julie’s daughter)
