Hi,
I didn’t see prof as he was scared stiff of upsetting Daisy lol!! Nice to catch up while we waited the long wait in the waiting room, so aptly named at his clinic! Fab that you are fine. I saw H from the chemo unit for the inevitable touchy feely bit. Everything is fine, tumour markers are down to 17, yahooo and he said his could be 14 if he was tested. Chatted about how I was and back in 12 weeks as they are not happy with london Rd leaving me till Oct. mammo results still not in and they cannot access them on screen either so on my 4th week of waiting.

Hi everyone
Well that’s number 5 chemo out the way for me - one more to go, yippee!!! My hair is coming back quite quickly which is fab, may even be able to go wigless in the summer at this rate! I suffered with the usual sickness etc but feel a bit better today.
Are we meeting up soon? I think some dates were mentioned 11 & 12 May if I remember, is that any good to anyone? Or has anyone fixed another date? Can someone let me know please?
Glad to hear everyone seems to be doing ok, and finally got their results etc.
Take care
Love Helen x
Hi Helen - get you on your last poisoning! Well done! Glad the hair is coming back, mine is stubble like, but I suppose it will all go eventually. I don’t mind as the wigs is comfy!
My chemo is 8th May (Fri) so the 11th/12th are probably not my best days, the Wednesday is better, the 13th if folk are up for that?
Lily, get on the phone and shout at someone to get your results, you are far too nice, be rude and abusive, 4 weeks is not acceptable.
Hope everyone is feeling fine.
Daisy xxx
Hi ladies hope everyone is well
Great news daisy, you go girl.
Great to hear your hair is comming back quickly Helen, mine is about 1.5 inches and is curly has hell, cant do a thing with it. glad the end is in sight. ready to enjoy the summer.
Lily, I dont understand about markers but that sounds good. daisy has got right idea, ring someone up and moan about waiting for results, there should be no need for waiting that long.
sharon 2 hope you are well, noticed your post on night sweats, I am on tamoxifen and suffer greatly with them at least every hour having to change bed and night clothes, have been sleeping in spare room so not to disturbe everyone, cold drink and fannel as well as open window and throwing covers off immediadtly it starts helps reduce duration but have seen on other postings that another drug, and I cant find my notes on it, but I think it begins with N, it is the same as Tamoxifen but is slow release has been very helpful in stopping night sweats but appearntly it is more expensive, mention it to onc.
Tracey how did move go?
just to let everyone know I went to my appointment on Thursday and bcn actually spoke to me. great news my cancer was grade and stage two and all 11 nodes removedd were clear, so no more chemo and I think no RADs. I got appointment for onc in July which bcn said is rediculas and she will bring forward. unfortunatly my wound drama continues, I am now on my third course of anti biotics and now surgeon decieded that packing no longer required but now I have a stoma bag fitted to my chest which I have to empty n a regular basis and chest is now gurggling again. oh what fun . but at least it is water proof so I can now bathe which is utter joy.
Julie hope mouth and bum situation resolves soon. get your scarfes on and shake your stuff even if one is a bit stiff,
thanks to all
love
Sharon bas
Hi,
got a letter today, looked at it, thought this is it, my results but alas just a stupid letter from Audi inviting me for a cup of coffee with them. Ehhrr. Will have to wait till next week now. It is tough as I would have to ring from work and everyone is there listening and what if… Think I’ll be an ostrich and stick my head in the sand for a bit longer. Fab results with no spread Sharonbas, you must be so pleased. So it sounds like you just need to get the surgery sorted and you are cooked! You have been so unlucky and it is not fair to have so much trouble, poor you. I have the Nolvadex-d tablets, which are a more expensive brand of tamoxifen. I started them early Dec and no hot flushes yet but getting prickly heat as the temp warms up. I am expecting flushes when I go on holiday though. Have you all got your free prescription cards to use? Can we let you chemo ladies decide on a good day or days as we all know how that feels. I still remember sitting watching Tracey and Sharon2 eating really yummy cheesecake and not being able to have any. I mostly had bread and butter and chips while on cmf. Go Helen, almost there. The end wizzes by doesn’t it? Must warn you, I got really cheesed off waiting for the last one to go! Too impatient.
Hi to everyone else and hope to see you soon
Lily x
Okey dokey Lily…here we go…I am on chemo, and my best days to enjoy some munchies are…
Wednesday 13th May
Thursday 14th May
Next person’s go!
Daisy xx
Hi,
didn’t bring my school calendar home so need to check it but apart from that I am ok for either date. Mammo results arrived this morning and are fine, phew. The docs report was dated 21 April but typed on 28 and posted on 30th so might write and moan about extra anxiety it causes. If that doc caught up so quickly after his hols, they took 14 days to put the front letter on and post it. The wording on the report is horrible, no sign of i am pleased to report, results are ok, etc. A horrible sentence about only normal or benign mammographic appearances. Perhaps that is normal but a cheery comment would not have gone amiss.
Enjoy the weekend if you can

Great news Lily. It sounds like the bog standard reply I get each year. Complain to the PCT, I would.
Well chuffed for you matey.
Daisy xxxx
well done lily, another mammoth hurdle over with. I have sent you a voice mail. I can make either date and believe Tracy can too. I am doinf a 10 mile sponsored walk tomorrow with Jack so think of me!!!
Well done helen for completing 5 sessions, 1 more to go. I saw Elaine the other day and said the same to her.
As the tickets run out for the pink party is there anyone out there if I can get a hall for nothing or minimal cost, that would like to help me organise an evening in October to raise money for Heln Rollasson???
this would involve getting companies to donate prizes for raffle, selling tickets, helping with doing food etc.
Hope everyone else are doing ok and enjoying the sunshine. I am making the most of it as returning to work on Tuesday.
Lots of love sharon2 xx
Hi All
Thanks for all those lovely words girls, yes the end of the chemo line is getting nearer - yippeee!!! Just have to prepare to be fried and cooked at the next stage of the road.
Be good to meet up, I can do either date Daisy but I would prefer to meet on Thursday 14th as I am out for dinner in the evening on the Wednesday and as much as I enjoy my food can’t do two meals out in one day! How about you Julie? Don’t think anyone else is on chemo at the moment? How does that fit in with you ladies that are back at work etc?
Good news that both Sharon.bas and Lily have had their results and they are good ones, I’m very pleased for you both…huge relief eh?!
Sharon2 - sounds like a good idea, arranging something in October for the Helen Rollason. I will try and do my bit to help, just let me know what I can do.
Does anyone recall I mentioned that a friend of mine is organising a Masked Ball on 31 October (Halloween) at Stock Brook Manor, for Helen Rollason & Breast Cancer Care? I thought it’d be lovely to try and get a table of the ladies from the support group together. I think a table is 10 people. Anyone interested?
Keep well and enjoy the long weekend
Love Helen x
ok - lets go for Thursday 14th May in the evening …who can’t make it?
Daisy x
Hi am new to site and am an essex girl in Southend and extremely scarred at the moment. Have had left breast and lymph removed and have grade 3. Starting chemo on tuesday would like to no if there is anyone in the same situation. Have been positive but am having a bad day…
Hi Daisyd - welcome! Oh blimey, this is going to get very confusing, another Daisy! I am called Sharon, but so are most of us on here! ha ha. I will have to think of another name.
Sorry to hear you are feeling down in the dumps. Having a bad day is perfectly normal, but don’t have too many, get things off your chest on here, one of us will perk you up!
We are all at different stages, some of us are having chemo, some now taking pills & potions, I don’t think any of us are having radio therapy at the mo though. All of us have had different ops, with different grades, but we are all smiling and dealing with the breast beastie like the tough nuts us Essex girls are!
I am on chemo no3 on Friday and so far, so good. I am having treatment at Broomfield in Chelmsford, but some are under Basildon & Southend.
So, if you have ANY questions, ask away. We are a very friendly bunch, we meet regularly and welcome newbies with open arms!
Have you checked out the wig shop in Southend yet? They are so nice and helpful, they had my friend and me in stitches! Do you know about the NHS voucher that goes towards the wig? If you want any chemo tips, just ask.
Keep in touch…Daisy xxx
Hi,
don’t forget us working gals need to meet in the evening whichever day it is. Sharon2 I’m afraid your message sounded like a darlek under water so I have no idea what you said lol. I am guessing you are saying you want to meet up? Tracey how did the move go or are you still living out of boxes? Hey you stood me up at parents evening!!! No problem I guessed you might just be a little busy. Daisy999 hope all is still going well and Helen and Tracey and Flora too. Daisyd I know it is so much to take in as it all happens so fast. I still wake up and think s…t so it wasn’t a dream. Trying to give you a positive thought, so although chemo is scarey, on Tuesday the drugs will all be whizzing round your body searching out the little Cs that could be hiding and kicking them up the backside. You will be doing something to get rid of it and after the first one it will be easier to cope with. On chemo you get into a bit of a pattern even though you don’t like its regularity. What drugs are you having? Have fun tomorrow and don’t think too much about Tues until it arrives. Big hugs, you can do this x.

LET’S MEET UP…
I have spoken to Julie and the 14th is ok with her, so…
Thursday 14th May, 7.00 at The Fox & Raven (unless there are more than 8 of us!!!), if there is, we will cross over to the ‘other side’.
Hope this is good for you all.
Daisy xxxxxx
Hi,
that sounds fine but can we make it any earlier?
Lily x
ps will tell B the date
Of course, earlier is not a problem for us stay at home types! Is 7.00 good or do you want to go for 6.45?
Daisy xx
Hi First day back at work went well. Was there 3 hours . I am alternating between working in the office and at home for a while which is nice.
I will try and come to the meal but my mother in law passed away this morning so need to see how things pan out.
Hope you all well
Love sharon xx
Sharon2 - well done for getting back into the ‘other world’. Sorry to hear your bad news honey.
A question for you knowledgeable ones…when will my head stubble fall out? My head is so prickly I could file my nails on it! I am getting a few zits on my head where I think the hair is ingrowing. Should I Immac it away?
I am going to see The Specials tomorrow night and I have the perfect skinhead look! I managed to get into the disabled section as I really don’t fancy being bumped, bashed and groped…well???..maybe one of them would be ok).
Flora - is it ok for me to make use of your wig stand and shampoos? If not, I will scout around Ebay.
Off to school tomorrow to say farewell to my Y11’s, blood test, then concert in the evening, chemo Friday, where I will more than likely be having it horizontal on the bed in there!
Hope everyone is well.

UPDATE 8pm - tonights gig has been cancelled as lead singer has a sore throat, if he isn’t better for tomorrows gig he will have to face the wrath of Daisy!!! Got to keep checking the website, oh yeah, the gig is all the way over in Brixton, if they update the site late like they did today, we will be on our way there!
