Sharon2 sorry to hear it is not improving and think you are heading for gynae appointment to check it out. Not a bad thing though if they get it sorted and reassure you. You must be fed up and worried I know. Sorry.

Hello everyone, blimey long time since I’ve been on here, much to read and catch up on. Just thought it may be the easiest way to let you all know I have a nasty bout of flu including loss of voice and have been under the duvet for days. So won’t be coming Wednesday and haven’t dared go near Flora with all germs while she is having chemo, so can someone let her know please. Hope to catch up with you all soon, lots of love xxxxxxxxx

Hey Tracey get better soon and sorry to hear you were unwell. Had a fab time at B’s daughters wedding on Sunday and they all looked lovely. Hoep to catch up with you soon.

Hi ladies
Great to read all your comments and catch up with you all. I’ve not been around for a while- I have had my first Tax and found it quite hard going- aching joints and tiredness. Off for the next one tomorrow.
On a lighter note I had a great afternoon yesterday on a Look Good Feel Better workshop and came away with a huge bag of goodies. It was run by some really lovely ladies.
I can’t make it this evening but I have raised £120 at a coffee morning today which will be winging it way to Helen Rollason.
Have a good time this evening if you are going. Keep smiling.

hi all

well wound is healing and have a provisional date of 4th March to start chemo fingers crossed.

Have to have a portacath put in next week I have such poor veins so hopefully things are moving in the right direction.

I have provisionally booked into Look Good Feel better for 20th April at St Barts, which is a short walk from St Barts, anyone else interested, I know Kath is interested, so is that date ok for you Kath?

Linda

Hi there to all you Essex ladies. I live in Chelmsford and have just finished my treatment for BC dx in June 2009. Last radio session was yesterday. It feels really odd to have completed all treatment and hoping to get my energy levels back soon. Do you have regular local meetup? Jo x

hi
hope those of you who went to rochelle house meeting last night had good evening?
jo - good you’ve come to end of rads - energy level will go back up

linda i can do 20th april for FGLB day - do i need to book/confirm myself? hope all goes well with portacath - worse thing for me was taht the plasters seemed v tight at first but that was cos they’d stretched my neck wrinkles!
    love to all jk

Hi everyone,
sorry I can’t join you as I will be at work and no holidays in schools except the usual end of term ones. I hope you have a lovely time. I did when I went to the one in Colchester and was given Channel make up and some really nice things like Clinique too and a big Dior perfume. Anamcara congrats on finishing rads and hope it does not get too hot and annoying as it keeps going for a while after the last day. I thought I would see smoke coming out my jumper at one point. We do meet up so look out for a post arranging it. Quite a few of us went to the tea party at Rochelle house on Wed and stuffed our faces with some lovely cakes. We even took cakes home with us too. Kath I remember only too well those blasted sticky bandages. They stick them on with your head at an angle and they really restrict you and make the muscles ache. I got the nurse to loosen mine while in there for my port. Do you have a biggish would round your neck too? I have a long one but in other areas they say they are only an inch long. Once closed over well, I used vitamin E cream on my scars and they really healed well. Linda enjoy doing some fun things before chemo starts. I tried to build mydelf up by eating lots of protein and vitamin foods and my neuts stayed ok. I ate eggs like there was no tomorrow. One I ate 13 in 3 days so not sure if they were good or it was a coincidence,. They say east mushrooms and nuts. Missm well done for raising so much money, fab. I hope you are not too poorly after your latest dose.
Oldies see you all soon

Hi All

I have just booked into LGFB for 18th May at St Barts. Time is 2-4, the lady was lovely and apparently there are loads of places the number to books is 020 7601 7586

I am feeling pretty down today, got a call from the hospital they cannot put the port in until 11th March at the earliest and are talking about starting chemo 2 weeks after that, and I was told chemo would start next weekam fed up of all the setbacks, I was diagnosed 15th Dec and its been nothing but infection and problems ever since :frowning:

Hope everyone is well
xxxx

hi all
hope all as well as poss!

ann i’m newish to this site too & everyone lovely & v inclusive - so just join in! i have!

linda i’ll phone & book LGFB 18th may as it should be 2 days before my LAST chemo! all being well!
know what you mean about fed-up with set-backs. i was dx 7th sept & everything has taken ages! was told would def start chemo beginning jan - got port 25th jan & chemo 4th feb - & sure my surgeries would have fallen outside guidelines?? as 11 weeks between mx & ANC!!! so i’ve now already been off work 21 weeks!

2nd chemo this thurs - deep joy! not! will try & behave & not make a performance this time - am being put on the bed!
love to all jk x

Hi,
wishing you all well with your treatments. Julie fab but scarey that they are getting on with it. B goes in just before you. I think you saw my lovely surgeon who they call by his first name as no-one can say his surname. Did you like him? He is very thorough I find.
Ann we all come over to you when having rads but are mostly in the Chelmsford area or Brentwood/Billericay. Still come and join us if you feel up the drive or on a day meet up in the hols, we would love to see everyone. Lindsyloo really sorry to hear about the delay as waiting is horrible. You just want to get on with it and get it done. You can have chemo the same day as the port goes in so that might be something to ask about. Or I had the first in my arm despite having a port. Try and do some lovely things and eat well to build yourself up ready so you feel you are doing something. My treatment suddenly speeded up because I am on a trial and there is a set very short time gap they have to get in. I think it was 3 weeks betwen surgery and chemo starting. They told me afterwards I had kicked someone else off the surgery list that day to have mine, had no idea until afterwards.
Hope you are all well and good luck for anyone having treatment. I am in for a CT scan on Thursday
Lily x

Better news today ladies, saw Onc they are going ahead with chemo next week via a peripheral line and contine with port on 11th March for rest of the cycles.

Hi ladies

I haven’t been on-line for a while, lots of new ladies - hello to you all, hope you are all doing ok at the various stages of treatment. Hello to all my old buddies too, sorry ladies - not that you are ‘old’ but just that I’ve known you a while

Hope everyone is keeping well. Lily - good luck for the CT scan.

Julie - can’t believe you are in for the lipo surgery on 31st March, will that be Springfield or Broomfield? Do you know how long you will be in for?

Sharon2 - hope you are doing ok and that your GP has managed to sort you out with the bleeding and pain.

Anyone seen or heard from Flora? If anyone is in touch please pass on my regards. If you are browsing Flora, ‘hello and hope you are ok’. Hope to see you soon.

Sorry I missed you all at HR, ended up with a cold & sore throat so it’s a good job I didn’t come along. Moonshine - hope you are better now too.

It’d be great to see you all, maybe before B & Julie go into hospital.

Love Hx
