Haha @sarahcatlover I am trying to think of anything good to say about EC
So I was always fine the day after. By day two I would be feeling more nauseous and fatigued. Youāll be a bit wired as youāll probably be on steroids so rest when you can. Overall through I just felt wiped out for about a week. Nother major in terms of symptoms.
I also had quite bad and foggy headaches but this was managed by painkillers
Oh, I got a bit of a sore mouth. So would start on home made mouthwash straight away to prevent this. Water mixed with salt and bicarb.
If they give you filstgrim Injections to take they make you achy all over but it lasted only Bout 48 hours for me.
Some of the effects were cumulative for me so as youāre only having one dose, just think of it as one bad week to get through. I was usually back to normal self after 5-7 days. I had a real.surge in energy which was lovely as knew iturned a corner.
Thatās great news @sarahcatlover - you have a clear plan. My breast surgeon is still unclear on the best option for me; lumpectomy or masectomy, so I had a contrast Mammogram this week and waiting to hear. All I know is that the surgery will be by the end of June as it must be 4-5 ,weeks after my last chemo which is 22 May.

Hey @sarahcatlover I did 3 EC and Iāve just done my 1 of 3 docetaxel 12 days ago so Iāve seen both sides and honestly you will get through your EC
I think for me EC was more intense for a few days but then I was OK whereas I find the docetaxel lingers for longer so it gets more annoying with all the little, irritating side effects.
With EC, I was OK until day 4 when Iād have a nice chill day as it seemed to fall on the Friday both my daughters were in school/nursery so I would take full advantage. But felt fine again 2 days later, keep up with your anti sickness tablets. I wasnt ever sick on it and only had abit of nausea and indigestion. I managed to get on with most thing like school pick ups, playgroups, general life.
Good luck with it

@trixie17 i am her2 negative but they didnt recomend any further treatment for me as they said it wasnt beneficial to me , i dont want to have any further treatment but i am finding this strange all the same
3 weeks left of Paclitaxel and Iāve got a noticeable āfluffā forming on my head now, like 1 or 2mm. So much so that my grandmother at a distance said she could actually see it! I may be āhuffing copiumā as the youth would say, but Iāll take it
Iām constantly just brushing the back of my head like - yes, yes growwwww!
Also suddenly my armpit hair is back in full force? Itās a bit fluffy but itās LONG and Iāve no idea when that grew XD My armpits are also starting to smell again, which is odd to notice but Iām now realising was a nice side effect of I guess EC.
Apart from having another full on meltdown last Tuesday after I got home from the infusion and had to decide what to do for dinner - all is well. Iāve organised an initial therapy session through my breast care nurse now since I probably have some emotions to deal with lol.
Been watching a lot of the Speakers Live sessions from BCN the last two weeks too, treating it like a work webinar, making notes and stuff
Theyāre definitely interesting, and if you canāt make them live you can just catch up on the zoom recording afterwards.

@demimiray yes to the hair too - I finished paclitaxel 2 weeks ago and Iāve got lots of what I call fluffy old lady hair! Not a great photo but hopefully you get a sense of it

Looks really good Sam!
Also after all the back and forth about my port not healing, after the latest revision of it with 3 chemo left to go it has finally closed and is functioning properly

Good to hear peopleās hair returning!
I had my Pembro plus one and only EC today. Plus they took out my Picc line! All went smoothly with lovely nurse who knows me well.
Iām now feeling pretty nauseous deposite all the anti sickness meds. Also bit shaky and light headed. So Iām staying on the bed and drinking tons of water!
Tomorrow I have to start 7 days of Filgrastim injections into my abdomen. Not had them before. I think people have said they can cause bone pain? Also nausea!!?
Any tips for the bone pain if I get it? I guess paracetamol, but not ibuprofen whilst on the Dexamethasone. I havenāt yet used the Codeine as worried about constipation and drowsiness. Xx

Iāve used the filgrastim jabs after every round and havenāt experienced bone pain yet. Iāve always taken it shortly before going to bed - not sure if thatās the reason Iāve avoided symptoms.

I take claritin 30 minutes before having the Flistigram injections, Iāve never encountered bone pain but I do feel achy around my neck area, but itās not hugely impacting. I make sure I do the injections in the evening & the same time each evening.

Thank you. Iāve been told I have to have them in afternoon as community nurse will be administering them. I donāt think I can grip enough with this neuropathy and the thumb cramps.
Iāve had terrible nausea since the EC but eventually with three different anti sickness meds!! Itās easing!

So today had scans and all clear, i was so scared. I just need my bloods to have recovered from last weeks hospital stay and then final chemo next Wednesday
Has anyone been in hospital with the neurophonic fever!!! I have left a message to see if my growth injections dose can be upped of if he is considering lowering my final dose of Dosetaxel as my review this week is with a CNS not him.
Any advice. Praying for it to go ahead

The EC has really knocked me! The nausea was bad. Now Iām very light headed (low red blood cells) and so weak. The neuropathy is bad and Iām constipated. Horrible taste in mouth too.
I guess Iām so weak because of the ME I have too.
Thank goodness I only had to have that one EC on Monday. Hoping I start to pick up soon.

Sorry for the rant !!
