Continuing the discussion from August 2024 chemo starters:
Hello All
Been sent over here from FB, I’m starting chemo on Friday Docetaxel & Carboplatin, 6 days then two weeks off. Plus phego injections at the start of the cycle. I’ll be honest I’m feeling really positive about it. I have HER2+ grade 3 stage 2B. Had surgery; WLE & Axillary node clearance and right now I’m cancer free so the chemo is adjuvant.
I’ve picked out my wig, finished work for now and I’m eager to get going so I can gauge how I’ll feel through the whole cycle. Big love to all of my fellow August starters

Hello brummiebird
I agree it’s wanting to get it started , then there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am HER2 positive as well, had surgery , so on chemo for 6 cycles and herceptin jabs for 12 months.
I have picked my wig up today, it isn’t too bad. I will use it if I feel I need to.
Good luck with your treatment xx

Hi @brummiebird69. Head over to the August starters thread to see all the other new chemo starters and their progress.
I start Friday too…and I’m a brummie. Mine is at QE at 2pm. I’m scared about chemo, but also about the state my house will be in if I can’t manage my normal cleaning! And i don’t want to listen to my kids say that their bored continuously if I’m too tired to take them out!
Good luck Friday! X
Hi @brummiebird69, I think it was me that may have suggested this forum. I’m the same as you grade 3, stage 2b her2 +, mastectomy, reconstruction but C in one out of four lymph nodes they tested.
I won’t be sleeping much tonight as I took pre treatment steroids before first round tomorrow. I’m hoping they give me plenty of anti sickness as I pass out if I’m sick (syncope is not great)
I’m picking out my wig on Monday, hoping I’m good for it but some have said fatigue kicks in as the steroids wear off.
The info on August 2024 page is good.
Wishing you as smooth a time as possible for treatment x
