Hi all,
I was passing by a Lush shop on Saturday and decided to go & check the lush cinnamon solid shampoo. I had 3fec so far and due to receive tax1 of 3 on wednesday. I was wondering when to start using the solid shampoo? could I use it now or is it best to wait till chemo is over?
any help/opinions would be much appreciated:)
xx
Hi Nas
My hair started to grow after my TAX1 and my OLnc team said it was OK to use the caffine shampoo but if I had any reaction to stop and leave it until 3-4 weeks after last chemo. I have had no reaction and continue to use the shampoo.
Not sure about the cinnamon shampoo but others have mentioned using it, although again not sure if was during or after chemo had finished. Might be an idea to check with your Onc team before starting.
Happy hair growing!

Thank you Daisygirl:)
Its awesome that your hair started to grow after tax2, I hope mine would too. I will ask my onc tomorrow about the shampoo, but what you said makes sense. As long as there
s no reactions I dont see any harm. I
ll be using v little of anyway since I have a complete baldy as shaved my hair after the first FEC!..
Happy hair growing everyone:)

can anyone help…how long dose tha “CHEMO CURL” last, are you better keeping your short???
I have to say, I can’t wait for my hair to get to a decent length, I miss it and the wig is too hot to wear.
I’ve got patchy stubble and Ive just had Tax 2, so it’s coming back. Maybe half an inch so far, but some bits aren’t growing back yet.
hi guys, i finished chemo in jan 2010, i had fec-t, then a year of herceptin, which finished in jan 2011, its now july and i only have a inch of hair regrowth which is normal at the side but very thin through the top, i hate the way i look, i still have no eyebrows i had to have them tattooed on, im only 40, but look older, i guess i should be happy to be alive, but its hard to be positive when you dont reckonize the person staring at you in the mirror, the steriods made me put on weight, i went from a size 8 to a 14, and im only small, if i had hair the weight wouldnt be an issue, so to all of you out there thats going through this you are not alone, i just wish they gave us councilling about after the treatment ends.
hi all, been crying this morning, hate my hair its grown back curly like an afro and ive always had straight hair before . its still very thick but is just growing out instead of down. people keep commenting and even laughing . its so not funny . does anyone know if it will go straight again and when?
Hi Rach…apparently it does start curly then once it has a bit of length it will go straight. To be honest I would just love any hair at the mo. Mine has just started coming back but not quickly enough!!
Hi ladies. My hair is driving me crazy - I finished chemo on 4 April and today for the very first time I went wig free! I’ve got a covering all over but it’s quite thin and very flat, but I’m sick of wearing my wig. I think it will soon start curling and I’ve always had very straight hair. I did manage to keep my eyebrows - albeit they thinned out a lot and my eyelashes are thickening up again. Everybody seems to be different, I thought 3 months later I’d have much more hair.
There is no problem with the hair on my legs and other regions - typical.
I did use the Lush cinnamon shampoo when my chemo finished and tbh I don’t think it made a difference at all, but it did smell lovely.
If anybody else says I bet you look like Sinead O’Connor I will not be responsible for my actions.
Happy hair growing ladies …

Rach, once the follicles have recovered from the shock it should straighten out, but the poor follicles have had a helluva ride alongside you, so they need a bit of time to relax.
Pinkrose, have you SEEN Sinead O’Connor recently? There was a newspaper article on her that someone posted in the last few weeks, and she’s definitely not bald any more, and is a good bit rounder than she used to be too. So if I DID look like Sinead, with her current hairdo, I’d be fine ta very much!
(Good grief, I really sound angry, but I’m not. Well not really. Oh ok then, I really am…)
hi lovely ladies
just wanted to say hang in there your hair will get there
i finished chemo last june so am a yr out and my hair is straight and got some lenght to it
i know how hard it is i cried most days but time does heel and before you know it you will have your hair back

Sorry you’re feeling poorly CM. Just googled recent picture of S O’C - see what you mean! Might print it off and show everyone …
hi all, had my first hair cut well trim today and its tamed the chemo curl a little, its very short and masculine but i dont care its hair ive been using a hair thickening shampoo cant rember the name dont realy know if it has helped but even my oncon commented about how well it was coming back…that was nearly 3 weeks ago…the shampoo is caffene based thats wot is ment to speed up the growing process.
EK - I’m jealous! Tax 3 om Monday and I’m still a shiny-head! Praps I should change my username to “cinnamon head” - but that would be quite a few of us!!
hi girls couldn’t stand the curl so cut it with a no4 all over. i want long hair but not growing it till the curling goes.xx
rach37, ie always had short but very stright hair and i will keep having a trim even though its to short till chemo curl goses…my hair is naturaly dark ginger…for the last 25 years ive coloured it so no one knew…my secret is out lol…plus no one recognises me…
Hi ladies, I finished my last chemo on the 23rd June and have now completed my Rads. I did the cold cap for x3 chemo sessions and then stopped. I kept quite a good covering of hair with 2 bald patches on top but a long enough side fringe to scrape back in a head band to cover it.
It has now been 6 weeks since the last chemo and nothing seems to be coming back in the bald areas and to top it all off I have started to loose alot of hair.
Whats going on, is the hair not growing in the bald patches because I am covering it. Is the hair I have left dead and just going to keep falling out. I am so disheartended I know I need to be more patient but is there anything I can do to help it grow. I was planning on waiting til I had good covering on the bald patches and just getting it cut all one length then let it all come through together.
Can anyone give me some advice. I am going to by the Alpecin shampoo tomorrow as still using baby stuff at the moment.
