Hi, had total mastectomy on 1st September after previously having DCIS 12 years ago, with lumpectomy and 6 weeks radiotherapy (same breast). Had 55mm tumour removed and sent for Oncotype DX testing with a score of 34 resulting in 3 cycles of EC and 3 cycles paclitaxel. Had PICC line inserted, which I was very anxious about but needn’t have been as it was painless. Had first chemo on 4th November, 3 syringes of ‘red devil’ (epirubicin) plus cyclophosphamide on drip. I was terrified after reading possible side effects but to be fair it’s now 9 days since treatment and I haven’t suffered any that I’m aware of. Am I normal? I’m on 80% dose so perhaps that makes a difference. Saw my oncologist yesterday and was only there 2 minutes, all ok. Forgot to ask him if it will be ok to have a glass of wine or 2 at weekend! Will the 2nd cycle be worse? So sorry for those who are suffering I expect my time will come! Onwards and upwards
