Hi anyone from from Portsmouth area

Was diagnosed with BC again after 19 yrs, Had masectomy Sept 2010 and now half way through Chemo. Anyone up for a chat and maybe meet up.

Hi Tiger45,

I’m in Farnham Surrey which is about 40 minutes from Portsmouth,

I was dx in Sept 10 with Grade 3 stage 1 I had a lumpectomy in Oct and have just had tax4 (out of 6)

Would be good to maybe meet half way for a cuppa and a chat?

Sarah

Hi,

am also about 40 mins away & would be up for a meet up.

There’s a request for people to help on a photoshoot on 4th March, I’ve already emailed. Perhaps that would be a good chance to meet!

Check out the Stars Support Group thread, meet Portsmouth this coming Sunday the 13th Feb!

See you there x

Cm,

Alas, am too young  lol.

:-p

So is Sazzie. Never mind, I thought it looked like a good idea at the time.

Hiya,
I’m from Alresford, about 30 mins away xcountry & was down your way on Friday for wig fitting before starting 6x FEC this Thursday.
Dunno how I’m going to be feeling this w’end for a meet up but sounds good to me!
Love Helen xx

Hi All

I live in Chichester but do meet uo with the STARS girls and they make me extremely welcome. I am not a ‘younger’ lady at 58yrs old but I was encouraged to go along and they are a great supportive group!! Happy to meet up if you don’t want to go to the STARS group. I am now on Tamoxifen.

Jackie

Ladies,

Just a suggestion, if those of us who are not in Portsmouth, perhaps we can meet somewhere in the middle for all of us?

What you all think?

I’m going to start a Guildford thread, please post and we can arrange to meet. For anyone doing St Lukes (Royal Surrey), my house is less than a mile from there, so I would be very happy to be the pre or post treatment coffee stop!

Oooh, sorry, that sounds really rude of me. I’m also happy to pop down the A3, and may well be going down for the photoshoot that the other posters are TOO YOUNG for! ;-p

4th March, chemo permitting. Won’t know until I have first onc appointment but will post again.

Oh sounds great I’m being treated at the Nuffield which in next door to st lukes… Maybe we can have a coffee at Starbucks in the surrey uni sports centre?

Brilliant idea!

Costa is much better coffee though, or just come round to mine, I do a good line in frothy coffee and even have decaff for those already bouncing on the ceiling from steroids. Nice gaff as long as you don’t mind being dribbled on by a grumpy cat.

Sazzie, when is your next Guildford treatment? I’m booked on the same LGFB course as you. And Troy where do you go? I’m not up on cancer treatment centres - funny that! - so I don’t know if there’s somewhere nearer for you.

Tiger and Bev, I’ll probably be knocking around in Portsmouth on 4th March (treatment permitting) so perhaps we could meet up down there somewhere? I know you’re too bleedin’ young for the BCC photoshoot, but at least I’LL be famous afterwards!

Hi everyone,

Cm & Sarah, I spend quite a bit of time in Guilford as my sister lives there, will be that way for half term so if anyone is meeting for coffee let me know & Helen am close enough to do Portsmouth but as you have said am not sure about this weekend as like you 1st chemo.

Sarah.xxx

CM,

My next treatment is in the morning of the LGFB course- the 15th March. How are you fixed next week? Perhaps we can meet up then?

Sarah xx

Mon - Thurs seems okish, but not Friday, OH’s op day. A PM conversation is probably necessary, but others please say if you want to meet up in the Guildford area some time next week so you can be included in making arrangements.

CM,

I have PM’ed you

Hiya All,
I’d love to meet in half term but will have to see how return to work goes, as I’m going back that week on reduced hours.
I work in Alton so would be “over that way”.
As I’ve had 1st fec today not sure how I’ll be feeling over this w’end, other than able to do good impression of kite on Hogs back!
I can provide party hats on a lovely grey colour for those that need them - work gave me a load as a precaution!
Many thanks
lots of love
Helen xx

Sazzie, PM not received. Very odd.

Anyway, I’m not sure I’ll be able to get out to play in the week of half term as I’ll probably be playing nursemaid for significant other after his heart op. It all depends on what he needs, and also on what date I start chemo.

Hi,

Is there anyone still meeting up in the Portsmouth area. I was diagnosed in February 2010 and have since had a lumpectomy and I am now receiving chemo. I would really like to meet up with any ladies who are in the area for a chat.

Look forward to hearing from you.
