I am in a really surreal place.........

Mary,
I’m so sorry to hear about you recurrence. If it’s friends you need , you’re in the right place. This is an amazing group of women who share their strength and their trials and give endless support.
I’m just at the start of my BC journey, but there are women here for whom a recurrence is a setback that is being dealt with. You will be one of them. However terrifying it all is, getting started on your treatment will make you feel a lot less frightened as I’m sure you know.
I’ll leave you with my best wishes. With luck , all the real experts here are having a good night’s sleep and will waken soon to give you their help.
Much love,
Kathleen

LibSue thinking of you today… yuo’re not a wuss, just 1005 normal… think most if not all of us were scared before our surgery.

Mary, so sorry to hear of your recurrence. This is a good place for support and sharing, whether on this lovely thread or many of the others

Clare, and anyone who needs them, here are a few spoons…

LibSue, good luck for today.
Mary, keep posting you will make lots of friends on here.
Clare, try to have many zzzzzzzzzzzzz and gather lots of spoons for Sat! xx

Morning

Feeling all nice & relaxed after my physio appointment. She gave my chest & MX site a lovely massage to help both the scar & draining of any remaining excess fluid. Wish she could do that to me every day. Not quite the same when you do it to yourself!

Still wrestling with poorly bunny to administer the antibiotics. She’s off her food at the moment which isn’t good as she’s always been a real piggy when it comes to food. Will go buy some treats on the way back home to try & tempt her. The other two are sulking big time as they’re not allowed back into the house. I’ll be glad when everything is back to normal!

The Clare drops in my garden are blooming beautifully. Luckily they are not a tasty treat for rabbits do I can enjoy them for some time yet!

Oops…nearly forgot to say. Good luck Libby for today. Hope to see you posting again soon.

Hugs

Evening all,

Aonother early night for me, I could get used to this sleeping lark…

Had a very quiet day, although I didn’t sit down much LoL, just pottered around, avoiding the ironing…Your a bad influence on me chocci :o)

Tina an old friend from the village popped in for coffee then later Helen, also form the village popped in for an hour, both were very welcome but I really could have done with a break…that will be tomorrow, I hope.

I did try and sleep and got into a nice deep sleep when a kind man rang to ask if I had insulation…not a happy bunny!!

So made fish and egg pie early, What an efficiant wifey…

Hope your bunnies are ok Twinky and snowy gets her bits sorted soon :o)

Libby, still thinking of you, I hope you are comfortable after your surgery, don’t try and rush out too quickly though, best for you to stay there if you have too many drains etc.

Errrrrrrrrrr I think I’ll give your suggestion a miss ty Chocci, kind of you to sugest it once again…not sure my pink loo seat will fit in with the decor, I may take it to the pictures though :o)

Thanks for the spoons REV, i’ll practice spoom saving tomorrow too and hope I have enough to go out on Saturday.

Night night all

Night night Clare - Im going out tomorrow night so gonna do some spoon saving myself in the morning.

sleep well hun xxxxx

Hi Clare

Glad you’re getting a bit more sleep at the moment! I’ve still not tried your fish pie recipe. I must flick back through the thread & write it down.

Feeling a bit miserable tonight as Snowy isn’t herself. Still no appetite & not really drinking. She’s enjoying shredding a cardboard box though! She still fairly active but I’m glad she has a follow up appointment with the vet in the morning as she’s not right yet. Missing the mischevious two but another night outside won’t hurt them.

Been feeling a bit off myself today but part of the chest massage this morning was clearing some of the remaining fluid after my op so I guess my body’s having to deal with that now it’s been pushed towards the lymph nodes in my shoulder. I remember a similar feeling after having drainage work done on my bad arm.

Hoping for a good nights sleep with an early vet appointment plus hubby home tomorrow night so washing cleaning & cooking required!

Hugs to everyone

Bugger!

My first UAN post for a while, although I feel ok tonight about it, had a good deep sleep and really couldn’t have lasted much longer awake, so thats a step foward.

Poor twinky and your bunnies, at least its mild outside for them and not down to freezing temprtures. Hope snowy makes a full recovery.

My dog has a new dog walker, a frind who had to put his dog down a few months ago, saw me hobbling to go walkies the other day and now comes at 8am to walk her, she sees him and goes nicely with him, no pulling and he’s let her off and she doesn’t come home…result! another problem solved…

I have just been playing poker…another vice of mine, beats bingo lol but i have lost enough tonight so gonna try and call it a night and sleep again.

Night night all

Back to bed with you! Good to hear Cassie is enjoying her new walker. She’s a lovely dog and very calm for a spaniel.

and what ru doing up? have you slept? I hope so and this is just getting up blip!!

sweet dreams xxxxxxxxxxx

ahhh now that mkaes sence…you been on the bottle???

No just tad a restless night. Maybe that’s why I haven’t slept well!

So glad you had such a lovely time on Tuesday with your calorie-fest. Chocolate sauce and raspberries…yum!

I had such a lovely day yesterday (apart from having to go to work). I finally planted out my new pots of Claredrops by the front door where I can’t miss them when they flower.

Then I baked some bread and made some banana and chocolate chip muffins to keep my lads happy. That made the kitchen smell wonderul, then when I finally got into the living room the pot of hyacinths my cousin gave me at the weekend had opened and were making that room smell gorgeous as well. I really love hyacinths - no good if they’re not scented though! It’s a bit like roses - I can’t understand how anyone could ever buy a scentless rose…

In the evening we went to see our village am dram perform a new comedy play - Cluedunnit - based on the game of Cluedo and the film Clue (with the permission and help of the film scriptwriter). A bit of a slow start but hilarious by the end and so well done. Laughter is soooo good for you! Clare, I hope you had lots of belly laughs with CM and Twinky on Tuesday!!

I could have joined the UAN later though as between my Tamoxifen flushes and OH’s appalling cough I didn’t get much sleep until he departed for the sofa downstairs.

Plenty of blue sky here - hope it’s a lovely day for everyone and that we can all make the most of it.

Bythe way RevCat - I loved your Ash Wednesday prayer.

Wishing love, spoons and Claredrops aplenty to all,

Jane xxx

Hi there,

Had a lovely me day today, I felt so good, still weak but more able to cope with it.

Have made myself tired though, i did a bit of driving and retail therapy, so must rest up tomorrow for the evening.

Hope everyone is well and enjoyed the nice weather

Night night Clare xxx

Well done Clare - retail therapy is always good medicine even if it is a bit tiring. I trust you’ve got a few spoons in reserve!

I really hope you get to go out tomorrow evening - don’t be tempted to overdo it if the weather’s good again tomorrow.

Alto one of my strongest memories during chemo was reading of your wonderful baking. You encouraged the making of many a cake etc. So homemade bread tomorrow to go with the homemade soup or cheese and the pickle made at that time. I think I will never lose weight.
Clare I too had retail therapy today. I met a friend at Bicester Village and we had too much to eat at Carluccios. I am always amazed at the number of bags the visitors from China and Japan are carrying. It has become such a tourist Mecca. It is too “designer” now for me. The prices have increased so much and the shops I liked best have gone. They probably couldn’t afford the rent. It also doesn’t cater for size 16!!! We had a really good time though, I bought a jumper and a couple of shirts for my OH plus some nice perfume.
My Clare drops were very much on view today when I got the washing in. Lovely.
Twinky how is the bunny?
CM Sleep well tonight
Cackles xx

Pleased you enjoyed your me time, Clare. Retail therapy sounds good to me, did you treat yourself? Rest up tomorrow, have a couch potato day and reserve your energy for tomorrow evening - a night with friends will be uplifting and you’ll enjoy the company I’m sure.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes re my op…all was well, I was the first lady into theatre at 9.30am and back on the ward before 11.00am, I begged and pleaded with the nurse to go home and she kindly let me go at 1.30pm. I do have some pain but that’s to be expected, I’ve now a two week wait for the biopsy result, keeping my fingers crossed as if my margins aren’t clear I’ll be back in Hospital for a MX.

I’ve had an uneventful day… no gadding about for me for a few days. My daughter came round and we’ve had a giggle tonight, she’s coming round again tomorrow. I’ve received bouquets of flowers from two friends and had lots of phone calls, people are so kind.

A nasty stye has appeared on my eye, it’s very painful…I’ve bathed it in boiled water and bicarb, and first thing tomorrow my OH is going to the Chemist’s to get some ointment.

The weekend weather forecast is good, I hope everyone is able to make the most of it.

Great that your little dog is happy to go out with her new doggy walker, Clare, and very kind of the man to call for her each day…aren’t some people just wonderful?

Wishing you a sound sleep and pleasant dreams.

And sweet dreams to all.

Look after yourselves everyone.

Love and hugs.

Libby xxx

p.s. I hope Snowy is getting better, Twinky.

Libby … Fantastic you are home. I am so glad the op went ok . Here’s hoping for clear margins. This D… Disease is all waiting I have decided. What a nuisance to get a stye. These things always happen at weekends. Did you manage to sleep last night? I seem to have three days with very little sleep then I take a pill and sleep for hours. Last night it was over thirteen!!! Try not to overdo things. It is so easy to do too much. Thank you for the weather forecast, I will get the rest of the washing out tomorrow!
Sleep well
Cackles

Cackles, I slept like a top last night AND had an afternoon nap, hoping I sleep as well tonight. Wow! thirteen hours sleep what a bonus, I do hope you have a restful night tonight.

I love Bicester, one favourite shop is Jigsaw is it still there? My elder dau lives in Berk’s and we usually have a day in Bicester when I’m down there.

I do intend to rest the next few days but it will be tempting to tidy around as my OH is a great cook but not so good with a floor cleaner or duster!! Can’t have everything can we?

Your washing will smell so fresh after hanging outdoors…ooh do you think spring has sprung? I do hope so, it would be such a tonic.

Sweet dreams.
