I am in a really surreal place.........

Twinky

Big hugs! So sorry about Snowy. People who’ve never had one often don’t realise what special characters rabbits can be.

Hope you’re having a good chilling day Clare.
Dx

Twinky so sorry to hear about Snowy, it’s just so upsetting because they do become part of the family, so special hugs for you.
Clare great you had a lovely zzzzzzzzzzzz and how brilliant is your son?? xx

Thank you all for your kind words. She leaves a big hole in our household because she was very special but we have lots of happy & funny memories of her. She led a very pampered life being a house rabbit but also loved the garden too in all weathers! Got home this afternoon to find some tulips & a card with Claredrops on from a friend of mine.

I will give Herbie & Pebbles lots of attention. They make us laugh with their antics. Hubby is staying up here this coming week so he can take me for my portacath op on Tuesday & first chemo Weds so it’ll be nice to spend lots of time together ( I shall tell the nurses on Weds that no side effects other than a bit of tiredness allowed…lol).

Clare - so glad you’ve been having better nights since Pancake Tuesday! Seems the sleeping bug is finally getting others too.

Hugs to all

Twinky x x

Hello there,
I have been following this thread almost since it started but haven’t had the courage to own up!! Sorry all.
Clare, thank you for this thread and making me realise there are many others in the same predicament and dealing with what’s thrown at them with dignity and courage whilst being an inspiration to boot.
I was diagnosed with mets in lungs and liver in June last year and having completed 6 x docetaxel am enjoying the relief of the side effects leaving only to be replaced with those of anastrozole and warfarin.
My over-active imagination that every tweak and twinge is about to finish me off at high speed doesn’t help!
Have just returned from a lovely 5 day trip to North Yorkshire and had to get on the computer pronto to see how you all were!
Had to explain to hubby why I was head down on my hands and knees amongst the carpets of Claredrops at Whitby Abbey. Just had to see the inside design properly!
Anyway ladies and Clare thanks again, maybe I can come to terms with ‘things’ knowing you are all here.

Twinky, sorry to hear about Snowy. Hope she has fun with my big lop-eared rabbit Timmy who is frolicking in the big patch of dandelions somewhere up there too.

Pets are such a major part of our lives and families. Changed my profile pic to my soppy cats in honour of Snowy

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend and enjoying the beautiful weather

MG xx

They are so cute MG.

Your cats are gorgeous MG, so here’s Monty for your delight and delectation. Let’s hope he doesn’t chase the cats!

Twinky, that was really lovely and so thoughtful of your friend to send flowers and a card.

Jane xxx

Oh thank you MG. Your cats look gorgeous x had to persuade Hubby not to rush out & buy another one today! Said the remaining two were enough of a handful for the moment plus I start chemo in a few days & don’t need any additional stress of getting a new bunny to bond with the current two! Feels so strange without her though.

Lol…I have snuck off to bed early & just heard the two remaining bunnies come hopping upstairs to sleep beneath the bed. Such spoilt bunnies!

Twinky x

I know what you mean Twinky, it is so tempting to get another rabbit and you must miss your cuddles with Snowy. Hope your mischievous pair under the bed give you lots of love too.

Alto, Monty dog is so cute. Buster - big grey cat - is fairly chilled, although Billy the little spotted tabby is more of a scaredy cat and I think he’d be under the bed with Twinky’s rabbits! Mind you my rabbit gave some good nips and kicks to the cats, he was definitely the boss

MG xx

You enjoy your bunnies. They will still be 2 and 3 on here, and to you too I’m sure.

Must see if I can find a pic of Tigger, he’d sort the doggies out!

Twinky so sorry to hear about the lovely Snowy. You will miss her so much but the memories will NEVER go. Biggest of Hugs sent to you.
We so much miss having a pet but always volunteer if friends need their dogs looked after. It was very hard not to encourage my husband to go in when he pointed out the Stokenchurch Dog Rescue on our way back from Marlow. We are going on holiday in three weeks so it would not be fair to adopt a dog this month. I might give way when we get back.
Clare there were lots of Snowdrops on the bank of the Thames today.it is strange how you have made these retiring little plants do important to so many of us. You are a lovely lady.
Donna how fantastic that you have joined Clare’s gang!!!
Sleep well all
Cackles

When I came back home from my skiing trip, I went straight to the garden to look at my Clare drops. I never had a proper look at one before, lifting its tilting head and looking at it properly was a revelation. They are so beautiful, just like all the lovely ladies on this forum.

Clare, I FINALLY found a big patch of beautiful claredrops today - thought all were over, so glad to find more.

Twinky, sorry to hear about Snowy - when an animal has been with you during a really hard time it is even more hard. I had to have my beautiful cat (on my photo), who has been with me for all of my BC, put to sleep in December and I felt so lost. We’d had her from a tiny kitten and I have never lived without a cat for over 30 years and last week go another rescue cat, and he’s wonderful, but I will never stop loving my little darling.

Clare, your son sounds lovely! Mine is back tomorrow from Russia and will be looking for work here, and I am so worried … just really hard for those just starting out.

Glad everyone is sleeping well. Hope it continues.

xxxx

Evening all,

I had a fantastic evening out with the girls, I almost felt normal, apart from looking a right sight, 8 months pregnant and a double chin LOL. It didn’t really matter though, the girls don’t mind, it was just so good to all be together again.

All my planning went well and I surprised myself as I could get up on my own too. We were a bit roudy and got a few hard stares (like paddington bear :o) but we were paying and its not a crime to laugh…

I felt so full I couldn’t finish fillet steak!!! and had no pudding but never the less enjoyed what I had.

My son is a good lad, really soft and caring, he’s such a comfort to me as is Aisling but in a differeent way. She is more reserved and it also has much to do with her age too but she helps out too, I just try and not put too much upon her.

Hope you all had a good day, off to bed now with a big smile on my face :o)

Fantastic to hear you had a fun evening, Clare. It sounds like you and your chums had a right hoot. Laughter’s a great tonic isn’t it?

Your son is a marvel bless him, not many lads of his age would be so willing and helpful. It must be a comfort to you too that he’s now taking driving lessons.

Twinky, so sorry to hear you lost your little pal Snowy. I hope Herbie and Pebbles are keeping you cheerful and not being too mischievous! Best of luck for Tues and Wed. Enjoy your time this week with hubby who sounds a marvel.

I’m feeling tired and dizzy after my general anaesthetic, so must go to bed…hope I can sleep!

Take care everyone,

hugs to all

So glad you are home Libby and that all went well, shame about the waiting game again but that seems the order of the day and the way things work out.

I hope you sleep ok now you haven’t gpt to worry about the op, just the results, which wont come soon enough…

Moser, it will be lovely to catch up with your son, is he staying with you? Whats he been doing in Russia, hopefully the trip will give him the upper edge when getting a job, people like the people who like a challenge and go and set out to fulfill themselves.

I’m glad that a simple thing like a Claredrop can spark up such inspiration, they are truley one of the hidden gems of the plant world and taken for granted. I have a bank outside my property on the main road which I planted up with Claredrops and Accanites (small yellow flower) they go beautifully with each other, then we have a big disply of Dafs after they have gone down, so the bank is in flower for perhaps a few months, where all the villagers can see them.

Donna, don’t feel you have to lurk, this isn’t just my thread its for anyone to put their comments as they feel fit to do. Its not exclusive by any means, as you can tell LOL

It ramble mode now, a sure sign I need to try and get ssome sleep…

Hope everyone reads this in the morning and isn’t lurking too

Clare xxx

Glad you’re home libby - take it easy now!

Clare sounds like you had a truly splendiferous night out; so glad you have another planned. Optimisim is a good thing I think.

I adore daffs… really looking forward to them coming into bloom here but not a few weeks yet.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone. As ever you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Good morning Clare and everyone, hope you all slept well. Clare, my son has been teaching English in Russia, coming back with his Russian partner and baby, they are going to stop in London for a few days, they will come to me mid week for a few days then will stay with his dad for a while (more room there) while he sorts himself out. Looking forward to seeing my granddaughter again.

Dull and grey here - have loads of marking to do :frowning: but hope to go for a walk too! My walk on Sunday keeps me going through the week! Have a good day all xx

Clare, so glad your evening went so well and that you didn’t need to bring the look seat with you…

A good evening of fun and giggles is just what the doctor ordered.

Can I suggest a pj day for Sunday as it looks like you weren’t asleep much last night.

Oh I wish CM…

I have my friend Julie coming over, with dog and 10 yr old clingy child, so will have to get up :o( I have warned her that I will be knackered, but she wont mind, as all good friends, she just goes with the plow.

I really didn’t think I would stay out that late, but we just never stopped talking and giggling, splilling the beans to the others on our exploits. Our group consists of 3 good girls and 3 naughty girls…and the 3 naughty girls have such tails to tell :o)

Can you guess which group I belong too… :o)

You are right CM I didn’t have a great nights sleep, I think it must have been the excitement, I hope you know from just reading the posts this morning and not lurking with me last night.

Do have a restful day yourself and all of you other ladies. Weather here glorious sunshine, enough to put a smile on your face!
